Allow ballot initiatives in North CarolinaNorth Carolinians deserve to have their voices heard. We need ballot initiatives and referendums to ensure that the political power in our state is used in the best interest of our people. Allow the citizens of North Carolina to directly petition the state for new laws, or for changes to current laws. Ballot initiatives would allow the citizens of North Carolina to petition to have laws introduced by referendum, where the people themselves vote rather than a representative. Help us protect our beaches and tourism from offshore drilling, give our teachers the support they need, protect the right to vote, defend our environment, or bring your own cause to the people. The possibilities are endless once we have this power back in our hands. Please sign and share this petition with your friends and family. Together we can make a difference. Together we can make a positive change. Thank you.1,251 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Patrick Richling

Expose the dirty energy industry's secret campaign contributionsThe fossil fuel industry spends millions of dollars -- more than $100 million on the 2014 election alone -- on our elections. It’s paid off in the form of Congress’ shameful inaction on climate change. The dirty energy industry is playing a shell game -- funnelling millions in campaign contributions to science-denying lawmakers so they can shut down public debate and congressional action about climate change. And thanks to Citizens United, they get to do it all in secret. But we can make the dirty energy companies come clean about whom they are funding. Voters deserve to know exactly who is influencing our public policy. And if the dirty energy industry is directly funding climate deniers in Congress, every American has a right to know. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse just introduced an amendment to the energy appropriations bill that requires any company making $1 million or more off of fossil fuels to disclose their political spending. If Sen. Whitehouse’s amendment passes, we’ll know exactly who’s taking money from dirty energy interests -- and we can hold the corporations spreading unscientific misinformation accountable.190 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Common Cause

"Living A Quality Life with Dignity and Respect"Our petition addresses a giant gap in the need for hands on advocates in dealing with corporations, wealth persons and those in power over small business concerns, groups, and or people. Grass rooted folks, watch dogs advocates have more flex abilities to make changes quickly. We the people have the court of Public opinion and out cry. As a senior women of color I have had my share of fights until a group in 2012 helped me win my case against the Wells Fargo Bank who stole my home. Yes! The group was Move-On and I WON thanks to your support. Now I want to put back to help others. This is personal and needs to be told so others can learn they can stand up and win. I truly thank the people of Move On and will state more in my up coming book.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mama Barbara L Charles

Encourage universities to excuse students from classes on caucus day! This a petition for colleges in caucus states to excuse students who want to vote on caucus day, and to encourage students to exercise their right to vote and promote a healthy democracy. We find it disturbing that many students have reported a fear of missing class as a reason not to vote, and that schools are failing in their responsibility to facilitate young voters' participation in the democratic process. For example, there are approximately 105,000 students enrolled in the three largest Iowa campuses, and the websites for these schools encourage students to "think about what missing classes will mean" instead of bolstering the democratic process by enabling them to attend often day-long caucus events. Please sign this petition and consider speaking to your professor and not attending class to caucus and vote, no matter who your preferred candidate might be.156 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Christian Ruiz and Adriana Klompus

Employment - Ban Workplace AbuseI have been severely harassed and retaliated against after working many years at a huge corporation. Thousands of employees suffer from PTSD due to the psychological assaults. 29 states and 2 U.S. territories have introduced a version of The Healthy Workplace Bill (HWB), which is aimed at precisely defining an “abusive work environment”. This should be a FEDERAL LAW - but, should be in every STATE at the least! - 72 percent of the adult America public is familiar with instances of workplace bullying - 65.6 million people are affected by bulling, including targets and witnesses - 69 percent of workplace bullies are men, while 60 percent of bullying targets are women - Targets lose their jobs at a significantly higher rate than perpetrators (82 percent vs. 18 percent) - 61 percent of all targets of bullying end up losing their job11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kate

Gov. Rauner and the Illinois General Assembly: It's Time for Gun Dealer Licensing!I'm concerned about the increasing number of deaths and injuries due to gun violence in Illinois each year. In 2014 alone, there were 1,179 gun deaths in the state. It is far too easy for criminals to obtain guns. According to a report of the University of Chicago Crime Lab, 20% of all guns recovered from crime scenes between 2009 and 2013 came from four dealers in Illinois. Requiring gun dealers to be licensed would hold these bad apple dealers accountable, and reduce the number of illegal guns coming into our communities.250 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Susan Myers

Ban Big Pharma Ads from TelevisionThe United States is just one of a few countries that allows drug companies to advertise directly to patients. The public is barraged on a daily basis with costly advertisements that offer misleading information, promote a pill as the panacea for everything, and drive up the cost of prescription meds. If we want to get health care costs, and addiction issues, under control and make genuine health and wellness a priority in the U.S., now is the time to act by demanding that Congress enact legislation to ban all Big Pharma advertising on television, radio and in print.354 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Debra Goodman

Families Against DCFMany low income families are targeted by the Department of children and Familie's case workers, being bullied with threats of removing children from their homes I agree there's certain circumstances where children are in a dangerous situation However some removals can be avoided. Recently a nurse at a local hospital became engaged in a confrontation with a patient's Family member, being vindictive the patient said the nurse contacted the department of children and Families and filed a complaint, the family has since continued to be harassed by the DCF's Case Workers.87 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Shelton Prince
