Decriminalize MarijuanaThe "War on Drugs" has proved to be a tremendous failure. Deadly violent Mexican cartels have taken control of the supplying of marijuana. Even American tourists who weren't trying to procure marijuana have been killed for being at the wrong place. The costs of U.S. enforcement are astronomical while violent crimes are put on the back burner.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Neil Jacobson

Identity Theft ProtectionIdentity theft is a growing problem for our society. However, in many cases there are no sound provisions in place to protect consumers. Having been victim of Identity theft and being accused of crimes as a result of the identity theft, all of which could have been prevented if the location had a camera or any other measure to identify the thief. This is the thing that sticks out most is that in Georgia check cashing locations are not REQUIRED TO VIDEO OR PHOTOGRAPH individuals making the transaction. Not having these measures in place allows criminals to steal checks and cash them, duplicate an individuals ID card or Driver License and use them, make fraudulent wire transactions and much more and all the while these criminals are going undetected. In the meantime causing many problems in the victims lives financially and many cases criminal with felonious charges because some locations do not have cameras or any other measure to identify individual in questionable transactions.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Glenn Drane

Petition for a New Drug PolicyThis is a petition to Pres. Obama calling on him to initiate a national dialogue on alternatives to the war on drugs. The majority of the public no longer believes we can win the war on drugs and there is widespread support for legalizing marijuana for adult use. We intend to collect as many signatures on the petition as there are nonviolent drug offenders in our nation's prisons - approx. 500,000. We plan to send the petition to the President sometime after the Democratic Party convention and use it to press him to take a position on the need to reform our nation's drug punitive drug policies.66 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Break the Chains: Communities of Color and the War on Drugs

The Wrongful Incarceration of David ThorneDavid Thorne was wrongfully incarcerated in January, 2000 after being falsely convicted in the death of Yvonne Layne. He was implicated by a mentally and emotionally impaired man, Joseph Wilkes, after Joe was arrested and threatened by police officers. No evidence led to David Thorne except the coerced statement of Joe Wilkes, who has since recanted. Despite an enormous amount of evidence and numerous statements pointing to David's actual innocence, he remains behind bars. It's time for the truth to be told. We, the undersigned, support David Thorne's efforts to win a new trial in order to prove his innocence.613 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Sue Thorne

Privatizing jails & prisonsI oppose SB 2036 and SB 2038, bills being pushed by corporate lobbyists to privatize governmental services and agencies without public input. These bills will compromise public safety, cause unemployment, and hurt communities and small businesses across Florida.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Glenn Furiato

REPEAL NDAA THE INDEFINITE DETENTION OF AMERICAN CITIZENSThe NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) allows for the indefinite detention of American Citizens without due process as allowed by the 6th Amendment of our U.S. Constitution. This means that the military can come into your home under the Patriot Act, which sidesteps the 4th Amendment, and arrest you, and indefinitely detain FOREVER, for any reason they see fit. The language in NDAA is not specific as to what a person would be detained for. They could assume your posts on Facebook are associated with a dangerous organization or terrorism. The bill is written in such a way that they have full autonomy to decide what they consider a threat to be.38 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Anthony Jordan

Support State Rep. Antonio Parkinson in making sure "VIOLENT RAPISTS" serve 100% of their PRISON ...This legislation is motivated by Kimberlee Morton's story. Please click on or copy the link below and paste in into your url to view her story: http://www.myfoxmemphis.com/dpp/news/local/rape-victim-fights-for-stiffer-penalties-rpt-20111103 Currently in the State of Tennessee violent rapists or those convicted of aggravated rape can and are being released "early" for good behavior. This can reduce the violent felon's sentence by years thus returning them to society. Now, the question becomes; if they can display good behavior inside of the penal system, why wasn't that same behavior displayed while they were in society prior to their convictions? This is not only "an insult" but a "horriffic offense" to the mothers, grandmothers, sisters, daughters, aunts and other women in our communities. There is a possibility that this legislation will carry a fiscal note (need money to finance). Some legislators will try to move this bill behind the budget, thus making it harder to get passed. However, can we really put a cost on the safety and well being of the women and children in our lives. Let's create momentum for legislation that will make criminals think twice about their actions. We can do this by putting pressure on the Tennessee House, Senate and Governor's office to protect our women and children by passing this bill!645 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Antonio Parkinson

CHARGE STACEY CAMPFIELD WITH ETHICS VIOLATIONSenator Stacey Campfield asked Del Shores for $1000 to debate him against his "Don't Say Gay Bill". This request violated a statute within the jurisdiction of the State Ethics Commission. After five months of investigation, it is time that Tennessee Attorney General's Office make that determination so The State Ethics Commission can file formal charges against Campfield.1,239 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Del Shores
