  • Tax the Church and all religous institutions
Religious institutions have got a free ride long enough. They should pay taxes like any other business. What does separation of church and state mean if religious organizations are granted special privileges?

  • Rational Daylight Saving (or none at all)
The current early onset of Daylight Saving Time in March creates more problems than it solves. It is far more disruptive to people's systems than when the change took place in April, when day length was already over 12 hours. Move the start of DST back to April and end it in October or just shift the day a half-hour later and leave it there all the time.

  • Paper Trails For Electronic Voting Machines
In the US many states are conducting elections with un-auditable voting machines puting our elections in the hands of software with no verification process or means of accurate recounting. US Elections deserve better as the world's model for Democracy.

  • Evict tenants of unit 242 MLD
On October 22nd there were five separate eyewitness accounts of Marina Bay resident, Carlos Reyes unit 242, cutting branches from the tree directly in front of unit 240. These branches contained healthy foliage that provided a natural canopy around the balcony of unit 240. They provided shade, privacy and the appealing ambiance of having a room outside. The branches were hacked off in such a poor manor that the tree is now more susceptible to obtaining a disease. The resident of 242 appears to have violated two of the policies of Marina Bay Community’s Rules & Regulations handbook. Both policies (D & F) are located on page 4 under section IV. labeled Association Property. If it is found that the resident of 242 did violate said policy then the owner of 242 has the right to break the lease per section III-E of the General Rules located on page two of the handbook.

  • Paying for it once is enough!
Urge the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to reject Congress’s request to charge fees for access to their data. Congress cites soaring costs for the data collection as the motivation for this request. This is a red herring. Most of the would-be purchasers of the data are other government agencies. As such, charging for access to NOAA’s data would be little more than robbing Peter to pay Paul. It would, however, stifle America’s tradition of free and open access to information generated with public funds. It would suppress the creativity of academics working with little or no funding. It would push the United States further along the path toward becoming a full-fledged pay-as-you-go, ownership society. Urge NOAA to reject Congress’s attempt to turn the United States into a plutocracy. NOAA is funded by tax-payer’s dollars and tax payers should have access to the data it generates. So please join me in urging NOAA to reject Congress’s request.

  • Stop The Penguins of Madagascar from Being Cancelled
After the 3rd season of The Penguins of Madagascar, the show is about to be cancelled. In October 2009, it was Nick's #2 show, airing several times a day. However, starting in Spring 2010, the airing went down, until late 2010, when it airs around once a week. The motive for this is unknown. We would like to earn The Penguins of Madagascar a 4th season and a larger and better time slot. That way, we could remind Nick that there are several people who would watch The Penguins of Madagascar if aired more, as well as make it easier for fans to watch The Penguins of Madagascar. Also, I'm not sure if anyone is signing the petition multiple times, but it invalidates the petition. In order to make the petition as legitimate and believable as possible, EVERY INDIVIDUAL SHOULD ONLY SIGN ONCE.

  • Stop Sign Installation
We, the residents of Garrison Avenue, would appreciate an installation of a stop sign at the intersection of Garrison Avenue and Bond Street and a speed bump. We feel as though this action is crucial as we are concerned with the safety if our children and the motorists who consistently speed through the neighborhood.
