• Help Refugees- Inclusion Beyond All Borders: "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywher...
One person becomes displaced across the globe every 2 seconds. By the end of 2017, there were 68.5 million individuals who were forcibly displaced, with 25.4 million being refugees, and 3.1 million being asylum seekers. There are more than 200 immigrant prisons and jails in the U.S. with corporations detaining approximately 15,000 people per day. The conditions of detention centers are appalling and can traumatize any individual who stays for a long period of time. As active citizens of the Land of the Free, we can and will not sit back and watch as the mistreatment of individuals continue. We must fight for what is right, for equality, tolerance and, more importantly, acceptance.

  • Add your official comment: Stop Trump's cruel attack on immigrant families
**Please leave a comment to say why you oppose this policy change. Your comment will be delivered as an official public comment.** On October 10, the Trump administration unveiled a new proposed regulation that penalizes immigrant families for simply accessing basic needs to feed their children and keep their families healthy. Under the proposed regulation, the "public charge" rule would allow Trump to establish a rigged immigration system where green cards would only be available to the wealthy few while immigrant families — many with U.S. citizen children — with modest incomes could be denied the possibility of a permanent future together. The Trump administration is required by law to post this unjust proposed order on Regulations.gov for 60 days before finalizing the regulation, to give the public the opportunity to weigh in. If people like you and I post comments against the order, we stand a better chance of disrupting or even stopping it. We have until December 10 to submit as many comments as possible. When the Trump administration attacks marginalized communities, he attacks the character of our nation. People nationwide have taken a stand each time this administration has launched an attack on the most vulnerable among us and, now, it's time for us to take a stand again.

  • Stop the US from Indiscriminately Teargassing Refugees!
The fact that Trump’s atrocities at the border have escalated to gassing toddlers is a CLEAR sign of the need for URGENT action!

  • Reunite the separated immigrant children
Wrenching these children from their parents was an incredible travesty in the first place. To let the anguish continue is no doubt causing deep trauma (especially to the children) that could become permanent if not immediately and effectively addressed. If their reunification is delayed any longer, perhaps those responsible should be held in contempt of court and dealt with accordingly.

  • Family Separation at the Border
This is an issue in our present day because families should be sticking together, especially immigrant/minority families, to deal with the crisis our country has to deal with today, Donald Trump being President. He should not be allowed to make such unjust regulations such as hauling parents away from their kids, and have kids living in cages as part of their chapter of horrors. It ruins the United States' image of freedom, liberty, and diversity. We already have restrictive national security that we have to deal with, but let's not have ourselves thinking that the separation of families is okay.

  • Bring Back Funding For DACA!
Everyone deserves the equal opportunity to get job positions and make a living for themselves. When young people come to America, it is often harder to find jobs or an education. But, if there is more funding put into DACA, then a path can be created that will lead them in the right direction.

  • Refugee Caravan: Hear Their Stories
A caravan of refugees has been walking as far as from Honduras all the way to the U.S.-Mexico border to escape their dangerous realities back home. They are forced to leave their homes because of gang violence, abusive governments, and more. Trump says they are criminals but he is wrong- they are families and people who are in search of a safer, better life.

  • Tell 7-Eleven to end its abusive practices against immigrant franchisees!
Media outlets recently reported how Joe DePinto, the CEO of the 7-Eleven company, has called ICE on franchisees who have organized and filed complaints against the company’s controversial policies. The popular convenience store company, which grew into an American icon thanks to the hard work of immigrants and their families, was proud of its diverse staff and franchisees - right up until the federal government reprimanded it a couple of years ago after failing to handle legal issues of some well-known franchise owners. Now, the company's new paranoid CEO, Joe DePinto, is launching a full-frontal assault against any franchise he suspects of being a troublemaker or underperformer. Most notably, DePinto has planted hidden cameras and listening devices inside stores, handed franchisees’ personal information to the federal government so that immigration authorities could inspect their stores, and sent unmarked vehicles after certain store owners who complain about 7-Eleven contentious practices - which often eat into franchisee profits and force them to carry unsustainable inventories. By allowing Joe Depinto's behavior to go unchecked, 7-Eleven is demonstrating how far it's willing to go to abuse and intimidate the franchisees that helped build the company - especially those who are people of color or come from immigrant backgrounds. It is shameful for a company like 7-Eleven to allow Joe DePinto to demonize store owners who want to earn an honest living, especially by enabling him to use the same hateful and racist tactics Donald Trump uses to intimidate minorities. 7-Eleven must reform its abusive corporate culture immediately!

  • Send troops on the border home IMMEDIATELY!
Donald Trump’s entire strategy during the 2018 midterm elections was to use immigrants to stir up fear and turn out his base. We called it the “divide and distract” strategy, and it failed. Republicans lost big time. Trump’s main target was the “migrant caravan”, a group of migrants moving north from central America, few of whom may ever make it to the United States. The migrants are peacefully looking for a way to escape the violence and poverty of their homes, but Trump falsely portrayed them as terrorists and criminals. To underscore his point, Trump sent more than 5,000 of our troops to the U.S.-Mexico border, even though they had nothing to do there. Our troops remain there even though — surprise, surprise — Trump has completely stopped talking about the migrant caravan after the election. Fox News went from 204 mentions of the caravan a week before the election, to a mere 16 mentions afterward. The migrant caravan has never been a national threat or emergency. That it was ever treated as such is a farce. Yet our troops continue to be stationed at the border for NO REASON than Trump’s twisted political games. Tell the White House: bring our troops home from the border NOW.

  • Salesforce Pledge
Dear Mr. Benioff, In solidarity with the thousands of undocumented immigrants who live in fear for their lives everyday, we, students at Stanford, pledge to refrain from interviewing with Salesforce until it fully withdraws from its contract with Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) to modernize its staff recruiting process, manage border activities, and engage with citizens. Your support for San Francisco’s homeless funding measure, Prop C, while helpful to the thousands of unhoused people in San Francisco, does not exculpate you from the harm your company continues to inflict on undocumented immigrants by hiring more Border Patrol agents. Advocacy organizations like Mijente and RAICES--led by and serving undocumented people--have explicitly and consistently asked you to cancel this contract and you have refused, citing that none of this technology enables the separation of families. Unfortunately, family separation has been a hallmark outcome of this deportation machine for years. You have prided yourself on “disrupting” social good in the tech world. Providing this software to CBP is not “disrupting” anyone’s world except those risking their lives to escape violence. What if instead of guns and your software, Border Patrol agents were armed with food and water for migrants making the trek to seek asylum? And what if instead of providing the software to CBP you opened an office in Honduras and employed people there? We are asking you to draw a line in the sand for the ethics of technology, where the racist head of our country cannot. Come to the right side of history and cancel the contract.

  • Tell Congress: Cut funding to ICE and CBP
The Trump Administration is seeking billions of dollars for the southern border wall, border technology, and more agents. Each of these asks is unacceptable. The wall is a hateful symbol of exclusion, and coupled with increased technology, will further militarize and surveil border communities. CBP agents and officers are at the front lines of Trump’s aggressive family separation policy and operate with little to no accountability for the abuses and terror that they inflict upon those arriving to our border and those that live in border communities. ICE detains hundreds of thousands of immigrants behind bars every year. This oppressive, inhumane and deadly system of detention continues to grow bigger, less transparent and less accountable. ICE continues to overspend their appropriated funds while counting on bailouts from Congress. All the while they are expanding detention and becoming increasingly secretive about their work. Hunger strikes, reports of physical and sexual abuse, and retaliation against those that speak out highlight the worsening conditions and opposition to treating immigrants with dignity. CBP and ICE have shown that more funding leads to more harm. Increasing funding to either of these agencies is unworthy of discussion. We demand that you stop the growth of the harmful detention and deportation machine and support significant cuts to ICE and CBP.
