With the advent of Super PACs after the Citizens United decision we have seen millions upon millions of dollars spent by Super PACs in the first three primary states. These ads are invariably negative in character and are played incessantly during election cycles to the point of mind numbness. The negativeness of these ads is disavowed by candidates since theoretically the Super PACs are out of their direct control and the truthfulness is often suspect. Although required to disclose donors, Super PACs routinely postpone disclosure until well after the elections they participate in. We feel that the monies for these negative ads would be better spent on the poor or on paying down the national debt.

Senators & congresspeople should not be allowed to serve more than 2 terms in office. They become complacent, lazy, & vulnerable to corruption & corporate handouts. They need to be reminded who put them in office.

Im sure this has been done but I propose congress serve 2four terms elections mid term of potus, senate remain he same. Politicial office should not be career. Once it's not others will want to serve bases on altruistic movements and not for financial gain

For our system of government to be a true democracy, no private money should be permitted in political campaigning. Furthermore, every candidate for political office should should be selected by a special committee within the political party.

By current rules, Congresspersons can pose an amendment which can have little or nothing to do with an essential bill, which will almost certainly be passed. A case in point is the allowance of loaded guns in national parks, sneakily amended to the Credit Card reform bill, which passed.

What was once a useful tool to prevent the majority from riding roughshod over the minority, in the Senate, has become a tool for preventing any work from being done and keeps the majority from meeting the needs of its constituents. It's time for the filibuster to change. If each party were limited to three filibusters, in each session of Congress, they would be used very cautiously and only for the most critical of reasons.

A constitutional amendment stating: - Corporations are not people and do not have the same constitutional rights as human beings. -The people have the right to regulate corporations. -Corporations are prohibited from making campaign contributions. -Congress and states shall have the power to set reasonable limits on election spending.

Congress gets 100% of their salary for retirement after only one term in office. Their children get student loan forgiveness. It's unconstitutional for for them to give themselves what other government employess don't get. This petetion is to bring them down to the level of everyone else in society.

Then, in the middle of December, the president and vice president of the United States are really elected by the votes of only 538 citizens -- the "electors" of the Electoral College. The electors are made up of 12 States out of 50. Do you want your state represented?

The length of time a supreme court justice can serve. It should not be a lifetime appointment. These people are not always as neutral about all subjects as they try to appear to be. A 12 year limit should be set. Lifetime apointments can become a very abusive when these people know they cannot loose their jobs due to inapproiate decisions bases on politics and personal bias

If we removed the electoral college process, every person's vote would be as important as any other person's. Currently only certain states matter in the presidential elections. Those of us in "gimme" states never see the candidates and feel our vote is not important.
