• Find a Cure for Metastatic Breast Cancer
My wife and mother of my children died of metastatic breast cancer last month. She was but one of the tens of thousands of women who die from this disease every year in the U.S.A. Not much has been done to find a cure.

  • Secretary of Defense Ash Carter, Considering Retroactively Demoting Retired Gen. David Petraeus
Because as a recent article has stated, "those who are aware of it said they were surprised that he could be punished years after the scandal was presumably put behind him and after he pleaded guilty to mishandling classified information. No general in recent history has been demoted years after scandal swirled around him or her." This is a blatant attempt to silence individuals such as General Petraeus and Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, former Chief of the Pentagon Intelligence Agency for their candid and truthful statements to the American public they dedicated their lives to serving and protecting .

  • WE the people, demand that HRC rethink its endorsement of Hilary Clinton
The Human Rights Campaign, Has of recently decided to endorse Hilary Clinton, this however is a move in the wrong direction for civil/human/LGBTQ+ rights. These ideals were supposed to be upheld HOWEVER, they have shown that they would rather rush in to the direction of regression. If such people as MLK were alive, what would they think about this groups endorsement? We all know the truth, HRC ran into the arms of a bigot and a racist. Which, is not what America stands for. Bernie is a true American hero, and stands up for the ideals of the people and this country. Hilary Examples: " I read Genesis, Cain was marked. Therefore I believe in white supremacy" - Hilary Clinton She openly supports Margret Sanger who was an open racist. " I Think marriage is between a man and a woman." -Hilary Clinton Bernie: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/7/3/1398990/-Important-document-from-the-desk-of-Mayor-Bernie-Sanders-1985 http://www.queerty.com/32-years-before-marriage-equality-bernie-sanders-fought-for-gay-rights-20150719 http://youtu.be/O49wD6_g_Bs Do I need more? • Fix the Gas Leaks at Bridge Elementary School
The Bridge Elementary School has had several evacuations due to Gas leaks in the past year, some in extreme weather. As part of the Bridge community, we need a permanent and proper solution on the cause of gas leaks. In addition, the alarm systems should be fixed/replaced so these are working at all times. The safety of our children and staff should be given top priority, and fixes to the heating and alarm systems must be undertaken immediately.

  • Stop a corporation from stealing Yosemite's identity
Delaware North used to run concessions at Yosemite National Park until losing out on the government contract last year. During the open bid process, the company claimed that if the National Park Service chose another company, Delaware North should be paid $51 million for these and other trademarks. So now the park is being forced to update some of its most popular destinations. Curry Village will become Half Dome Village. Wawona Hotel will become the Big Trees Lodge. And get a load of this: the company even trademarked "Yosemite National Park." Don't let corporate profiteers exploit our national parks -- tell Delaware North to drop its money-hungry play for Yosemite's iconic names!

  • Hold Gov. Synder accountable for poisoning Flint children
What's happening in Flint, Michigan, is disastrous—and it's personal for me: Flint is my hometown and the community at the forefront of my first major documentary film "Roger & Me." Gov. Synder violated the Environmental Protection Agency’s regulations by cutting off clean drinking water to the city of Flint—impacting more than 100,000 people. Instead of safe, clean drinking water, the people of Flint had polluted water piped into their homes from the Flint River—water that was then contaminated with lead. He said he did this to "cut costs". He knew he could get away with it because Flint is one of the poorest towns in the country. There is no way to totally reverse the effects of lead in a child’s blood stream. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there is no safe blood level of lead for children. The children of Flint, already among the poorest in the U.S., will now have to endure a life of pain, irreversible brain damage, and lower IQs because of Gov. Snyder’s actions and the ensuing cover up. Justice must be served—and other elected officials must be put on notice that people’s lives are more important than balancing a budget.

  • Tell the Presidential Candidates: Support Paid Sick Leave in New Hampshire
In my senior year of high school, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease -- a chronic illness that I continue to struggle with every day. In college, my illness would sometimes cause me to miss class. Now, as I’m entering the workforce, I can’t help but worry what will happen when I get sick and have to miss work. Will I lose paychecks? Will I lose jobs? I’m not the only one dealing with this. Thousands and thousands of New Hampshire workers share these fears every day. Join me in demanding answers from our presidential candidates.

  • To Protect #IranDeal, Keep @JohnKerry as Secretary of State
Thanks to the diplomatic efforts of Secretary of State John Kerry, Iran's nuclear program has been sharply curtailed and has been made much more transparent and accountable to the international community. [1] Thanks to the diplomacy of John Kerry, 10 U.S. sailors who accidentally strayed into Iranian waters were released from Iranian custody within 24 hours. [2] Thanks to the diplomacy of John Kerry, five Americans previously imprisoned by Iran have been released. [3] These achievements were made possible in part by the relationships that Kerry built with Iranian officials over years of negotiations and diplomacy. In a year, the United States will have a new President. Some politicians want to tear up the nuclear agreement with Iran; some politicians want the nuclear agreement to be the end of diplomacy with Iran, and want to escalate confrontation with Iran on other fronts, thereby attacking the Iran deal indirectly; some politicians want to keep going with the diplomatic opening to Iran and see what else can be achieved. When President Obama was first inaugurated, he kept Robert Gates as Defense Secretary to help ensure continuity in our Iraq and Afghanistan policies. The next President should keep John Kerry as Secretary of State to ensure continuity in our Iran policies. Pressing politicians to declare on whether John Kerry should stay as Secretary of State will clarify where they stand on diplomacy with Iran. Urge Washington politicians to declare that they support keeping John Kerry as Secretary of State to protect the #IranDeal by signing our petition. 1. https://www.whitehouse.gov/issues/foreign-policy/iran-deal 2. http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/265730-kerry-thanks-iran-for-care-of-us-sailors 3. http://www.msnbc.com/mtp-daily/watch/iran-releases-five-u-s-prisoners-603948099590

  • #NoTrustInKeepseagle
Keepseagle Class Action Lawsuit was a discrimination case against the US Department of Agriculture settled for $760 Million for Native American Farmers. $380 Million remains unpaid out. It should go directly to Native American Farmers and NOT indirectly through "newly formed" Nonprofits (not meeting the original Cy Pres requirements of having served class members prior to the settlement) and Universities for Agricultural Programs and Service workshops and seminars. Thousands of Native American Farmers were denied and continue to be denied an opportunity to participate due to lack of/poor outreach and Federal policies which fail to fully recognize and provide programs & services to State Recognized and Non-Federally Recognized Tribes . Pay the Farmers NOT Nonprofits! #NoTrustInKeepseagle #TellJoeNo #PayTheFarmers I have been contacted by Ms. Beverly Collins Hall (American Indian Mothers) who represents 30 prevailing claimants, as well as 1000's of denied claimants and potential claimants to provide advocacy and outreach to Native American Farmers in North Carolina and Nationwide because they have been done a great disservice by the US Department of Agriculture and Keepeagle Class Counsel. Too many (thousands) of Native American Farmers (as defined in the Keepseagle class action lawsuit who do not meant the eligibility criteria as established and defined as "Native American Farmers" according to the USDA Office of Tribal Relations thus the discrimination at USDA continues) who have been left behind and left out of the Keepseagle Settlement process. It took an Act of Congress for Black Farmers who were denied an opportunity to participate in the Black Farmers case hence there was a Black Farmers Late Filers (2nd round) claims process which compensated over 17,000 additional Black Farmers . Unlike the Black Farmers case, Keepseagle has $380 million leftover so funds remain available and there should be a Keepseagle II not requiring an Act of Congress or additional funding. Native American Farmers are still losing land/farms and struggling to be competitive. Please help us tell Keepeagle Class Counsel Joe Sellers and U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan - Keepseagle for Farmers NOT Nonprofits! We don't need Trustees!!!
