Make it a federal crime, felony, to receive compensation to lobby a federal employee. This would incluce members of congress and their staff

The US Congress has abused and misused the super majority vote by using filibustering and obstructing important bills. This "super majority" is being abused and needs to be abolished. A real majority vote must be restored to Congress to move our country forward.

In November, 2009, my mother was killed as she crossed the street. The man who killed her was 82 years old and he was not arrested and his license was not revoked. This tragedy might have been avoided if this man had been tested to see if he was still able to drive and had full hearing, sight and the ability to turn his head to see, but since no law existed that would require this, no such test was performed.

Limit the amount and frequency of money donations from other than registered voters.

The whole nation has been affected by the pig-headed determination of Republican Representatives & Senators to block President Obama's effort to pull the country out of the mess created by President Bush & his colleagues.

Current campaign finance law is the injection point Wall St uses to poison OUR democracy. In 2000 85% of the US electorate favored major campaign $ reform. Today that could be 95%. It's one crucial issue that could coalesce over 200 million Americans. If 120 million were to sign-on AND donate an average of $50, we'd have $6 billion to defeat the 10 worstof our reps. Campaign law like that in this petition would mean each of us would be equal to the Koch bros. More importantly, it would mean each of us would be equal to Exxon/Mobil etc, for if we could limit ourselves, we would thereby limit our "corporate selves". Certainly corporate personhood should be revisited, but this would eliminate 99% of the advantage it gives. Poll after poll show that what we have now is not the will of the people; It's Wall St. Most Americans are kind and still believe in freedom, democracy, justice and the possibility of a good life for all. This would be reflected in the policies WE choose after gaining control of our government through this simple demand.

The nation has been impacted by partial judges ruling in favor of their party platforms: i.e., abortion, voting laws, Citizens United.

I would like to have a federal law regarding term limits for Congress. There are term limits for president and there should be the same for Congress so that new, progressive thinking could keep up with the times and the people.

"You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. Congressional Reform Act of 2011 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The founding fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
