On 1/17/14, Madison Holleran took her own life in Philadelphia. She was 19 years old. Her suicide left a void in the hearts of so many people across the United States. The Madison Holleran Suicide Prevention Act in Virginia would allow us to keep Madison's legacy alive, and help other young adults from choosing suicide as a way of escaping the pressures of college expectations. My name is Grayson Moore, and I want to bring the Madison Holleran Suicide Prevention Act to the Commonwealth of Virginia. The original legislation was signed into law in New Jersey by Governor Chris Christie on August 1, 2016. After personally struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts during my time in college, I want to ensure that Virginia students are offered the best possible help and mental health resources through this legislation.

We cannot let these delegates vote to choose industry over our health and our rivers, when we have already seen devastation with what regulations/protections we have had in place.

There are MANY hunters and youth hunters who do not have much time during the week to hunt. The numbers of hunters, and youth hunters in this state are dropping every year. Many families have to work 6 days a week to make ends meet. There are parents who are unable to take the youth hunters hunting because only having Sundays off. Allowing Sunday hunting will give youth hunters and parents extra opportunities to go hunting on Sundays. Most of these hunters are home from work and school on Sunday.

Transportation Security Officers keep our skies safe every day - but they still don't have full rights. It's time they received the resources and respect they have earned. We have the chance to secure Title 5 rights for all TSOs if S. 272, the Strengthening American Transportation Security Act (SATSA) passes. But we need your help to get it through the Senate.

Since its inception in 2010, the Bike and Pedestrian Alliance of Clinton (BPAC) has been working to make Clinton a more bike and pedestrian-friendly town. One long-term goal has been the extension of the Shoreline Greenway from Madison through Clinton to the Westbrook line. The 2015 Town Plan of Conservation and Development shares a similar vision, citing a greenway and bike path as a means of attracting shoreline tourism, promoting historic resources, preserving our natural environment, and providing recreational opportunities. Orange County is proving to the world once again that police are above the law. An off-duty LAPD officer is shown on video forcefully grabbing and dragging 13-year-old Christian Dorscht, after he stood up for a girl the officer called a "c**t" and yelled to get off of his lawn. And when other children try to help him, the officer pulls out his gun and fires a shot into the crowd. If that isn't upsetting enough, what happens next is even worse: when police show up, they let the officer--who still hasn't been identified--walk free, but arrest Christian and another 15-year-old boy with charges of "battery and terrorist threats." It's a combination of white vigilante and police violence terror--and it's horrifying. Hundreds of people poured into the streets in protest to demand the officer be charged. The Anaheim Police Department posted a statement that they are working on an investigation--but the power rests with the District Attorney's office. And technically, after an investigation, the DA's office could still charge the children that were terrorized on that day. That's why we're demanding that Orange County DA, Tony Rackauckas, immediately indict the officer--and refuse to prosecute any of the children involved. Will you sign the petition?

Next Tuesday, when President Trump speaks before Congress, we want to make sure our Congressman, Eliot Engel, ends his tradition of shaking every president's hand at every State of the Union. With every day, this president tramples on the traditions that have served to protect our freedoms and rights. He spouts lies with geyser-like regularity. He demonizes people because of their race, their religion, or their place of national origin. He thinks the judiciary is not allowed to question his decisions. He claims that the free press is "an enemy of the people." A handshake, especially one in such a public setting, is more than a mere formality. It is a gesture of respect. It's time for Rep. Engel to show some spine.

SB 1142 will allow the state to arrest and prosecute anyone involved in a protest that has any vandalism, whether that person was involved, whether the offender was part of the protest, an onlooker, or part of the opposition. Clearly it a response to the false notion that protesters are paid troublemakers, not responsible citizens. AB 1142 is not about preventing vandalism; it's about preventing protests.

It is the duty and honor of every citizen, to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America.

Arizona SB 1142 will allow law enforcement to seize the assets of anyone who plans or participates in a protest that disturbs the public peace or results in any property damage. The intent of the bill is to deny citizens of their freedom of speech and stop all protests in Arizona. We must stop this bill before it is signed. Otherwise, other states already lined up with prepared legislation will enact more laws prohibiting this fundamental American right.
