I support solar installations on New Mexico homes & businesses. Clean energy beats oil every time. PNM is trying to make it harder and more expensive to begin a solar project. I want to expose what is going on and to stop this bill in its tracks. PNM is behind this ALEC bill. They are pretending to be looking out for consumers but are actually making it much harder and more expensive to begin a solar project. The Trump administration has announced that it will be sending National Guard troops to the border, even though crossings are at a 50-year low. There are already so many Border Patrol agents there that each agent makes an average of two arrests per month. Trump's plan includes states like California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas; as well as states adjacent to border states, like Oregon, Nevada, Arkansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Utah, and Louisiana. Governors have the final approval on National Guard deployments. This means Donald Trump's plan won't work without the support of governors. So if we want to stop the systematic removal of millions of aspiring Americans from the United States by the National Guard, we need to make sure governors in the targeted states hear from their constituents. Please join with me and demand that Governor Jerry Brown does not authorize the California National Guard to join Donald Trump's Deportation Force.

Over $10 million taxpayer dollars have already been spent on travel to Mar-a-logo in just 3 weeks of the Trump presidency. This doesn't include travel for his family. Americans are suffering and the new administration doesn't seem to understand that we are not watching the Kardashian's spending their own money on lavish lifestyles, we are watching the Trumps spending America's money that could educate our children, feed the hungry or even pay for part of a ridiculous wall now being spent producing the Trump lifestyle and Trump TV.

Does it make sense to put three 15,000 gallon underground fuel storage tanks is a towns freshwater aquifer, water table, against Beaver Brook, and a few miles from the Delaware River? NO, it does not!! This is an environmentally sensitive area, known to be a habitat for threatened and endangered flora and fauna species. This is the second time we have petitioned with hundreds of signatures in support of backyard hens. We are asking the Augusta County Board of Supervisors to listen to its constituents and approve this request.

Retailers face many challenges including competition from online sellers, rising rents, scarce parking and state and local taxes, fees and bureaucracy. Unlike surrounding states, Maryland has a complicated 21-tier traders license fee system that was set up in the 1850s. And unlike most states, Maryland requires businesses to annually locate, track, and value their inventory, pay burdensome municipal inventory taxes and pay high state annual report filing fees.

To overwhelm and overcome the dangerous forces that are trying to undermine and even destroy truth, freedom, and democracy, it will take a heightened level of commitment from all of us. It is absolutely imperative that our representatives listen to the concerns of their constituents. If we don't hold them accountable and make them hear our voices, then we are not doing our part as responsible citizens. Government is for and by the people. Since the Trump Administration took office, press briefings have not been the same. Reporter's questions are often unheard, or are barely audible, leaving us to speculate as to what the POTUS and his staff are responding to. The decision NOT to broadcast the questions delivered by our press (or to use "lazy" sound reinforcement techniques) at these briefings is a detriment to democracy, as an uninformed electorate cannot vote responsibly, or form accurate opinions about the administration's policies, behaviors, and its relationship with the press. As an audio engineer, the author of this petition recognizes that there are many well-known techniques that can be used to broadcast the questions posed by the press at these events at a minimal cost to the taxpayer. Additionally, new acoustic management systems are currently available that make direct miking unnecessary. If restaurants, college classrooms, and corporate businesses have such systems at their disposal, anything short of using the best kind of audio technology would speak poorly of our nation's highest office. In short, let's have great sound coming out of the White House, regardless of who's voice we are listening too!

On Thursday, February 16, 2017, Senator Heitkamp announced her support of pro-fracking Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to head the Environmental Protection Agency. As a Democrat, Senator Heitkamp's shameful support of Pruitt goes against the overwhelming opinion of her fellow Senate colleagues, and it also runs opposite the opinion of the national Democratic Party as a whole.

The county has a responsibility towards the inhabitants of the riverbed that is not being fulfilled. Like other Orange County residents, they are entitled to shelter, waste disposal, and sanitation services. The county’s refusal to provide these services worsens the quality of life for both the Skid River encampment and neighboring residents. The county is wasting money enforcing camping ordinances. Criminalizing homelessness diverts funding that could be better spent on housing. Furthermore, there are only 1500 shelter beds in the county for 4500 homeless individuals. The courtyard in Santa Ana has no room for the number of people living on the riverbed. The reality is that breaking up the encampments when there is no viable living alternative will only relocate homeless individuals to more visible and populated areas. Therefore we demand the county to allow the residents of the riverbed to remain in place and provide them with waste disposal and sanitation services until there is a feasible alternative.
