Silence the train noise for our residentsRecently all of the Tamarisk trees were removed from each side of the train tracks adjacent to our property which has drastically altered the environment. We now have an obscene increase in the volume of train noise as well as unsightly views of the freeway and the train at all times of the day and night. With the removal of the trees the wind now blows sand and exhaust particulates unimpeded in our direction. The air quality has been negatively impacted. We also believe that our property values have been adversely diminished. We are petitioning the City and/or the Union Pacific Railroad to take responsibility to mitigate this problem that one or the other has created. High sound deadening walls have been erected in various communities throughout California where such problems have been created by altering the environment. It is the responsibility of the party or parties who altered the environment to immediately take corrective action. We appreciate your prompt action.203 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Amanda Vargas

TENNIS CHANNEL STOP ADVERTISING KILLING WILDLIFE!Dear animal friends, the Tennis channel is running ads by Bass Pro Shop outfitter promoting HUNTING! This is unacceptable! Please help stop this terror on wildlife by signing this petition and sharing it with all your friends and family. It is the most perverted, shocking, disgusting and disturbing thing to see ads on a sporting channel program that targets young children to be indifferent and insensitive to animals, to desensitize them to be cruel towards wildlife. Thank you.....156 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Alfredo Kuba

Chancellor Koch: Don't Starve Cats!In April 2018, a group of cat advocates sterilized, vaccinated, and microchipped 19 of the University of Illinois Springfield's 20-30 feral cats. Since then, the university has prohibited any further feeding or TNVR, opting instead to trap and turn the cats over to Sangamon County Animal Control to be put to death. Sterilization is an effective means of regulating animal populations without killing. Eight of the adult cats were females in heat, and we estimate that spaying them prevented approximately 60 kittens from being born. An additional two adult females with a total of six young kittens were trapped. The kittens were placed in an adoption program, and the females were sterilized and returned. We estimate there are another ten to fifteen cats who need our help, but the university prefers to arrest anyone mediating on the cats' behalf, even if it is not against the law to do so. Free living cats pose no threat to anyone, but depend on humans for food.2,711 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Alicia Madden

Kent State May 4th Memorial: Bring It Home!I was among the KSU faculty members who protested the rejection of the Segal sculpture in 1978, and since then continue to stand in solidarity with many others in firm opposition to all attempts to deny, distort and/or dilute the tragic and true meaning of what happened at KSU on May 4, 1970, when government troops opened fire upon an anti-war protest, killing four students and wounding nine others. Segal's sculpture captures that meaning like no other memorial. Bringing this exiled sculpture home to KSU, if only for a year on loan, will mark an important step toward overcoming denial, enhancing enlightenment, and promoting peace. For those who fail to learn from the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them.50 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Werner Lange

Save the Schiller Park Art Installation! There is a brilliant burst of color and creativity that brightens this small local park in downtown Rochester. Prior to it's installation several weeks ago, many crafters worked for months to create large scale knitted and crocheted artwork. Parts of this magnificent community collaboration (the tree decorations and the stop sign piece) are now being forcibly taken down after the City of Rochester backpedaled it's permission over the last week, and they want ALL the artwork gone by labor day (September 3rd). The installation brightens the community, and is a sign of what makes Rochester so welcoming and hopeful. This artwork is not in the way of anyone or hindering anything, and it should not be taken down!33 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Emma Barry

Gov. Raimondo: Debate Matt Brown in the primary!Voters have made numerous attempts to contact the Governor and her campaign -- in-person, through dozens of calls to her office, and through the press. But she still refuses to agree to debate. We are signing this as a concerned citizens, asking the Governor to agree to three debates before the Democratic primary on September 12, for the good of the state and the electorate. This petition is sponsored by Our Revolution Rhode Island and Rhode Island Progressive Democrats.394 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Nate Carpenter

Ban the use of the "N" word from all cable and network channels - Even by black people.Federal law prohibits obscene, indecent and profane content from being broadcast on the radio or TV. Yet more and more in scripts and theme songs the use of the "N" word is not just being allowed but encouraged. As a well educated black man, I find it profoundly offensive network and cable stations are with increasing frequency infecting the world with this hateful destructive word. Their justification: As long as it's spoken or sung by a black person. It doesn't seem to matter this word only falls out the faces of the most ignorant, uneducated, uncultured, illiterate among us. As long as they are black, as far as they are concerned, it's fine. IT'S NOT14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Christon Alexander
