• SMCM Staff: Ms. Elsie
Ms. Elsie was a delight to have on campus. This was more than a job for her, she took pride in her work and cared for the students in a way that few housekeepers on campus do. She greeted students and asked about their day, actually caring to listen to the answer. She always made sure students had the supplies they needed. We ask that her status at the college be reconsidered for reasons stated above. Furthermore, because she was fired “with cause” we worry about the effect on her future in terms of employment opportunities and/or unemployment compensation. Because she was such a great worker, and person, we care as students of St. Mary's College of Maryland about her well being the same way she cared for ours.

  • Limited Purpose Annexation
Members of our community have moved to this areas to be away from the city and all the surcharges. This includes using the land for agricultural business or just leaving in a quiet area without all the hassle of the city. Some of the land owners have passed their land from generation to generation without the need of the city. The county provides all the resources required for the land owners and the need of the city is not required. Please allow us to have a vote in the limited purpose annexation.

I am a contractor with the CDC working right beside FTE's at the CDC in the Federal Government. FTE's were awarded back pay after they returned to work from the government shutdown, while Government Contractors were not paid.

it is the right of others to know if any special accommodations are made in issuing Driver's licence.in my view they tend to be a higher risk for accidents.

  • Ask Sephora to change the offensive name of their lipstick color: Celebutard.
As the mother of a special-needs child, I find this name highly offensive. I am disappointed that such a well-respected company would offer a product that has such an insensitive name. "The R Word", or any version thereof, is simply unacceptable.

  • Don't Add Fuel to the Fire: Fight for Hybrid-Friendly Gas Stations
Currently, gas stations are not environmentally conscious, cost effective, or convenient for Hybrid car owners. Hybrid cars are consistently gaining popularity and gas stations should begin to cater to their needs to improve environmental impacts and the cost for hybrid car owners.

  • Keep Jill Rappaport's Bow To Wow Segment Alive!
Jill Rappaport’s BOW TO WOW series on the NBC Today Show has had a 100% adoption rate and it has been brought to our attention that the NBC Today Show plans to cancel her segment. Over 5 ½ years Jill has saved millions of animals lives because of the visibility of this segment across the country. She has made going to a shelter to adopt fashionable when people wouldn't even look at a shelter pet. The awareness that she has brought to the animal and the shelter world has made great strides in helping to save millions of lives! Without this wonderful segment perfectly adoptable animals will be forgotten and euthanized. Don’t let NBC’s Today Show cancel her segment! Please sign this petition to show NBC, including the producer of the segment, Don Nash, how vital this segment is to its viewers and shelter animals alike!

  • Censorship in Music
As a fan of underground rap I have found that the government limits these artists from expressing themselves fully on regards to government issues. These artists are unable to say what they want and express their opinions because the government limits a right that we are all granted: freedom of speech. Everyone should be able to say what they want without being limited.

  • Bring Native America to Syndication
News, BET, LOGO, and CBN have their own network, as well as different cultures and races. I feel cheated as a paying customer of Comcast Cable and DirecTV that I am not offered a station to watch Native American shows--this is the true history of how and why we are America today, and we should have access to it. We the People have the right to see and experience programing of the most beautiful culture of them all
