• Hold PA. Sen. Pat Toomey accountable for voting to deny aid tvictims of Hurricane Sandy.
Hold Sen. Pat Toomey accountable for his unconscionable vote to block disaster relief money for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. This aid is absolutely needed by the residents of New Jersey and New Yorkt to rebuild their homes and businesses. Sen. Toomey displayed total calousness and disregard for the health, well-being, and safety of devestated Americans!!

  • Leave Social Security and Medicare out of fiscal negotiations
Rumors that entitlements such as Medicare and Social Security will be considered as a negotiation tool in the debt ceiling and to reduce the deficit. Even the President has mentioned it being on the table. Please sign this petition, warning Congress and the White House to leave Medicare and Social Security alone.

  • Relief for Victims of Hurricane Sandy
The past few years have seen a series of natural disasters that have devastated people's lives, with Hurricane Sandy's effects being the worst. Senator Kelly Ayotte voted to block federal relief for those who have suffered from the hurricane, a moral disaster that matches Sandy's natural destructiveness.

  • Do not punish non service connected veterans who receive a pension let them get married and recei...
Its very hard for a veteran to be able to prove that they got disabled due to the wars they fought my husband is got severely injured back in the vietnam war and has all kinds of problmes but was only able to get non service connected disablity even though his records got lost. The problem is that its really hard for veterans to get even non service disablity and they dont get as good of care as those who are lucky enough to get service connected. The sad thing is that my husband lost his benefits after we got married because if you are non service connected even though I am disabled myself on SSD they dont give him money. This happens to alot of veterans and I dont think its right to penalize a veteran even if it was no fault of their own they should overturn the law and not penalize non service connected veterans they should be able to get married and not be punished for getting married. I think they need to quit doing the non service connected thing because they use that as an excuse to get out of paying veterans a stipend even though alot of times records that were lost were not the veterans fault. I think if anyone who was a veteran should have respect and be able to get treated with dignity the veterans tests for disablity are toughter than social security and if the veteran is considered disabled by the veterans then they shouldnt play the non service game especially if they were in a war like my husband was in its not his fault that the va lost alot of his records.

Our families' futures aren't up for negotiation. American workers, retirees, and families have sacrificed enough. Please drop out of the CEO coalition to cut Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

  • House Representative Bohener: Release Sandy Relief Funds Now
I have volunteered in Far Rockaway and Coney Island after hurricane Sandy destroyed many homes in these areas, over two months ago. I saw the devastation first hand. It has been over 2 months and 11,000 people still don't have food, water, electricity and heat. They are living in houses infested with mold. Temperatures have dropped to subfreezing. Why is the money for Sandy relief still being withheld?

  • Cut Defense NOT Social Security and Social Programs
Do not make seniors, future retirees, middle class and less fortunate citizens pay the national debt while defense contracting corporations and their paid members of government get richer. The "Military Industrial Complex" must be secondary to ordinary citizens. Unfunded wars must end. World wide military bases must be closed. The US should stop being the worlds biggest supplier of killing war materials. Bring our boys and money home. Put the 99% of Americans first.

  • Medicar:paid for not an entitlement
Congress wants to cut Medicare "entitlements." I have paid into Medicare since it started in 1965. When I reached age 65 in 2012, I had $99.10 per month deducted from my Social Security check for Medicare. This year it went up to $104.90 per month. We paid for Medicare while working, and continue to pay, it is not a gift. Medicare cuts should be stopped.
