Increase WI Budget Funding for Alternatives to IncarcerationAs a member of JONAH, an affiliate of the state-wide social justice organization WISDOM, we need to invest $75M in our 2013-2015 state budget for Treatment Alternatives and other Diversions (TAD). Starting with non-serious offenders, we need to promote drug treatment, mental health care, and other corrective services to make our communities safer and much more just, all while saving $2 for every $1 spent. I have benefited from years of mental health services. Therefore, I believe all have the right for a 2nd chance, a 3rd chance, through corrective services. Under these Alternatives, non-violent offenders stay in their community for true rehabilitation, rather than being warehoused in jails and prisons. They are intensely supervised by a judge, human service professionals and rehabilitation providers. For evidence-based studies that show the success of such alternatives, go to www.prayforjusticeinwi.org.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mark Ruddy

"AARON DOTY LAW""LET`S STOP THE VIOLENCE BETWEEN KIDS/YOUNG ADULTS" A young man in Sebring,Fl , Aaron Doty, 20 years old, was beaten at a party by two men while others at the party watched. No one did anything but video taped the fight instead of calling 911, No 911 calls were made at or after the party. Aaron was later brought to the woods by the same two men in someone elses truck, whom is not being charged and they set him on fire while he was still alive . Aaron was left for dead while not a single person helped him. he was found dead on 6/9/2012. All those people who stood there and watched an innocent person slowly die, and did not help him or call 911 should be charged with accessory after the fact to his death. It needs to be a law that if you see someone helpless being abused or see someone whos life is in danger or anything of that nature to call 911 to save someones life. I speak for others when I say we want justice for Aaron Doty. This law needs to be in effect to protect the innocent and punish the guilty!!!3,446 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by Roxanne M Judd

Bipartisan Way to Reduce Gun ViolenceThe debate on what to do about guns is rancorous and politically log-jammed. Remember the saying "If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns"? Let's address THAT issue in a way that everyone, including the NRA, will agree can help.21 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Greg Smith

Pardon for Ronny Lopez Jr.In 2001, Ronny Lopez Jr. made a terrible mistake, and was held accountable by the Hawaii Judicial System. He has since fulfilled all requirements, did his time, changed his life around, has had no problems before or since. He works actively to help others as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, and is trying to raise a wonderful family in the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. In the last 2 years, 4 prominent recovery centers on the island of Oahu wanted to offer him stable, long-term, positions based on his credentials, experience, and expertise, however could not because of archaic and special interest based Federal laws barring him because of his criminal history. With his current position disappearing come this May, the security and well-being of his family is in crisis if he cannot receive a pardon and find suitable employment. He put in his application for pardon in August of 2011, and the Paroling Authority did not start working on it until September of 2012. Time is running out, and the security of his family, including two beautiful children, is on the line. If you believe in change and if you believe everyone deserves a second chance, please sign the petition and show your support.81 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ronny Lopez Jr.

US Attorney- Northern District of Ohio: Grant Diversion or Deferment programs for 1st time felony...I have a family member who was targeted by a criminal who befriended her and then made her do something illegal by threatening her life and her families life. She is now facing felony charges even though she was the victim. She has never been in any criminal trouble, comes from a great family and now face having a felony conviction on her record because this administration does not grant diversion plans or deferment programs. Felony records will haunt someone for life and each circumstance should be considered. These harsh punishments to innocent people that are clearly victims are life altering in a negative way. I ask that you contact the US Attorneys office -District of Northern Ohio to change this action.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kim Mayo

Stop disabling our young people for doing stupid things under ageIf someone under the age of 18 commits a sex crime, they are put on the registry and no one will hire them or rent to them. They become disabled at a very young age and remain that way for the rest of their lives.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jackie Hebrank

Legalize Marijuana in MontanaFive years of my life was spent on probation for possession of marijuana, and during this time I was virtually unemployable. Millions across the nation are effected by the drug war and the amount of money spent on prohibition is unacceptable and obviously unproductive. We in Montana are smarter than this. Let's follow in Washington and Colorado's footsteps. Legalize and tax marijuana in Montana and use the tax dollars for education, something that actually will lower drug use.3,936 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by Anthony Varriano

Require registration for all sex offendersIf an inmate is caught sexually assaulting, sexually battering, assaulting with intent to commit rape they are arrested in prison, called an "In House Arrest" most of these cases are heard by the Prison Board/an Administration Hearing and a disciplinary action is handed out to the offender. The offense may be put on their arrest record, however, upon Parole or Probation they are not required to register as a sex offender.34 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jennifer Lynn Jackson
