Congress: End Mindless Regulation.Americans are over-regulated with complex laws. Elected officials are voting on laws/bills which they have not read; yet they expect citizens to abide by them. Why should a regulation be thousands of pages long? I recently heard a member of the House who did not even understand the questions being asked about a regulation.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cal D.

End the FilibusterIt is time we as a country put a stop to the filibustering procedures of the US senate. Why should one senator or minority party be able to veto the will of the people, congress and the president of the United States? We are fighting two wars and coming out of our worst financial crisis since the great depression. One person should not be able to stop our government from functioning as is the case in the US senate today. Our constitution states that the president is the only person who has veto powers. These powers can be overturned with a 2/3 vote by congress but the filibuster process vetoes the president, congress and our constitutional rights daily. When a legislative procedure proves to be greater than our constitution it must be eliminated. The only acceptable form of filibustering should be one that is very limited in its' scope in terms of time, frequency and duration, and does not require a super majority vote. Using the senate as an example on filibustering, why prevent states from filibustering over congressional members and not let them be seated after being elected? As you can see this would be wrong. The filibuster has proved to be a congressional veto by its' action and history and must be eliminated. I believe we have a right to debate but our right to debate should not stop our right to proceed with a majority vote by congress that the filibuster now stops.173 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Lamont Warren

Americans United to Prohibit Federal LobbyingWe need to prohibit federal lobbying at all levels . Our governments make decisions based on lobbying. Federal oversight of voter regulationsI am outraged that Republican-dominated state governments have rammed through legislation designed to disenfranchise voters. I want all voting regulations to be federally controlled and taken away from the states. Local facism is not to be tolerated under the myth that states rights are to be treated as holy.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Harriet Stanton-Leaffer

Pledge to vote for centrist politicians.Citizen's United has tilted the playing fields of politics to both extremes. Unregulated money poisons our politics and allows special interests to shape public opinion. Our country moves forward through compromise and respectful dialogue from a diversity of people listening to each other and reaching consensus.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by S. Elgert

National Term LimitsOur Founding Fathers probably did not intend for our national legislatures to consist of "professional polititions" If Congressmen were restricted to 4 terms of two years, and if Senators were restricted to 2 terms of six years, they would be less swayed by lobbyists and special interests and would not need to spend as much time and energy getting re-elected.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Peppino Lynas

Tell Joe Walsh to stop the InsultsCongressman Joe Walsh has a long history of using condescending names and insults toward people whom he disagrees with politically. He has also patronizingly called me “my dear,” disparaged my military service, referred to a female TV host as “kiddo,” claimed that African Americans are “dependent upon government” and that “Jesse Jackson would be out of work if they weren’t,” and said that veterans who disagree with him “don’t understand this country.” It’s bad enough that Walsh constantly refuses common-sense compromises on legislation. But not treating political opponents with even a minimum level of civility? That’s unacceptable. It can be easy to tune out Walsh’s offensive comments since, frankly, there are just so many of them. But we have a responsibility to hold him accountable every time.368 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Tammy Duckworth for Congress
