We need to have a progressive media answer to Fox. In recent weeks they have hired or promoted some decidedly right-wing personalities. Former Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren now has her own show on MSNBC. Former communications director for George W, Bush, Nicolle Wallace, also just premiered a new program. Likewise conservative pundit Hugh Hewitt. This week MSNBC announced that it has hired old-school conservative George Will away from Fox News.

It's completely unacceptable to ignore funding for our veterans here in MN, that need burial, a safe way to get into the Mpls. Vets Home, and Repairs and Improvements for ALL MN Vets Homes, and unacceptable to leave Winona, MN moderate to low income citizens without affordable transit services to outlying areas such as Rochester, for needed specialized medical care and other necessities that Winona doesn't have. This sends a message to the citizens of MN, that we are not valued, respected, or even cared about. Sign on before the session end date of 05/22/17, so our legislators are aware that they are accountable to us, their constituents, and that they work for us, and that we will not accept neglect as something normal.

There have been too many foolish decisions by Trump. He needs to be stopped before he does irrevocable damage to all of us.

However, instead of expanding federal programs to rebuild rural America, the Trump Administration is demoting and cutting the only program at the United States Department of Agriculture solely focused on supporting small towns and rural communities. Recently, Donald Trump’s Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Sonny Perdue released a plan eliminating the Undersecretary of Rural Development which means that rural communities will no longer have an equal seat the USDA table. This is the first attack on rural America by the Trump Administration. Just weeks ago, the Trump administration attempted to wipe out rural business programs through the appropriations process. Federal USDA programs should prioritize rebuilding small towns and rural communities, not international trade that only benefits the millionaire and billionaires in the agricultural industry. I'm starting this petition because as a disabled person and a person who's parents are receiving social security, I feel that these issues are not a privilege but a right for people who have worked all their entire lives. I have worked for over 30 years and I put into social security and medicare. We should help this poor, the sick and our children.

Edwin T. Pratt was an accomplished civil rights leader and the director of the Seattle Urban League. He stood up for school desegregation and fair housing. He moved with his wife and young daughter to Shoreline Washington, a suburb of Seattle, to set an example of how we can all be neighbors. He was assassinated on the doorstep of his home in January of 1969. He was an important person and he had a huge impact on others. The purpose of this petition is to honor Edwin T. Pratt by naming or renaming a Shoreline School District building/school after him. My name is Sarah and I am a third grader in the Shoreline School District. The abrupt termination of the former head of the FBI, James Comey, has raised valid and troubling concerns about the method in which the action took place. An investigation of this magnitude requires a competent , nonaligned individual capable of sifting through evidence in a impartial manner without interference or collusion.

Sugar-sweetened beverages are the main source of added sugar in our diet. It is critical that the funds from San Francisco's Sugary Drinks Distributor Tax go towards programs to prevent obesity, diabetes, tooth decay, and heart disease amongst the city's most vulnerable populations. Recommendations for these funds must happen by and through the 16 member advisory committee. We urge the Mayor to sequester the funds from January-June 2018 to allow the advisory committee to make its recommendations.
