Term Limits for CongressThere is far too much incentive for Congresspeople to provide special treatment to special interests at the expense of ordinary Citizens, and this problem has become so great that it is more important than having people "experienced" within the political system. A two-term limit will significantly reduce this incentive, resulting in a Congress that is much more focused on constructive problem-solving for the largest number of Citizens.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Scott Brown

Florida right of recallCurrently we the citizens of Florida have no legal method to get rid of the government that is bankrupting us. Our present governor has a voter satisfaction rating that is lower than any other governor and a legislature that supports or even expands on his disastrous policies.23,109 of 25,000 SignaturesCreated by Roger N. New amendment to the constitutionThe 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year or less to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure. Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around. Congressional Reform Act of 2011 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work. If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S.) to receive the message. Don't you think it's time? THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS! If you agree, pass it on. If not, delete. You are one of my 20+ - Please keep it going, and thanks Congressional reforms, term limits, retstrictions on their pensions and privilieges that they have voted for themselfs106 of 200 SignaturesCreated by mary Rando-Eberhardt

Congressmen should have the same benefits as the masses,no special dealsWhatever Congress decides will be the healthcare for the nation, applies to members of Congress as well. What the masses pay in, Congress should pay in. In the cases of state and federal retirement programs, Congressmen should have to contribute the same as everyone else...no free rides. Their retirement pay should reflect a percentage of what they paid in...like state employees...no more; no less. This would save tax payers a lot of money, be more fair and reduce corruption in government.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cathy Teich

Elimination of Capitol Gains TaxAs the segment of society that uses Capitol Gains Tax to reduce their tax indebtedness is not of the typical wage earner class, it seems only equitable that the money derived from stock dividends, real estate appreciation, maturing bonds, and all revenues derived from such endeavors ought to be taxed at the NORMAL rate, not some super beneficial discounted rate.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by chuck boyd

National Refurendum on Congressional SalariesWe, as employers of the American Congress, should be the ones to determine the income, how it is acquired, and the healthcare, of our members/employees.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lora Eckert

Corporations Are Not People! In 1819, the Supreme Court decided, in a case entitled Dartmouth College v. Woodward that corporations had the same rights as people. That decision has been at the root of a lot of the more recent rulings which allow corporations to run roughshod over our democracy, using their almost unlimited money to fund anything they want in government, and leaving ordinary citizens with very little voice in our own government. It's time for this to stop.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nora G Rivkis

House and Senate Services should not be subsidizedMembers of the House and Senate receive subsidized services, such as food, health club, etc. They should pay fair market value for these services. In turn any member who wishes to reside in their office should pay fair market rent. They are trying to ax jobs and benefits for their constituents, why not start with themselves.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Don Spare
