I am sick of seeing and hearing about helpless animals being abused.

These city and state officials are really over reaching. So please let's sign this petition and make a difference. When they put a ban on Big Game fishing from shore several people I know were affected including myself. Instead of actually finding a solution to the shark attacks here in NC, (putting up shark proof nets or hiring shark spotters) they just ban all and any type of big game fishing. This is over-reaching and a violation of our rights.

Major food companies combined have spent over $100 million on anti-labeling campaigns and their trade association, the Grocery Manufacturers Association, is supporting a new bill in Congress — The DARK Act — that would prevent mandatory FDA labeling. This new industry-friendly bill will keep consumers in the dark. Unless GMO labeling is mandatory, consumers will not get the information they need to make informed choices. Quaker, a brand that prides itself on its honest and healthy image, is not being fully transparent to parents, families and consumers across the country — marketing their products on trust, but supporting anti-labeling efforts at the same time. The fireworks terrify my dog and wake my granddaughter up. People shoot them at all hours, some all year long! They celebrate birthdays, parties, etc., nothing to do with the holiday.

To show the ABC Board there is no public support for their ridiculous ruling and waste of taxpayer money in a year long investigation, hearings, and appeals.

When credit card companies, health insurers, merchants and others require us to share private personal information as a routine cost of doing business, they owe it to us to keep only a limited amount of that information, and to take every precaution to keep it secure. Right now, they’re not doing enough. Not even close. The Illinois PIRG and Attorney General Madigan backed data security and consumer protection bill passed the state House and Senate with bi-partisan support. Now we need Governor Rauner to sign the bill into law. Senate Bill 1833, sponsored by Senator Biss and Representative Williams, provides much needed consumer protections including: * Updates the information companies have to keep secure to include medical information, geolocation, sensitive consumer marketing date, login credentials for online accounts, and more. * Requires entities to adopt reasonable security measures to safeguard personal information. * In the event of a breach, requires entities to notify the Attorney General’s office. Email Governor Rauner now. Tell him to support the data security and consumer protection bill.

I like most Michigan residents are sick and tired of people bicycling along streets, a bicycle is NOT a motor vehicle, therefore it belongs on sidewalks, bike paths or designated "bike lanes" along roads, ONLY exception is if none of these are available then use the should of the road or close to it as possible, otherwise it needs to be outlawed!

Leave the Fireworks Safety Act 256 of 2011 alone. There is no need to repeal this Act as it does not stop the fireworks from being in the hands of those that incorrectly use them. This will only help keep bringing extra money into Michigan instead of sending it to other states.

The USTA LLAR4B Adult League rule only allows players to play for one team going into playoffs. Therefore, players must choose one team only, and cannot play for all their teams if they are on multiple teams and if their teams made it to playoffs. Are you a USTA captain who's had to withdraw its team at playoffs because you lost players to other teams? Or are you a player on a team who's been in a dilemma figuring out which team to commit to at playoffs? Have you been frustrated when you chose the wrong team for playoffs and sadly saw your other team move to districts without you? Many cities across the country and our own state have changed local laws and ordinances to allow for the raising of a small flock of hens. It is time for Frederick, MD to join this movement. With proper education and a little research it is very easy to raise chickens in an urban setting without fear of noise, smell or disease. At the same time you can provide your family with a very healthy choice in home grown eggs. Factory farming is failing us in many ways. This will relieve the pressure on factory farming, while giving residents the right to provide a much more humane, and safe environment for backyard chickens. Let's join cities like New York, Baltimore, Rockville, Silver Spring, Bethesda, Potomac, and many more to put food production into the hands of city residents.

This morning I heard yet another feature 2016 election story on NPR ("Clinton is 'Worried' About Bernie Sanders--But Should She Be?") in which not a single mention was made of where candidates stand on the issues facing America. Not climate change, not gun safety, not national security--only a brief passing reference to income inequality. Our democracy would be stronger if Americans could more easily determine how candidates' stances on the biggest issues match up with their own views, but NPR is not helping to make that happen.
