• None of the above/Election Day National Holliday
A third option or choice on all ballots, for those that can't bring themselves to vote for either of the two major parties and still have a vote and be counted. Make election day a National Holliday so people can get to the booths to vote and not miss work or get to the polls late because of work.

  • Save the Postal Service for all Americans
In 2006 the Republican Congress under George W. Bush got congress to make the Postal Service Pay for the Health Benefits of retirees, for 75 years ahead, in 10 years. No business, public or private does this. Other than that the P.O. has had an operating surplus since.

  • Change the Senate's Cloture Rule
Requiring a super-majority even to bring a bill to the floor of the Senate for a vote is obstuction raised to the level of an art form. Bring back the Constitutional principle of majorities ruling.

  • Money in the Wrong Place Corrupts Democracy
This is not a petition but needs to be a Constitutional Amendment. Without a means to reform campaign financing and the problems caused by Citizens United our Republic is in serious danger. Campaign finance reforms need to be at local, state and federal levels. Perhaps this is too broad but without reforms we continue down the same destructive Divide and Rule path..

  • NO POLITICAL PARTIES
"United we STAND, divided we fall." The political culture of the United States is, and has been divided, competitive, hurtful, dishonest and secretive, all of which are counter to the intent and purpose of a constitutional republic, in mindful service to its citizens. The function of political parties is to divide the people against themselves, instructing them what to believe, think, feel and do. The result of such self-destructive behavior has brought us to the status of "dangerous superpower" around the world. Given this… A prudent, responsible citizen would ask themselves, "Who benefits most from a divided America? Isn't a unified citizenry better than a suffering, divided one?" Is this what you want for life, and your children's? Imagine a supreme court free of political or financial influence. Imagine legislative, executive and judicial branches of government, working harmoniously for the people, and having NO political or financial influence in their decision-making. Considering this… Would you vote for the abolition of political parties and corporate, financial or individual self-interest in government? Would you vote to STRONGLY regulate governance, and administer harsh punishment to those who transgress the the law of a true democratic republic? Imagine a nation where politics as we know it is understood to be dangerous and aberrant. Imagine a society wherein division in politics is no more. No more conflict, lies and manipulation. Make it happen, now, and reap the blessing of a true national equality. Your children and their children deserve it, and it is their birth-right!

  • Ask Congress to work full time for full time pay.
Today the House works Tuesday to Thursday when in session and takes many vacations of a week or more. Congress hasn't passes a budget approved by both houses and the president before the start of the fiscal year in ages. I would like congress to work five days a week with only federal holidays off until all portions of the federal budget have become law.

  • New Political Party
At present, the Democratic and Republican parties are beholden to entrenched interests and do not truly represent the progressive interests of a growing majority of voters. As both parties have become increasingly corrupted, fighting undeclared wars, impinging on our civil liberties, withholding information from citizens, violating due process and the like, it is essential that restoring democracy requires a 3rd political party. We could call it The Progressive Party, The Peoples' Party or The 21st Century Party.

  • Constitutional Amendment to change election cycle and process
Amendment would: 1. End the unproductive cycle of politicians spending their time and efforts to raise funds and achieve support for their re-elections instead spending their time and efforts to work with others to solve problems facing the US and its citizens, especially our growing deficit and debt; and, tax code. 2. Reduce the negative influence that special interest groups, lobbyists and big donors have on our elected officials’ words and actions; and, on the legislative process. 3. Give US citizens, especially children, a break from very negative campaigns, which occurs every two years and demonstrates how terribly grown-ups, candidates and their supporters, may act in order to gain election or re-election or power. 4. Our current elections’ cycle and process does not promote elected officials to work together: but, instead fosters division, polarization and grid lock due to politicians being more concerned about maintaining power and position by any means necessary instead of acting honorably, decently, reasonably and responsibly with other elected officials, regardless of party affiliations, for the best interests of US citizens and our great country.

  • Reform of our system of elections and terms of office.
I believe that it is time to reform our system of elections and terms of office and am sure that I am not alone. Our present system promotes the corruption of our government.
