  • Responsible Bonds
In California, voters are faced with voting on Bond Measures on the ballots. Many seem like very wonderful ideas but once voted into reality, the perimeters of those bonds of who and what really gets funded are 'gerrymandered'. Legislators find way to fund their pet projects instead funding what the voters of California thought they voted.

  • Tell President Obama: Help keep Veterans in Their Homes by Reducing their mortgage payments, Redu...
Hi, This petition is for all veterans, family members and anyone who is concerned about veterans and their families. There have been several foreclosures of homes owned by veterans in Bell County. Some foreclosures were due to unemployment, and others were due to medical issues. I am sure that veterans and their families losing their homes to foreclosures are occurring around the country. This petition is asking President Obama to take the middleman – BANKS out of the home loan process to veterans and their families. The objective of this petition is to ask President Obama to allow veterans to borrow directly from the government and take the middle man out of the home loans to veterans’ process. The Obama administration has done this with student loans. Students who want to borrow money for higher education can now borrow directly from the Department of Education. Why not extend this to veterans’ home loans by allowing veterans to borrow directly from the Veterans Administration who is currently the guarantor for all veterans’ home loans. It shall decrease the rate of foreclosure for veterans, reduce their mortgage payments, and allow them to pay off their loans sooner. More importantly, it will reduce homelessness amongst veterans. Help stop the bleeding of veterans; take the middle man out of the home loan business. Why should you care about this? In the community that I live in, several veterans and their families have lost their homes to foreclosures. Perhaps in the communities that you live in, the same has happened. I know of veterans who have paid for 15 to 20 years on their mortgages and now because of medical issues, or unemployment their homes are being foreclosed. What a way to thank our veterans and their families for their honorable service to our country. Please sign this petition and stop the tragedy. That's why I created a petition to President Barack Obama, which says: "Take the middle man-BANKS out of the home loans to veterans.” Will you sign my petition? Thanks! Victoria Gulf War Era Veteran

  • MY Pledge
Below is the link to a list of the legislators who have signed a document pledging their loyalty to Grover Norquist and his organization rather than to the people who put them in office. This is one of the main reasons our Government is not governing. Regardless of political views, it is offensive to all voters that these elected officials should sign any pledge that effectively cuts off their ability to put their constituents first. Look to see if your legislator signed away your trust @ www.atr.org under the 'Pledge' tab @ the top of the page.

  • End the Republican Party!
As a party, Republicans have lost touch with their constituents. One could say that the party has become a danger to their citizens, given the recent bills they have supported (i.e., bills in Georgia forcing women to carry their pregnancies to full term, even if it's at risk to their health). Additionally, as a party, Republicans have forgotten that they answer to their constituents, not the 1% or businesses or corporations.

  • Take Money Out of Politics
For too long we in America have been living under a Government that is run by government of the people by the lobbyists for the rich and powerful corporations. Too many of our Senate and House of Representatives are owned and controlled by Corporations and their big money. When our US Supreme Court announced that Corporations are people, that was a strong indication that the Corporations and their big money also owned and controlled too many of our Supreme Court Justices. The only way to cleanse our political system from the currently ongoing enormous corrupting influence is to get money out of politics. We need to free ourselves of Crony Capitalism whereby a rich and powerful few are running our government and reinstate Democratic Capitalism; that is, TRUE free market capitalism which is absolutely compatible with a true democracy. TRUE free market capitalism includes corporations and investors that assume all risks and are solely responsible for all losses as well as enjoying all profits after applicable taxes. Then once again we will have government of the people by the people and for the people. Supreme Court Justice Scalia proclaimed "money is speech" therefore this amendment to the Constitution is necessary because of its Freedom of Speech provision.

  • STOP Governor Corbett's proposed budget cuts for individuals with intellectual disabilities
Governor Corbett's proposed budget would nearly eliminate the funding for families who receive intellectual disability services funded by state -only dollars. My sister Mary has been receiving funding since she became ill and my father was no longer able to care for her. The home she is currently living in run by Devereux is being forced to close. Mary and others like her are vulnerable. Governor Corbett said he valued children and adults with intellectual disabilities as fully participating members of society and that he would work to provide them with the support they need to achieve their potential. Make him fullfill that promise he made to me and the thousands of other families with relatives with intellectual disabilities!

  • Utahns should be able to renew their driver license or register a car on Saturday.
Taking time off from work to get a driver license renewed or to register a car is a lousy way to use precious employee leave time. We therefore petition the governor and state legislature to open at least one driver license and DMV office in each county in Utah on Saturdays.

  • Voter's ID and Touch Screen Voting
This concept of voter ID is not about integrity in voting -it is more about voter suppression. To keep voting honest the most important thing is to moniter the accuracy of our voting processes which now can be easily hacked to change results.
