The Koch brothers are the right-wing oil and gas billionaire duo infamous for funding the tea party. Now they want to buy the second largest newspaper chain in the country to spread their extreme views - including the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and Baltimore Sun. The Kochs have spent their fortune funding anti-worker candidates like Scott Walker, right-wing lobbying groups like ALEC, and climate-change denying "think tanks." They even warned tens of thousands of their employees that there would be "consequences" if they didn't vote for Republicans. Not exactly the kind of guys we want running some of the most respected newspapers in America. Isn't one Rupert Murdoch enough? Our newspapers are valuable sources of honest journalism. We can't let them turn into right-wing mouthpieces. Please sign our petition against a Koch brothers buyout of the Tribune newspapers.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Ministry of Information Technology (MoIT) has been dragging its feet for the past several years on the issue of auctioning of 3G licenses in Pakistan. Various reasons are given for this, from lack of interest from the Government to the Telcos not being ready for the migration from 2G to 3G. The country is not only far behind internationally (4G networks are already being rolled) but also regionally where even a war-torn country like Afghanistan has migrated to 3G. 40,000 people are killed on U.S. Highways and Interstate systems due to excessive speeds. If speeds were reduced to 25 miles per hour 40,000 lives would be save a year. Please ban all vehicles that are not governed to 25MPH and and make all speeds uniform to reduce the cost of having to display them on the roads.
