• Tell Illinois lawmakers to pass Election Day voter registration
Wouldn’t it be easier if you could register to vote on Election Day—instead of needing to worry about meeting a deadline weeks before in order to participate? In eight states you can do just that—but Illinois isn’t one of them. That’s why we’re working to pass Election Day voter registration in Illinois this year. Election Day voter registration doesn’t just make voting easier—it also strengthens our democracy. Election Day voter registration has been shown to increase voter turnout, and it particularly benefits young people and those who recently moved. Plus, it reduces the cost of elections. Chicago Votes succeeded in passing online voter registration in Illinois in 2013, so we know we can make real change if enough people get involved. Sign today to support modernizing and improving our democracy by bringing Election Day voter registration to Illinois. • Make the Illinois Prairie Path Bicycle-Friendly
Riders of the Illinois Prairie Path confront a decidedly Bicycle-hostile start at First Avenue, and shortly thereafter at Mannheim Road. Both multi-lane streets should have traffic lights that bike-riders could activate, or pedestrian/bicycle overpasses. Instead we face a death-defying gauntlet of traffic.

  • Introduce the Bob Semple Tank into World of Tanks
New Zealand has for too long been ignored by Wargaming in it's popular online game World of Tanks. In light of Serb's recent statement that if enough people sign a petition, they will introduce new tanks even if they don't want to, this is our chance to correct this injustice!

  • Revoke Daylight Savings Time!
Twice yearly we readjust our clocks by a whole hour, only to get back where we started. Each time I hear stories of how miserable people are from having to adjust; completely exhausted, late, stressed. Regular sleep and routines are a staple of good health, so why again are we doing this? In fact, as we manipulate the time our biorhythms are affected, even throwing our hormone production awry. Daylight Savings Time is truly going against nature and I think it's time we choose to put an end to it.

  • Remove Evans name
Governor Evans is a popular name in Colorado, but I feel his name should be removed from all of Colorado. Governor Evans was directly involved in the decision to kill women and children at the Sand Creek massacre. No one would want Hitler on anything, so why should we have the name of a person that committed genocide on women and children. Lets replace Evans with Silas Soule, or someone like that.

  • KOPB 10 - Portland, OR: Air Citizen Koch
Public Television should answer to the public, meaning viewers like you and I. "Citizen Koch" is a controversial documentary about David Koch, a billionaire who donates a lot of money to Public TV. Because they don't want to upset Koch, the documentary has been pulled from showing. But we all deserve to see this important documentary about Koch. Will you join the call for a broadcast of "Citizen Koch" on Independent Lens, a Public TV program?

  • New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez: Save the Sandia Black Bear
New Mexico is suffering from the worst drought in the country causing Black Bears to forage for food in neighborhoods, which is dangerous for both people and bears. Already this summer 40 bears in the Albuquerque foothills have been trapped and either killed or relocated to hunting areas. I enjoy hiking in the Sandia Mountains and am worried that our bears may not survive the winter without emergency diversionary feeding, which has been proven to be both safe and successful in areas like Lake Tahoe, CA.

  • Senator Vogel: Senate Bill 653 out of Committee
I'm a beekeeper so I am deeply concerned about neonicotinoid pesticides and systemic genetically modified organism acting as honey bee killers are not being properly regulated. I hope state leaders in Pennsylvania's State House are smart enough to eliminate our local PA supermarkets as the end-user delivery systems for pesticides in our food by passing GMO labeling laws in PA. We are being forced to consume toxins without giving our consent. Remember what happened with regard to the hazards of smoking and being exposed to second-hand smoke without consent? Pesticide traces in the urine of children eating conventionally grown produce? Unacceptable. Pesticide traces found in fetal umbilical fluid? Unacceptable. We need GMO labeling laws now. This is the first step in recognizing that the problem of pesticides is a major health threat to human beings, too. I am reaching out to Senator Shirley Kitchen and Senator Peliggi to support Senate Bill 653 in the upcoming legislative session. Please take action. GMO labeling laws in Pennsylvania now.

  • Our streets need major repairs!
No one can deny the tough shape of our local roads. The infrastructure must be maintained. It's time to spend some tax dollars on repairing our streets, unless we all want to go backwards to unpaved roads!

  • Tell NBC: No Russia For 2013 Miss Universe Pageant
NBC Universal co-owns the Miss Universe pageant. On June 18, it was announced that the 2013 competition would be held in November in Moscow, Russia. The announcement came just one week after Russia's legislature unanimously adopted an extreme new law banning “gay propaganda” in order to crack down on its LGBT community. Under the new rules, anyone who is caught showing support for the gay community or LGBT equality can face fines or jail time for promoting gay “propaganda” to minors. Similar laws have already been used to justify violent crackdowns against LGBT people throughout parts of the country, and human rights groups have stated that the measure is in clear violation of international law. Andy Cohen, the openly gay NBC employee/Bravo star, has hosted the Miss Universe pageant for the past two years, but recently backed out of the 2013 event, citing concerns for his own safety and that of participants and spectators. Even NBC’s own employees recognize the problem with hosting an event like this in Russia in light of this new law. Just last year, the Miss Universe pageant changed its rules to allow transgender contestants to compete. The decision to host the pageant in Moscow this year is a giant step backward.
