• Support Janet Garrett for Congress in Ohio's 4th District
Jordan, the incumbent since 2007 has never passed a single piece of legislation. He is a well funded, Koch financed, pro Citizens United Congressman. Democracy itself is at stake when an incumbent can be virtually guaranteed perpetual reelection, regardless of no legislative success, due to ties to big business, Wall Street and lobbyists and the ability therefore to raise unlimited donations.

  • Requesting the Resignation of Davidson NC Mayor John Woods
On June 8, 2016, Mayor John Woods traveled to Raleigh, N.C., and scheduled a secret meeting with NC State Senators Berger, Tarte and Curtis, and several others. This meeting was to advocate for the 1-77 Toll Lane Project and was in direct opposition of HB-954. Mr. Wood's action was illegally going against resolutions passed on behalf of 90% of the Citizens Against the Toll Lanes Project, and the Town Comissioners. Mr. Woods, knowingly and deliberately, stated false information about the support of The project to Senator Berger and went against thousands of his constituents whom he was aware have researched , signed petitions, sent countless emails to town, county, state legislative, and executive council, who have donated monies for legal representation in lawsuits, and who have invested their personal time to actively work to oppose the project and have tirelessly fought to have the project cancelled. These citizens are requesting for Mayor John Woods to submit a written letter Of resignation, effective immediately, or a recall will be submitted to the NCGA on behalf of these constituents

  • Tell Senator Perdue: Apologize for praying for Obama's death
At a major religious-right conference, Republican Senator David Perdue implied that Christians should pray for President Obama to die. "We need to be very specific about how we pray" for President Obama, Perdue said. "We should pray like Psalms 109:8 says: 'Let his days be few, and let another have his office.'" The very next verse of Psalm 109 is: "Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow." For years, this passage of scripture has circulated among religious-right extremists who advocate "imprecatory prayer" - asking God to kill President Obama. Senator Perdue's staff is now backpedaling, claiming that isn't what he meant, but so far he's refusing to apologize for his hateful misuse of the Bible.

  • Stop unfair fare hikes on seniors, disabled
For many years RIPTA has provided free travel to those disabled people and seniors who are already living on a limited income. Rhode Island's most vulnerable seniors and disabled can't afford to pay what RIPTA is now charging, and many have said they'll be stuck at home unable to go out much. Bills have been introduced in the RI General Assembly to undo this fare hike -- H5173, S31 and S115. These bills need to be passed. (This petition is endorsed by the RIPTA Riders Alliance, Rhode Island's only organization of bus riders and bus advocates, https://facebook.com/RiptaRidersAlliance and https://facebook.com/groups/ripta.riders .)

  • Oppose CT Natural Gas Expansion Policy
Petition to repeal Connecticut's natural gas plan Connecticut’s energy policy supports the expansion of natural gas pipelines in our state by 900 miles with the goal of converting 300,000 homes and businesses to gas. This policy is based on the false notion that natural gas is “cleaner, cheaper, and more reliable”. Natural gas is obtained through a process known as hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking”, which consist of drilling and injecting fluid into the ground at high pressures. This form of extracting comes at the price of numerous environmental, safety, and health hazards. Natural gas by itself contains 97% methane and is a leading contributor to the contamination of water in addition to being a major source of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. There have been over 1,000 documented cases of water contamination next to areas of natural gas drilling as well as cases of sensory, respiratory, and neurological damage due to ingested contaminated water* . We need your help to change Connecticut’s pro-natural gas energy policy. With the growth of clean fuel alternatives, Connecticut has the opportunity to use other renewables such as Bioheat, biodiesel, wind, solar, and hydro that can be utilized to insure that the environment is protected. With your help we can reverse the direction of the energy policy in our state. Please sign the petition below so that policy makers are aware of your opposition to the expansion of natural gas in our state. * What Goes In & Out of Hydraulic Fracking. (n.d.). • EPA: No More Radiation in Drinking Water!
Over widespread objections, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed raising the levels of radiation allowed in your drinking water. In the case of an emergency, your water would be allowed to contain the equivalent of 250 chest x-rays in radiation, for extended periods of time. High levels of radiation are dangerous, and there is no justification for exposing people to them, emergency or not. For the EPA to even consider this increase is incredibly irresponsible. Tell them to withdraw this terrible proposal.

  • Senator Ayotte: Reject Trump's racism
Donald Trump has said that Judge Gonzalo Curiel can't fairly consider the fraud case against Trump University because of his Mexican heritage. This outrageous criticism was aimed at Judge Curiel, an Indiana-born, highly esteemed judge who was initially appointed by a Republican governor. And Trump followed up by saying that Muslim judges would also not be suitable to consider a case brought against Trump. This is the definition of racism. And while Republican leaders like Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell have expressed their concern, they are still standing by their endorsement of the presumptive Republican nominee. This week, another Republican Senate candidate, Mark Kirk from Illinois, publicly renounced his support of Donald Trump over these latest racist comments. You can't have it both ways. If you consider Trump's views racist, declare that he's unfit for the presidency—and revoke your endorsement of him, declaring you will not support him in November. If you don't, then you are standing on the side of racism.

  • Why is Trump hiding his taxes? Sign the petition demanding that Donald Trump release multiple yea...
For the past 40 years, it has been tradition that presidential nominees of both major parties release multiple years of their tax returns. They do this in part to ensure the public that there are no conflicts of interest. Donald Trump is refusing to, hiding behind a phony excuse that he can’t until the IRS finishes auditing him. We demand that – like his predecessors – Donald Trump release multiple years of his tax returns. That way the American people can get the truth about his business dealings, claims of extreme wealth, how he truly makes his money, what tax loopholes he is using to dodge taxes, the tax rate he actually pays -- and how his tax plan would benefit him personally.

  • .@SenatorBaldwin: Explain Your Vote for Pentagon Bloat
On Thursday, June 9, the Senate rejected an amendment by John McCain to increase the Pentagon budget by $18 billion. [1] The vote was 56-42 in favor; 60 votes were needed to pass. McCain's amendment tried to violate a bipartisan budget accord that increases in Pentagon spending must be matched by increases in domestic spending. 31 Democrats and 11 Republicans voted no on McCain's amendment; 44 Republicans and 12 Democrats and voted yes on McCain's amendment. [2] McCain's amendment was opposed by groups who disagree with diverting our tax dollars from human needs to the bloated Pentagon budget. [3] Wisconsin Democrat Tammy Baldwin, who is widely seen as a "progressive Democrat," was one of the 12 Democrats who supported McCain's amendment to pad the Pentagon budget by $18 billion. Urge Tammy Baldwin to defend and explain her vote for McCain's amendment by signing our petition.
