• Repeal Maryland's Death Penalty This Year
Death penalty repeal in Maryland this year has passed the Senate! This means the bill has unprecedented momentum, but the House vote is still expected to be very close. It is likely to happen THIS WEEK, so please take action right now and call on your state Delegates to vote for repeal.

  • Security Turnstiles at entrances to protect citizens
The gun issue may last a long time. Security Turnstiles would be a great deterant for thows who would inter a school or government building with guns or knives. What if a teacher has flipped out. And deside to harm the children in a school.

  • Gov. Siegelman's Unjust Imprisonment
Former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman was sent to prison for something that has never been a crime – accepting a campaign contribution. As governor, Siegelman advanced a ballot referendum to create a state lottery with revenue dedicated to education. Health care executive Richard Scrushy contributed $250,000 to the lottery campaign. None of this money went to Siegelman. Later, Siegelman appointed Scrushy — as three previous Republican governors had done — to a health-care-related state board, three members of which are required by law to be health-care professionals and all members of which serve without pay.

  • Governor Brown: Exonorate wrongfully convicted Keith Doolin
Keith Doolin was wrongfully convicted in 1996. The court has established that a miscarriage of justice has occurred in this case. Much delayed D.N.A. testing finally excluded Keith Doolin as a suspect, on October 3rd, 2011. Yet he remains on death row in San Quentin in 2013. I ask that Keith Doolin be exonerated immediately.

  • Governor Brown: Exonorate wrongfully convicted Keith Doolin
Keith Doolin was 21 years old when he was wrongfully convicted and imprisoned in 1996. It has now been disclosed in the Habeas Corpus that his attorney was negligent and did not provide necessary information to his trial experts or to the jury and failed to interview witnesses. On 10-3-2011 Keith Doolin was proven innocent by D.N.A. testing but has not yet been released. Our justice system is in bad need of repair and Keith Doolin, an innocent man, MUST be exonorated after sitting behind bars for 18 years.

  • Mandate "Smart Gun" Technology
I am a middle school teacher who works in a building with inadequate security. Our state, county, and residents lack the funds to secure the school. Please urge the President, US House, and US Senate to mandate "smart gun" technology.

  • The Death Penalty in Florida
I, along with friends from Amnesty International, Valencia college, UCF, PeaceBuilders with Justice of Florida, and professionals like Joe Durocher, have worked against the death penalty for many years want to change the unjust Death Penalty in Florida. Poverty and race are more influential in the verdict than guilt. The Florida system is deeply flawed as shown by its high rate of exoneration: 24 men were released from Death Row when found innocent. Who knows how many of the 74 who were executed were also innocent?
