End The Prohibition: Legalize Marijuana FederallyDear MoveOn.org Supporter: End the Prohibition of medically prescribed marijuana and also the using of marijuana recreationally. The only effect the "War On Drugs' has, as far as pot is concerned, is to keep an increasingly vicious group of drug criminals and their international banking cohorts, also criminals, in ridiculous wealth and power to corrupt the political systems of the world even more every day. People will get pot if they want it, just as they did alcoholic beverages 90 or 100 years ago, and all that money could be accruing to the US Treasury, from taxes and direct sales, where it is obviously direly needed (instead of wasting more money on a futile and humanly destructive additional war). This is the one federal policy area where I can not agree with the rationale of the President, whatever that is, because I have asked President Obama and his staff to let me know what the rationale could possibly be for so regressive a policy) in three letters, over the last six months, and I have had no response from anyone. I am a strong supporter of the President in most other areas, and he did answer me personally when, in previous months, I advocated his landslide reelection publicly. I still hope he will do so on this important issue as well. My personal involvement in this issue involves my father's glaucoma some years ago, I have also suggested, if he is generally against smoking for health reasons, that he allow marijuana consumption in the liquid form known as "cannabinol." Public attitudes are obviously changing, witness the surprising reversals in Colorado and Washington states, where marijuana was decriminalized even for recreational uses, as well as prescribed medical ones. Ask him to explain what he hopes to gain. Terry Alden Cupertino, California January 22, 201332 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Terry Alden

Constitutional Amendment for Real Gun ReformThe only effective solution to gun violence in the United States is a new amendment. Gun control laws have been impotent in curbing the violence for three primary reasons; 1) interpretation of the constitution limits implementation. 2) well intended laws have been subverted by the gun advocates.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ronald Herman Symansky

State Entrapment LawsOur family members along with our selves in the state of Ohio are now being threatened by the very people we pay to protect and serve us. The legal system of Ohio is being miss-used for the personal agenda's of the law enforcement officers. The protection and the rights of the general population of Ohio should be our top priority and the reinstatement of the State Entrapment Laws will help with this process The reinstatement of the rights of the people of the Stat of Ohio. Where the burden of proof is on the legal system. The police must must read the ares-tee's their rights. FREE THE INNOCENT FROM WRONGFUL CONVICTIONSMillions of innocent Americans are wrongfully incarcerated. Our justice system is broken when innocent men and women have their freedom taken away. Harold Scism of Florida is one of the many Americans who is innocent and incarcerated. He is in the appeal process. There was no evidence, nor DNA evidence, yet an injustice occured as in the cases of millions of other American men and women.54 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dolores R. Peers

Gun Violence, and Innocent Victims charged for first degree murders, Discrimination against Afric...My petition is about three prominent issues: Gun Control for each citizen who has possession of any armed weapons (guns or otherwise) in this community (Especially citizens who are violent prone). Secondly an individual charged with cases (They are/have served a sentence) but they did not commit should in some way be compensated and their name publicly and physically (on paper) cleared. The third issue is "The Fair Sentencing Act", in which people of color should have equal consideration as other White counterparts have in these cases. The forth issue is that marijuana should never be legalized in the state of Maryland even for cancer patients because that are less threatening things to use to treat cancer. Finally, those persons involved in re-entering into the community should have the proper mandated training and skills to re enter into the community for lower recidivism rates.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cheryl Dashiell

Self-DefenseThis petition is to have what is and is not considered self defense re-evaluated. My daughter ended up in a fight trying to stop four kids from bullying her. She was assaulted to the point of having several marks left on her face, neck, ears, as well as some of her hair ripped out. But I was told by officers that because she turned around and began yelling at the kids, who were yelling profanity at her and calling her dirty names, that she was considered part of the fight, and if I pressed charges, that charges would be pressed against her as well. One of the kids also video taped some of the fight on their cell phone, but the only thing it showed was my daughter holding the girl down (which she admitted to) trying to keep the girl from hitting her anymore. The child who video taped this was only made to delete the video, throwing it out as what I feel could have been used as evidence.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rhianna Rasmussen

Require every firearm sold to come with an appropriate lock.An easy way to help prevent firearm deaths in this country is to require gun manufacturers to include an appropriate gun lock with every firearm sold in this country. Whether it is a trigger lock or a cable lock that prevents a shell from being loaded, having a lock included increases the chance that the owner will use one. Thus, preventing accidental discharge, or a thief from readily using it.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Bill K.

Mayor Jacobs: Investigate Orange County's "Textgate" Scandal and Possible Sunshine Law ViolationsLast summer, organizers in Orange County, FL gathered more than 50,000 petitions earning the right to vote on the issue of Earned Sick Time for workers. Five out of six county commissioners were found to be secretly texting lobbyists to block citizens from their right to vote on this issue. The only way to restore faith in the democratic process and bring justice to 52,000 voters who legally petitioned their government is for Mayor Jacobs to call for a criminal investigation into the commissioners’ questionable actions.341 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Organize Now
