• Elected Officials cannot debase the 1st amendment
Make it illegal for any elected official to lie as an employee of the people by the people. Do not allow any official tasked with making decisions that affects the lives of the people to whom they were elected to protect to use the 1st amendment as a sham and excuse for misinformation. Make them held to a higher level of accountability due to the level of office that they hold. We, the people of the United States of America, as their employer deserve nothing less than what any employer would ask of us.

  • TO President Obama and Our CONGRESS, replace all the money withdrawn with interest owed our Trust...
We are trying to draw attention to Social Security and the fact that it IS A TRUST FUND and NOT AN ENTITLEMENT. They need to reimburse the Trust Fund all the monies they have withdrawn to balance budgets in the past by both political parties.

  • Stop Fannie Mae REO's Blind Bidding Practice
Have you ever tried to/thought about making an offer on a Fannie Mae REO Homepath property? Is it really fair for them to conduct blind bidding? Do they not think the unethical brokerages they have sell their properties give inside info to their own clients about your bid? Fannie Mae is supposedly a government agency set up to help people, and not a bank. Is this shoddy way to conduct business really helping people? Shame on a government agency to conduct business this way!

  • amendment to allow only public financing of all federal elections
As a result of the Citizens United U.S. Supreme Coust decision it will take a Constitutional amendment to get special interest money out of our federal elections. We must do this in order to to keep our politicians and elections free of the bribes proferred by wealthy individuals, corporations and PACs in their efforts to influence every decision most of elected representatives make.

  • Elect Maine's Governor by Instant Runoff Election (Ranked Choice Voting)
Paul LePage would never have become governor if we were allowed to vote by ranking candidates in order of preference. Most of the votes for Libby Mitchell would have gone to Eliot Cutler or vice versa, and one of them would have won. Within the past few years, instant run-off voting (IRV) has been successfully used in several municipal elections across the nation. IRV enables one to vote for his/her true first choice, while indicating a second and third choice candidate. In the event that no candidate garners 50% plus one vote, the candidate with the least number of votes is eliminated, and voters who ranked that candidate first have their votes recast to their second choice candidate. This process is repeated until one candidate garners 50% plus one vote. IRV avoids sequential run-off elections and enables the voter to cast a "single transferable vote," ensuring that the winning candidate has a majority.

  • Congress Cut Your Pay
Our country's representatives should show their solidarity with the American people in this time of economic downfall by taking a pay reduction. By signing this petition, we would send a message to Congress that we want to see more than just an intellectual identification with the American people. Congress will most impact the American people's faith and trust in our system with tangible sacrifice. This reduction in salary must be made immediately for optimal effectiveness.
