Tell Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi to Endorse Senator Bernie SandersThe voice of the people have been speaking and it's time democratic leaders listen. Bernie has excited and united liberal grassroots organizations all across America, creating a political revolution that is truly amazing. Ignoring this tremendous voice would be detrimental to the future of the Democratic Party. The leaders need to acknowledge the days of FDR, Harry Truman, JFK, and LBJ who honored the party by standing by democratic solicialist values that brought prosperity and stability to the American people and economy. It is time for the Democratic Party to seriously consider Senator Bernie Sanders as the nominee, and as the next President of the United States of America. Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, do your civic duty and endorse Senator Bernie Sanders for President.26 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Beau Busdicker

.@HillaryClinton: Tell @AIPAC that Settlements are not IsraelHillary Clinton will address the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's policy conference in Washington March 20-22. [1] Just because Hillary is speaking at AIPAC, doesn't mean she has to pander to AIPAC. When President Obama's National Security Advisor Susan Rice spoke at AIPAC last year, she told them things that they didn't want to hear: that their demands that Iran cease all enrichment of uranium were unrealistic, and that their demands that the U.S. walk away from negotiations with Iran and increase sanctions on Iran instead were unrealistic. AIPAC didn't like it, but Susan Rice didn't let that stop her from telling the truth. [2] J Street [3] and Americans for Peace Now [4] have opposed AIPAC's campaign to legitimize Israeli settlements in the West Bank. If J Street can do it, Hillary Clinton can do it too. Bernie Sanders has called for a "level playing field" in U.S. policy towards Israel and the Palestinians [5] and has called for Israel to "end the blockade of Gaza, and cease developing settlements on Palestinian land." [6]. Urge Hillary Clinton to tell AIPAC that settlements are not Israel by signing our petition. Syracuse City school district is still underfunded... by over 700 million dollars. For almost 20 years, Parents for Public Schools has been lobbying our elected officials to make fair school funding a priority. With an ever decreasing tax base and an increase in the number of children living in poverty in Syracuse, the impact of funding inequity has reached crisis proportions. The Syracuse City School District is dependent on the state for the majority of the school funding and the residents do not vote for a school budget. It’s time to take the politics out of funding education and make sure all schools receive the resources their students need.770 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Susan Fahey Glisson

Progressives: Call out racist dog whistle politicsIn a recent op-ed for the Nation, Demos Senior Fellow Ian Haney López, author of Dog Whistle Politics, and I made the case that our pursuit of economic equality has been strategically undermined by racist dog whistles. For the past forty years, the right wing has had a winning strategy: sell the economic agenda of the 1% to working- and middle-class white voters through a hidden formula: Fear People of Color --> Hate Government --> Trust the Market and the 1% Tax cuts for the very rich, slashed social spending, corporations writing their own rules, unions on the ropes: All sold to the American people through a narrative of racial resentment. We can’t win against economic inequality without addressing the right’s best weapon against a unified 99%. Everything progressives want—debt-free college, universal health care, campaign finance rules, climate change solutions, workers’ rights—requires a belief in government and trust in each other. My pledge: Name and shame. I’ll call out coded racial terms that paint our fellow Americans as undeserving and that lower our aspirations for government: “illegal alien,” “makers and takers,” “people who want free stuff,” “welfare queen,” “entitlement mentality,” “the Food Stamp President”... and whatever they think of next. Racially integrate our movement. Today’s economic populist movement has to include all of us if it’s going to succeed. I’ll work to ensure that our rallies and meetings are racially & ethnically diverse, and knock on doors in neighborhoods that are different than mine. I’ll take solidarity actions with the Muslims, Latinos, African Americans and Native Americans who are currently experiencing waves of hate and derision. By doing so, I commit to creating a multiracial progressive movement that will fight simultaneously for racial and economic justice. For more information, read the Nation article I wrote with my colleague Ian Haney López, UC Berkeley Law Professor, Demos Senior Fellow and director of the Racial Politics Project at the Haas Institute. Ian literally wrote the book on Dog Whistle Politics (http://www.amazon.com/Dog-Whistle-Politics-Appeals-Reinvented/dp/019022925X). Manufactured Housing LawsThe issue at hand has caused havoc in my community as well as surrounding communities. The fact that the state laws that are in place are not being enforced is causing issues. These issues range from rent spikes, living conditions, health concerns and much more. The laws need to be changed so inspections are done on a local level, as well as enforcements. The fact that the states Licensing and Regulation Agency has not enforced codes and has a lax system of approving licenses to operate is causing deplorable living conditions as well as health concerns. These communities were created for an affordable means of living. However, the elderly, limited income residents, residents with handicaps, along with others are being taken advantage of. This needs to stop! And this starts with you helping to give voice to this concern. Please take a moment to sign and share so we can make a change in your community as well as ours. Don't let the silence cause evictions for others, and let's not let the state and nation sit idly by while it happens! Thank you in advance for your support on these issues, have a blessed day. Demand Real-Time Fact Checking in Debates and InterviewsWith every debate I have to go to www.factcheck.org the following day to confirm quotes referencing percentages, costs, and accusations. Every day following debates and interviews there are articles, editorials and media coverage reporting falsehoods and exaggerations, often painting very inappropriate pictures of candidates and their stances. This is a gross injustice. The American people CAN have real-time fact checking and we deserve to know the truth. Too many people will not fact check after debates, and their opinions will be drawn based on lies and exaggerations. We must be better than this.138 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Brett Badolato

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in every school in MassachusettsAlong with the Social Emotional Learning Alliance for Massachusetts, I have been working to educate and advocate for SEL because when we argue about test scores, charter vs. public and longer school days, we are losing sight of the gravity of education and the impact it could have on violence and addictions. Let's send a message to focus on WHAT we teach and WHO is teaching, not WHERE we teach it. Teach about emotion and thought and its impact on our decision-making.35 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mitch Lyons

Send Soldiers to Protect Protesters at Trump RalliesBlack people have been peacefully protesting during campaign events for Donald Trump, and his supporters have spit on, punched, and assaulted them with little or no consequence. What country is this again? Why are people being allowed to commit hate crimes freely? It is time for the U.S government to do its job and protect the First Amendment by sending Armed Forces to protect Black protesters. Allowing these acts is a slippery slope towards allowing atrocities similar to those that happened during the Armenian genocide and the Holocaust. Please sign this petition to keep America safe for everyone.27 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dana Thompson

Stop BMI testing studentsIt drives me crazy that a faulty system is being used to mandate whether a child should be lumped into a category of weight at a time when they are extremely vulnerable and aware of their physical selves.43 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Shaun Noon

Tell Congress: We Deserve To Know. Label GMO Food!UPDATE: We've won round one! In a first vote, the U.S. Senate failed to advance the DARK Act. But the lobbyists for Big Ag aren't going away. Let's keep up the pressure -- consumers deserve to know what's in our food. -- Jeff The U.S. Senate is expected to vote soon on what is known as the Big Ag-supported DARK Act, which would prohibit states from requiring labeling of genetically modified foods. But the Senate has another choice, one that would put in place a national standard that requires labeling of foods containing GMOs. It's called the Biotechnology Food Labeling and Uniformity Act and it needs your support. This is our chance to stand up to Big Ag and bring GMO labeling to all 50 states, but time is running out. Add your name right away!35,790 of 40,000 SignaturesCreated by Senator Jeff Merkley

Tell CBS: Stop profiting from violence, hate, and white supremacy"Go Donald! Bring it on, Donald, go ahead, keep going." — Les Moonves, Chief Executive Officer of CBS Corporation This isn't the cheerleading of a Donald Trump campaign operative. These are the words of one of the highest paid CEOs in the world, Les Moonves of the CBS Corporation. It's no secret that big media corporations have been making big money off the spectacle of this presidential election, but Les Moonves has gone far beyond that. In comments at a Morgan Stanley conference Les Moonves acknowledged that his cheerleading for Trump’s campaign "may not be good for America, but it's damn good for CBS." Moonves, who is one of the highest paid CEOs in the world, didn't even say this with any sense of remorse, at one point saying , "the money's rolling in, this is fun." This just days after Donald Trump failed to immediately distance himself from David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan. It's the latest in a long line of Trump actions and statements that encourage violence against our communities, and have directly resulted in attacks and harassment against Latinos, immigrants, and people of color in at least 30 documented instances. CBS Corporation makes a lot of money off of publicly licensed television and radio waves. It should be not run by a CEO that delights in profiting off of what he himself acknowledges is bad for America. Sign and share this petition to tell the CBS board of directors that it's time for him to go.515 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Presente.org
