"10 cities and thousands of targets"According to the Washington Post, Donald Trump and Stephen Miller are considering a "shock and awe" plan targeting as many as 10,000 families, parents, and children for mass arrest and deportation across the United States. They seem to think that the implementation of this plan will deter new migrants from coming to the U.S.-Mexico border. Remember--this is what they said about their family separation plan too, and look how hugely destructive that was. ICE raids targeting 10,000 parents and children would mean: - ICE officials with guns in our neighborhoods - Families ripped out of their homes and taken away - Children crying as families are separated again - Children stranded in schools as parents are taken away This plan would be hugely scarring and destructive, and we need to take action if we don't want to see these scenes plastered across the media. This cannot be the defining image of America. TELL CONGRESS that they cannot allow our taxpayer dollars to fund any of this. If the Trump Administration implements this plan, there should be no funding for ICE. Please SIGN and SHARE.255 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

Immigrant Veterans Deserve Better“Men and women willing to wear our uniform shouldn’t be deported by the same nation they risked their lives to defend.” – Senator Tammy Duckworth. This would seem obvious, but many of our veterans are being deported, often for non-violent charges when they turn to marijuana or other drugs to cope with PTSD after serving in combat. The Veterans Visa and Protection Act would prevent further deportations of veterans for non-violent crimes and allow those who have already been deported for non-violent crimes to return to the United States. https://www.duckworth.senate.gov/news/press-releases/one-year-after-trump-administration-deported-illinois-veteran-duckworth-re-introduces-comprehensive-bill-package-to-protect-veterans-and-servicemembers-from-unfair-treatment?fbclid=IwAR2n1nelIOWF0rqMHOrGvgwUT0KOA1bnA-7JET_VjYjJDGM8QDp3BXYhUg4 https://grijalva.house.gov/press-releases/rep-grijalva-reintroduces-veterans-visa-and-protection-act-of-2019/572 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Douglas R Benner

Join Mother's Day Rally to End Child Detention and Family SeparationOne of the largest encampments of children who have been separated from their families, and are now held indefinitely in detention, is close to my home. I had the opportunity to remind them, across a field, and in their own language that: We Have Not Forgotten Them; That We in America Believe and Work for Human Rights; that they are not alone, because all our hearts are breaking with them. All Americans must stand for our democratic values and governance. Beyond politics this is a matter of Humanity -- there are no taking sides in front of injustice. We must stand together! Drop all charges against No More Deaths volunteer Scott WarrenOur son Scott is facing three federal felony charges for providing humanitarian aid to two migrants in the southwest borderlands of the United States. We’re asking you to sign this petition demanding that the US Attorney’s office drop all charges against him. He has been charged with two counts of felony harboring and one count of conspiracy for, according to the charging documents, "providing food, water, clean clothes and beds". If convicted, faces up to 20 years in prison. Each year persons fleeing poverty, oppression, and violence in their home countries make the desperate decision to confront Arizona’s western desert, one of the harshest landscapes on earth, in search of a better life. For many, the decision ends in a painful and lonely death in the remote reaches of the Sonoran Desert. No one deserves to die in the desert. No one deserves to go to prison for trying to prevent those deaths. The work of Scott and other humanitarian aid volunteers to alleviate suffering should be upheld as standards of virtue for all of us rather than punished by threat of prison. Help us show the USAO that there is widespread support for humanitarian aid work and that prosecuting our son is both morally wrong and politically unpopular. Scott’s devotion to his humanitarian work consistently inspires us. We first realized the extent of his commitment when we saw – as parents, felt – the pain he suffered upon encountering the bodies of migrants in the desert, and the deep sense of responsibility he feels to commemorate their journeys both as migrants and as human beings. That the USAO would seek to criminalize compassion and respect for human dignity is unconscionable.138,990 of 200,000 SignaturesCreated by Pam & Mark Warren

Tell Border Patrol: No more immigrant children dying in US Government custodyAnother child's life. Gone while in custody of the United States Government. A teenager from Guatemala was being warehoused at one of the Southwest Key facilities — facilities where charges of child abuse have been raised repeatedly over the past year — and became very sick. He was dead a few days later. He had been in United States custody for 10 days. He is the third child to die in federal custody over the last six months. Seven year old Jakelin Caal Maquin died in December. Eight year old Felipe Alonzo-Gomez died a couple of weeks later. No more.246 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Anurima Bhargava

We say NO to Industry City's Rezoning of Sunset ParkSunset Park has the largest, working-class industrial waterfront in Brooklyn, but Industry City wants to turn it into a playground for the rich. Industry City wants to change current zoning to build large chain retail stores and luxury hotels, which may lead to luxury housing. We must protect long-time residents, workers, and small, locally-owned businesses from rising rents and displacement. This is our neighborhood. We should be deciding the future of our waterfront and neighborhood, not private developers like Industry City. Families Belong TogetherWe as citizens of conscience are appalled and sickened by the deplorable and despicable actions of this administration towards the refugee children and their families. It is well documented that the human brain keeping development until we reach the age of 21 and traumatic events impair the brain’s functioning and can lead to permanent brain damage with high incidences of life ling depression and anxiety. There is nothing more traumatic than a child being separated from its parents. Children are being kept in cages, there are multiple reports of sexual abuse (178 confirmed cases perpetrated by staff, 1,303 of peer on peer) and physical abuse compounding the trauma of being separated from their parents. Children are missing out on critical developmental opportunities for education and socialization. Over 1,500 of the separated children are lost, this administration that separated the children from their families has no idea where these children are. This administration was warned by experts in the field of childhood development that this policy of separating children from their families would cause great and irreparable harm to the children and yet this administration chose to promulgate this policy as a deterrent because of the harm it would cause. This is the very definition of evil. We the undersigned, citizens in the United States of America, implore our government to do everything in its power to: halt the separation of refugee children from any family member when they ask for asylum at our borders; immediately reunite children currently being held in what amount to concentration camps with their families; investigate all allegations of abuse on behalf of the children being held in said camps and detention centers and hold those accountable to the letter of the law and; make preparations to ensure citizen oversight of the camps and detention centers immediately.224 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Linda LeTendre

Fight William Barr's immigration reversalLast Tuesday, Attorney General William Barr issued an order that reverses current immigration policy. This order directs immigration judges to deny migrants a chance to post bail. This would affect adult asylum seekers traveling alone who enter this country at a place other than an established port of entry from being allowed a bond hearing regardless of whether or not they pass a credible fear interview. This order, expected to go into effect in 90 days allowing ICE time to increase bed space, will unilaterally expand mass incarceration. Forcing thousands of people to languish in public and private detention facilities is a design to cause asylum seekers to give up hope and return to the very situations from which they flee. Such a ruling flies in the face of the 1951 Refugee Convention that prohibits the penalizing of asylum seekers based on their manner of entry.176 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Emily Tuckman

Legalization After CollegeAccording to the Texas monthly, there are approximately 1.68 million undocumented immigrants residing in Texas. i was born in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas where there are over 200,000 undocumented immigrants that have fled from the dangers in Mexico in attempt to start a better life in the U.S. Many of these people, once they complete high school or college, they are unable to get a job based of their status in the U.S. Seeing these people work hard on a daily basis nonstop and then watching them leave back to Mexico is heartbreaking. But if they were to be granted the status based off of their hard work and effort and proof of wanting be a good asset to the country. If done like this, it would be a great common ground for both the Liberal and Conservative standpoints.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Celeste Robles

FOR A OPEN BORDER POLICY IN THE U.S.I'm starting this petition because I am an immigrant who has been affected by these immigration events that have happened in the past few years. Also, after doing some research, I found all the benefits that an open border policy could bring to the U.S.29 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Juan Pablo Arcila

Attention Corporate America: Don't Let Hate Into Your BoardroomsDozens of Trump administration officials—including recently-resigned DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen—were responsible for planning, implementing, and defending the horrific family separation policy. After these officials leave government, they shouldn't be able to take refuge in America's corporate corner offices and boardrooms. Children were torn away from their parents and placed in cages. It was an image the Trump administration hoped would send a message to migrant families heading north for asylum: if you come here, this could happen to you. The cruelty of the policy was matched only by the incompetence of its execution. Administration officials did not keep the records needed for reuniting families, nor did they properly vet employees responsible for looking after these children. Because of their negligence, children have been physically abused. Because of their negligence, children have been sexually assaulted. Because of their negligence, children have died. Their inaction and negligence did not happen in a vacuum. Senior members of the Trump administration let this happen and they should be held accountable, not rewarded.958 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Karl Frisch

Not one more dime for Trump's out-of-control deportation forceSecretary Nielsen recently wrote to Congress asking for additional funding for Trump's deportation force—even though the Department of Homeland Security has received over two billion dollars that they are choosing to not use for humanitarian needs at the border. She even asked for legislation to terminate established protections for unaccompanied children and families. The Trump administration is pushing its racist, anti-immigrant agenda by choosing to treat people inhumanely at the border in order to demand more money and increased power for its deportation force. We cannot allow this to happen. America's immigration agencies—ICE and CBP—are broken by design. These agencies are built on fear and harm, separating families and violating the human rights of those seeking a better life and safety in America. We need an immigration system that welcomes and cares for people, a system rooted in humanity. But the Trump administration, and Sec. Nielsen, are doing everything they can to create a dramatic situation at the southern border to justify force and cruelty. Congress must defend the critical protections enshrined in the bipartisan Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA) and the Flores Settlement Agreement and reject any action the Trump administration takes to undermine either or increase funding for these unhinged agencies.650 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Greisa Martinez, United We Dream
