Fix Democracy in New HampshireThe people of New Hampshire care about where politicians are getting their money. I believe our government should be independent of corporate interest. In order to have our Representatives truly represent the New Hampshire people, they cannot be taking money from fossil fuel companies.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jordan Falvey

Stop Pfizer's Tax DodgingPfizer is one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. It’s also one of the most profitable. Through a merger with Irish drug firm Allergan, Pfizer is attempting to move its address overseas. After 166 years of doing business in the United States, the company is looking to stay headquartered in New York but escape paying billions of dollars in taxes. Millions of U.S. customers buy Pfizer products. From ChapStick to prescription medications, everyday working people’s purchases are the backbone of the company’s profits. Over the past few decades, those items have gotten more and more expensive, too. No taxes plus higher prices put the ultimate squeeze on working families. Letting Pfizer enjoy all of its benefits without paying a fair share of taxes is just plain wrong. President Obama and the U.S. Treasury can take an executive action to close the loophole behind Pfizer’s planned merger. You can help, too. Take action and sign our petition to keep the pressure on.79 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Chris Stergalas

Mississippi Legislature: Fund Children's ServicesMore than 5,000 children are in the custody of Mississippi's child welfare system. Despite a lawsuit settled several years ago, the child welfare system is still under-funded and over-burdened. The Division of Family & Children's Services is asking the state legislature to fully fund its programming so the agency can hire the case workers needed to properly care for and improve the child welfare system.33 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Adam W. Turn Quinn Into a GymThose who attend Fordham LC generally have three complaints about the campus: the food is terrible, the internet barely works and there is not a gym that fulfills their needs. Because two of these issues are not being addressed, it is time that the Fordham LC student community finally be heard. The reason Fordham administration claims there is not a real gym on campus is because free weights and other equipment cannot be used on the second floor of buildings. Fortunately enough, Quinn Library is being moved from what is basically a basement to the new Gabelli Business building. This is where a gym should be built. Even if half of Quinn was converted into a gym, it would still be a major improvement to the tiny room Fordham claims to be a gym in McMahon Hall. Even further, this gym would exponentially improve the health of students on campus and eliminate the need for them to pay additional membership fees for gyms throughout NYC.67 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Vincent Kappel

.@jorgeramosnews @mariaesalinas @ktumulty: Ask re: #BertaCáceres @ #Destino2016 #DemDebateHonduras has lost one of its most courageous indigenous leaders, Berta Cáceres. Cáceres was the General Coordinator of the National Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras. In 2015, she won the Goldman Environmental Prize for her activism and leadership. She was assassinated on March 2. At her memorial service on March 5, Berta's children read a statement from Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy. In his statement, Leahy said: "the investigation of this crime must be independent and comprehensive, including the participation of international experts. Those responsible for ordering and carrying it out must be brought to justice…the Rio Blanco and the territory that Berta devoted her life to defend, should be protected. The Agua Zarca dam project should be abandoned." [1] U.S. government policy is implicated in Berta's death. The U.S. government has financed and defended the Honduran government that failed to protect Berta's life. [2] Senator Leahy has said future U.S. aid to the government of Honduras should be tied to the outcome of an independent investigation into the assassination. [3] Urge Jorge Ramos, María Elena Salinas, and Karen Tumulty to ask Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton how U.S. government policy in Honduras should change following this crime by signing our petition. VETO Alimony Reform Again, Governor Scott!Parents like mine agreed decades ago that one parent would work outside the home for an income while the other would work inside the home raising children. A circumstance like a divorce should not erase the loss of earning potential and professional experience that the stay-at-home parent has endured for such a mutual arrangement. When divorce happens (in my family's case, 19+ years into marriage), alimony laws should not empower alimony payors with the generic, destructive ability to retroactively (or even currently) claim that all of the earned income belongs to one of the parents and the other parent has to return to the workplace or vocational school at the age of a retiree. Governor Scott has the power to veto this bill and emphasize to our legislators that we are not a society that burdens aging, divorced parents with lost alimony as a result of a flawed Alimony Reform Bill. We must demand that for both our elders and children.912 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Lisa

Fund Philly Community Schools and Pre-K expansionMayor Kenney has proposed important initiatives that will directly benefit the education of children in Philadelphia, which will have broader benefits to society. Community schools can help to meet the comprehensive needs that children have - from social, emotional and health needs, to extended and enhanced learning, such as extended learning time and quality Pre-K. There are economic and social benefits when we improve conditions for children. Resource equity matters too - and for that, you need to make investments. Mayor Kenney's proposed tax on sugary drinks is a reasonable way to fund these programs that can have a real impact on quality of life and learning conditions.286 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Education Voters of PA

Stop UC's plan to deforest the Oakland/Berkeley hillsUC's plan to cut down and poison 100,000 trees in the hills above the Berkeley campus will be an unmitigated environmental disaster. For both those of us who live in these hills as well as the many people of all ages who come from all over to walk, hike and bike on these beautiful shady trails, the idea that the forests that we all enjoy should be mowed down is totally unacceptable. Make no mistake about it; if this is allowed to happen UC would not only destroy animal habitat, but make a shady and cool area hot and dry, destabilize hillsides, cause the application of thousands of gallons of toxic herbicides on steep hillsides with myriad creeks, release tons of carbon dioxide, and increase the risk of the sorts of wildfires that have increasingly plagued California every summer. In short, this project would be an environmental disaster.400 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Hills Conservation Network
