U.S Attorney General Jeff Sessions lied under oath at his confirmation hearing about his contacts with Russian officials during the presidential campaign, when he was foreign policy adviser to Trump

I am starting this petition because even though I live in a "guaranteed" Republican state, I see and hear daily the massive upset created by Donald Trump and his minions. This is not the America I have loved my entire life and it is certainly not the America I want for my grandchildren.

Our chief law enforcement officer should not be someone who has committed perjury. It denigrates the office of Attorney General. It casts doubt on the veracity of any future statements or positions he takes.

Lying under oath to a congressional hearing is not just reprehensible and immoral, it is illegal. Public office should not shield anyone who breaks the law, especially the Attorney General of the United States.

The Attorney General's truthfulness must be beyond reproach. Jeff Sessions has failed this test.

To remove Attorney General Sessions for lying. The highest ranking law officer in the United States must not be allowed to lie and get away with it.

State lawmakers are introducing legislation to curb protest activities. This is an attack on our rights to free speech and our rights to gather with like-minded individuals.

We did not support the nomination of Jeff Sessions as U.S. Attorney General based on his history of racism, discrimination and voter suppression. In light of the discorvery of his ties to Russia, we believe that he is not suitable to continue in his role as a leader in the Judiciary branch of government.

On March 2, 2016, environmental activist Berta Caceres was assassinated in Honduras. [1] Leaked court documents suggest Berta's murder was planned by military intelligence specialists linked to the country’s US–trained special forces. [2] Berta's family and human rights organizations have called for an independent international investigation into Berta's murder, but these demands have so far been rebuffed. Hank Johnson (GA) re-introduced the Berta Caceres Human Rights In Honduras Act, calling for the suspension of U.S. military and police aid to Honduras until human rights violations committed by Honduran security forces cease and their perpetrators have been brought to justice. This is enough. We need to get to the bottom of this before it erodes the very fabric of our democracy any further. We cannot move forward as a nation while the specter of influence from a foreign government looms so large and our representatives continue to ignore facts and their constituents

It is unacceptable that Sessions lied to cover up the fact that he had direct communication with Russia. It is impossible for him to fairly continue not only the Russia investigations, but perjury demands that he resign immediately as U.S. Attorney General.

We need to pressure Republicans in Congress to do the right thing and join their Democratic colleagues in calling for Sessions' resignation.
