We with Caring About Treasured Strays daily receive calls, emails, messages in regard to the need for rescuing dumped-off cats and kittens, dogs and puppies. We work LONG hours to care for them and keep them from going to our Montgomery County, KY Animal Shelter, where there is no other option but to euthanize when at capacity or to add on to the building where the animals will live in cages for months on end. For renters or families unable to install solar on their roofs the bill provides loans to solar developers to connect low-income families to solar either physically, or virtually through the construction of community solar facilities. In all cases this bill encourages job training to local communities. 2. Promotes diversity in the workforce by prioritizing loans for woman- and minority owned small businesses. 3. Sets aside a portion of funds for developing solar economies in Appalachia, Indian tribal lands, and Alaskan native communities.

I hired and paid a CPA to find money my husband hid to avoid taxes and support during my divorce. The CPA was hired as a joint expert to save money and report to the family court , but he never did anything I or my lawyers asked . He told the court he didn't like me because of my YELP reviews. He was paid $80,000 for five months of subpar work and demanded civil immunity and refused to work for over a year after I questioned his reports. He was paid more than I get in support for three years. My private judge paid himself $100,000 from my kid's college savings and allowed my husband to pay just $8.84 per month in child support. This has caused me and my son to go from an upper middle class lifestyle to near bankruptcy , with no end to my divorce in sight and while the lawyers and CPAs continue to take more money in fees than I will earn in my life. I filed a lawsuit , without a lawyer , against the CPA to get my money back . The CPA hired a malpractice lawyer and filed an Anti- Slapp against me. He lost the Anti- Slapp and is filing an appeal. It will cost me $100,000 if I want to hire an lawyer to defend me in the appeal. I shouldn't' t have to do this just because I am getting divorced and my CPA didn't do his job. And why would the CPA pay $300,000 in legal fees himself instead of just returning my $80,000, my retirement money ? The State Bar, CA Board of Accountancy , Judicial Performance Council and State Legislature must act to stop the abuse and fraud these legal and accounting fiduciaries are able to impose on family law matters. Please join me in acting the State Bar and the CA Board of Accountancy to revoke licenses of CPAs and Lawyers who act to cause such harassing litigation and excessive costs in family law cases.

Irresponsibly, the national Republican Party has made opposition to the Iran nuclear agreement negotiated by Secretary of State Kerry and our European allies a litmus test of Republican Party loyalty, like opposition to the Affordable Care Act, opposition to raising taxes on the extremely wealthy, and opposition to modest cuts in the bloated Pentagon budget. Senator Susan Collins now faces a choice on the Iran agreement: to act responsibly, consistent with her reputation as a moderate and independent Republican, and support the agreement, knowing that if Congress were to kill the agreement, the international inspection system on Iran’s nuclear program would collapse, international sanctions on Iran would collapse, and the U.S. and Iran would be on a path towards an unnecessary and costly war; or comply with the loyalty demands of the Republican Party establishment and belie her reputation as an independent and moderate Republican, and vote to kill the agreement. For over 50 years, the park system has been operating within it's founding guidelines with Conservation as the primary focus. In changing that focus, Timothy J. Grendell has overstepped his statutory authority as Probate Judge, is deliberately and harmfully ignoring the will of the people, and is wrongfully imposing his personal and political vision upon the Geauga Park District. We believe his actions are an improper aggrandizement of the powers of the office of Probate Judge and an abuse of the prestige of that office. He has undermined public respect for the office of Probate Judge and has caused serious and substantial harm to the Geauga Park District.

This week I had to bury two of my beloved cats, Abby and Arsenic. They caught some fleas and, while I waited for my check so I could treat all my animals, complications developed, resulting in both cats passing on after a two-day valiant struggle - all because flea treatments are so expensive. Lack of wealth should not mean lack of love and responsibility for the family pets. This summer's flea infestation has been virulent on many pets; treatment should be affordable.

We are families, young couples, empty-nesters, students, and many more with rooms to spare in our homes for people forced to flee violence in Syria. We want to open our homes and pantries and closets, and provide transportation and monetary, emotional, and social support because we, as humans, stand united by our common respect for human dignity.

I just can't believe that our Republican leaders are threatening to shut down the entire federal government over this issue. As a retired teacher who worked not only with children but, through Title I, also with their parents, I can honestly tell you that this program is essential. Because of Planned Parenthood, our mothers are much healthier thanks to preventive care, cancer screenings and contraception. Please, do not let Planned Parenthood come to an end. It is just too important!

Senator Ben Cardin has disappointed many Marylanders by opposing President Obama's peace deal with Iran that would prevent them from acquiring nuclear weapons for 15 years. He also said he will be introducing *new* legislation that will undermine the peace deal. In May 2015, he introduced an amendment that supported illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank. We need a Senator who can be independent from Benjamin Netanyahu's right-wing government by voting for peace instead of continuous wars and occupations in the Middle East. Currently liberal superstars Rep. Donna Edwards and Rep. Chris Van Hollen are running for the US Senate from Maryland in 2016. Unfortunately they cannot both win. Whichever one of these Congresspeople doesn't prevail in 2016 will make an excellent replacement for Ben Cardin in 2018.

Reggie Ewing has been incarcerated since 1996 for an assault against 5 white men. He was given 100 years for this assault, although none of the victims died or sustained long term injuries. Not only did he have an unfair trial, he was given an absurd amount of time. The public defender that was assigned to him was changed at the last minute and did not call any witnesses on his behalf. No one stated that they knew it was him, and he wasn't given a chance to speak in court. Before the trial, victims and their friends went to the detective to let him know it was not Reggie, only to be turned away, telling them if they were not there to put Reggie away he had nothing to say to them. Reggie was taken from his children and his life of being the father he loved to be. Please sign our petition to let our governor know of his unfair trial and to finally get him set free!

Nancy's case is heartbreaking. We did a compassionate release application for her and she was denied, and her time to the next parole hearing was extended to two years. I am worried that her health will give out with the stress and her inability to breathe well. There is no good reason behind this and the parole board gives no reason except to constantly reiterate her drug crime. Enough--this is not the same woman who went to prison. She has learned what she needs and now we need to release her.

Maryland Democratic Senator Ben Cardin has announced [1] that he will join Chuck Schumer and Robert Menendez in opposing the agreement with Iran negotiated by President Obama, Secretary of State Kerry, and European leaders. Protecting the agreement is a key Democratic priority. Ben Cardin is currently the “Ranking Member" – the leader of Democrats – on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. 38 Senate Democrats have said so far that they will support the agreement, ensuring that Republican attempts to kill the agreement in Congress will fail. [2] But unfortunately, this isn’t likely to be the last time that America will face a choice between diplomacy and war. When President Bush led the United States to war with Iraq under false pretenses in 2002-3, many Democrats in leadership positions played a key enabling role. It matters whether Democrats who enable Republican warmongering hold leadership positions. Like any American, Ben Cardin is entitled to his views; but if he supports Republican efforts to undermine diplomacy and provoke war with Iran, he is not entitled to lead Democrats on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee [3], has been a strong supporter of using diplomacy to resolve the nuclear dispute with Iran and prevent war.
