  • Help 9-1-1: Require Companies to Obtain Subscriber Info
As a former 9-1-1 Dispatcher, I know the importance of subscriber information. We need to urge the FCC to improve and assist our community and local 9-1-1 Centers by requiring companies to obtain subscriber information at the time of a phone purchase. This helps 9-1-1 know where the caller lives, and they can then send help to that location if they have nothing else to work on.

  • Driver's Cards for Immigrants
Wisconsin's Dairy industry has over 40% of its workforce coming from Immigrants. Many that stayed behind live in constant fear of getting harassed, ticketed or deported for not being able to obtain or renew their license. We need to pass representative Jo Casta Zamarripa driver's card bill into law!

  • Allow Native Americans the Right to Wear their Hair Long in All Aspects and Places in American So...
Native Americans are denied the same rights and privileges as others due to the length of their hair, being forced on many occasions to have their hair cut before they are allowed access to public establishments such as schools. We are demanding that you respect the rights of ALL Native Americans concerning this matter and abolish this practice. Having long hair is an important part of our culture and ancestry, and needs to be recognized as that. Make it illegal for Native Americans to be denied the same rights as others because of the length of their hair.

  • We call on Arizona's Congressional Delegation to Support the Iran Deal
When President Obama announced that the U.S., Iran, and the international community had reached an historic agreement to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, it gave hope that we were on a path to ending decades of hostility. Unfortunately, war hawks are lobbying Congress, undermining diplomacy. Several members of the Arizona Congressional Delegation are either 'undecided' or actively opposed to a diplomatic reduction in Iran's nuclear program. Over the next 60 days, we're going to have to campaign hard to make sure Arizona's Senators and Congressional Representatives don't squander this opportunity. Now that President Obama has shown that diplomacy can work, we need to show that the American people stand with him and will do everything in their power to give this agreement a chance to succeed and become a model for resolving other conflicts. But with opponents of diplomacy going all out to stop this, we have to be out there right away, visibly and loudly. By signing this petition, you are letting Arizona's Congressional Delegation know that you want them to support the Iran deal, and oppose a needless escalation to another Middle-East war.

  • Physical Conditioning for Adults Who Are Visually Impaired at I.C.R.E.-Wood
I attended I.C.R.E. Wood and the Physical Conditioning literally saved my life. My diabetes which was out of control, and became controllable. Illinois Center for Education and Rehabilitation has lost i's Physical Education instructor and funding for physical conditioning because of recent cuts. Adults who are visually impaired (that is, those who are blind or have low vision) are substantially more likely to report poor, fair, or worsening health than are adults who are sighted. Regular physical activity benefits both physical and psychological health and reduces risk for heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, and stress-related illnesses (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 1996). Overweight and obesity are a major public health concern because they are associated with a multitude of medical conditions and negative psycho-social outcomes, as well as increased mortality. Medical conditions that have consistently been linked to overweight and obesity include type 2 diabetes; heart disease; high blood pressure; stroke; certain types of cancer, such as cancer of the colon, prostate, breast, and uterus; osteoarthritis; pulmonary problems, including asthma and sleep apnea; liver disease; gallbladder disease and gallstones; and dyslipidemia (high cholesterol levels) (CDC, 2005b; U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, USDHHS, 2001; 2004). In addition, overweight and obesity have been associated with a greater risk of eye diseases or a faster progression of certain eye diseases such as macular degeneration, maculopathy, cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. We want a Physical Education instructor at this facility.

  • Petition for New Mexico's Endangered Wolves
Mexican gray wolves are one of the most endangered wolves in the world, with only 110 in the wild. In the past few months, the NM Game Commission has repeatedly sought to obstruct Mexican gray wolf recovery, first by denying, without justification, the 17 year old permit for Ted Turner’s Ladder Ranch to continue assisting with the Mexican wolf reintroduction and then by denying the U.S. Fish and Wildlife a permit to release Mexican gray wolves into New Mexico, which is necessary to boost the wild population’s declining genetic health. The NM Game Commission, appointed by Governor Martinez, is clearly out of touch with the majority of New Mexico's voters, who overwhelmingly support the Mexican gray wolf reintroduction.

  • Alabama Legislature should pay costs of failed special session on budget
The elected Legislators in Alabama cost the Sate, according to 33/40 news, $320,000.00 on a recent special session to address the budget shortfall. Nothing was achieved except bills not related to the budget. So now a second special session will be called. And another $320,000.00 will be spent. These wasteful Legislators should forfeit any pay and be responsible for paying for the costs of both special sessions.

  • How about ending tax breaks for CEO bonuses instead?
Right now huge corporations like Walmart get a tax break for handing out huge CEO bonuses. Meanwhile, the Senate is about to take up a budget that makes deep cuts to programs that help build the middle class -- like education funding and job training. The tax code sets a $1 million limit per executive for the amount of pay that corporations can write off their income taxes. But the problem is that there’s a loophole that exempts “performance-based” pay. So, corporations are shelling out huge CEO bonuses to pay less in taxes. For example, during the past six years, Walmart pocketed $298.6 million in fully deductible “performance pay,” lowering the company’s federal tax bills by $104 million. We simply can't afford tax loopholes that help the biggest corporations dodge paying their fair share. It's time we close these loopholes and invest in an economy that works for all of us, not just the CEOs.

  • Ellen Degeneres: Stop working with Procter & Gamble!
I am starting this petition because I am a huge advocate for animals and I know that Ellen is as well. Ellen is a great person that has done many great things for the LGBT community and other people across the United States that are in need of extra support. I am begging Ellen to stop promoting Cover Girl, because Procter & Gamble own the company, and they are not in a hurry to ban animal testing.
