• Off The Streets: Allow The Use For Marijuana Recreational
    I have several friends & one family member who have been arrested one or more times simply for the petty possession of marijuana. This harmless drug is putting the wrong citizens in jail for all the wrong reasons.

  • Ban Assault Weapons NOW
    When the mass murder occured in Conncecticut it was the final straw. Every mass shooting is appalling, but 20 kindergarteners & first graders litterally vaporized by an assault weapon.....we MUST insist on banning assault weapons and their multi round ammunition magazines. We are planning to deliver the petition to Congressman Lattas' office in Bowling Green on March 7th at 2:00pm

  • WELL REGULATED REQUIREMENTS FOR PURCHASE OF AMMUNITION;
    Reguirements of proof of weapon registration and background checks for purchase of ammunition; clearance of eligibility to make purchases; registration of all purchases into data bank used for checks. The focus is upon what is possible to regulate. Obviously, restriction of gun ownership and possession is not feasible, but control of ammunition is feasible to regulate. At 72 years old, I am tired of excuses and no courage to address a problem that has reached a national crisis and denial continues from NRA and greedy weapons industry.

  • Inmate sentencing
    This petition is in regards to certain inmates being given a more harsh sentence than others for the same crime; in conjunction with, inmates being oversenteced because of a crime that could have happened and not exactly what happened. My husband was sentenced to life in prison for being in the wrong place at the wrong time..This has destroyed my family and my children has suffered tremendously. Broken homes play a major role in the inflation of the crime rate and I feel the restoration of parents in the home will have a positive affect on our society has a whole.

  • Connecticut Needs Stronger Gun Control Laws
    After the tragedy in Sandy Hook, the State of Connecticut needs to be a national leader and a beacon of hope by enacting strong and sensible gun control laws. It would be unforgivable to fail to act on this now.

  • Police shoot two women in Torrance in search for ex-LAPD cop
    Police shot two women in Torrance as they were delivering papers from their car in the early morning. There should be no reason to fear random acts of violence and especially not from the police. These officers did not even hesitate or ask questions before they opened fire and shot over 30 bullets into the back of a civilian truck. Injuring hardworking, unarmed Americans in the process. Our police force should have more discipline than a junkie with a weapon. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2013/02/torrance-shootings.html

  • Tell Joe Donnelley to support reducing gun violence.
    Newly elected Democratic Senator from Indiana Joe Donnelly is refusing to support Pres. Obama's efforts to reduce gun violence. Instead of helping his constituents he is helping the NRA leadership and gun manufacturers. Owning guns endangers gun owners and innocent children!
