• Don't reduce our Social Security benefits.
    Reducing Social Security benefits will reduce the money for our groceries, medications, health needs, and costs of daily living. We have limited income. It is difficult to stretch our budget without the income we have saved and count to have available for expenses. Our benefits are a large part of our monthly income.

  • Protect our seniors by protecting social security.
    President Obama made an offer to Republican John Boehner to cut Social Security benefits and leave in place some of the Bush tax cuts for the top 2%. The cuts in Social Security would amount to "a cut of more than 5 percent and more as the years go by." For many retirees this would mean critical cuts to benefits that cover medicine, food, and other daily necessities.

  • Social Security Does Not Add to the National Debit
    First I'd like to make sure that people are aware of the fact that Social Security does not add to the Nation Debit. It is a 'stand alone' program. It takes money into the system via payroll deduction and then pays out from that fund. The Republician Party for years have been trying to get rid of Social Security. Lately they've been trying to tie it to the Nation Debit.

  • Connecticut Politicians Save the Social Security we worked so hard for!
    We pay out of our pay checks every week for Social Security, I worked 2 jobs for 22 years and will have to work till I am in my 70's. I need the Social Security I have paid for! Please Senator Blumenthal don't let the Social Security we have all paid for our whole lives be reduced as part of a financial showdown, Social Security didn't add to the deficit it shouldn't be part of the solution!

    Decreasing the Social Security Benefits, along with Medicare. Look goverment, no one is hiring people in their 50s and up. There are NO JOBS for us to even suppliment the social security. We are barely living now. So I guess GOVERMENT WANT MORE HOMELESS PEOPLE ON THE STREETS, UNDER BRIDGES, AND LIVING IN THEIR PIECE OF CARS, if they should be so forturante to have one.     I will be receiving an increase of $28.00 for 2013 which will enable me to include vision, dental and hearing to my coverage and also pay for next year's medicare premium increase of $5.00
