• Make Democratic Senators Unanimous in Asking the SEC to Require Corporate Disclosure!
Despite the disastrous Citizens United decision allowing unlimited anonymous corporate political spending, there's an easy way to expose much of it. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) can require public corporations to report political spending in shareholder publications available to everyone. All U.S. Senators know the SEC has this power, and now 44 Democratic Senators have signed a letter asking the SEC to use it. No Republicans have signed on yet. Please urge the remaining 2 Democrats, Senators Donnelly and Manchin, to join their colleagues to unanimously demand commonsense corporate disclosure now.

  • Sign Senator Charles Schumer's Yearbook #NoWarWithIran
Senator Charles Schumer is one of only two Senate Democrats to date to side with Republican war hawks against the historic diplomatic agreement with Iran—and he wants to be the next Senate Democratic Leader. It's imperative that we hold him accountable for his inexcusable stance on the Iran deal, while also showing still-undecided Democrats a bit of what they can expect if they choose war by undermining diplomacy and peace. That's why MoveOn members are launching a mobile billboard in New York City on August 31. The billboard will crisscross Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, conveying the message that Sen. Schumer's actions in opposition to diplomacy with Iran should win him the ignominious title of "Most Likely to Start a War." This public rebuke is an extension of the efforts of more than 180,000 MoveOn members who have pledged to withhold approximately $43 million in political campaign contributions from Sen. Schumer and individual Democrats (and the party committees that support them) if they succeed in sabotaging diplomacy.

  • PVRPD Board: Recognize MSA FC as a Community Service Group
The PVRPD has placed restrictions on which groups can use the field space for soccer. According to PVRPD by-laws, Community Service Groups are the highest priority organization to be awarded field space access. PVRPD has an application process which details the requirements on becoming a Community Service Group. MSA FC has completed and submitted the application to become a Community Service Group and while MSA FC fulfills all the listed requirements, MSA FC was denied. The PVRPD by-laws do not state any restrictions on the number of community service groups that can be recognized, yet they have arbitrarily denied MSA FC from being recognized in the Community Service Group category because PVRPD has two organizations who are already classified as Community Service Groups in the same general category. PVRPD has denied MSA FC the use of Pleasant Valley Fields and other park facilities. MSA FC members are comprised of a community of local residents whose tax dollars pay for the Pleasant Valley Fields and other facilities. Sign the petition asking that the PVRPD recognize MSA FC as a Community Service Group.

  • No more "15 minutes of fame" for mass murderers.
Like everybody I've been watching the number of mass murders grow in America. Something must be done. New gun control legislation is taking time, but right NOW, TODAY, we can stop watching. And if we stop watching, the next mass murderer will not be motivated by the idea of getting famous.

  • Please Help Save Our Jack
Please sign this Petition to fight the classification of vicious placed upon our sweet baby Jack, by Hilton Cole. This feels more like a personal vendetta against myself, Bonnie Blalock, and my partner, Gina DiPietro. I cannot believe that our dog is at risk to die, because the Director of EBRP Animal Control, Hilton Cole has made this a very personal issue, and quite frankly it is no longer about what Jack did or did not do, it is the simple fact that he is a PitBull and we are Gay. Please help, please sign this and Help Save Our Jack.

  • Do not defund Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood was there when I needed contraception and routine health care services at a very low cost, and it still provides the full range of preventive health care services at no or very low cost to those who want and need them. Please help protect this important organization that has proven its value over and over.

  • Hazel Park, MI: Reduce Penalty for Failure to Maintain Grass
The current practice of convicting residents who fail to cut their grass as criminals is nearly criminal in and of itself. Opportunities are reduced for those with criminal records. While I believe code enforcement is necessary because I also want to live in a beautiful Hazel Park, the misdemeanor convictions may also affect home values negatively because of a higher rate of residents with criminal records.

  • MA: Vote "No" to fast-track the TPP.
Corporations do not have to undermine human rights, environmental health, and political agendas. Let's bring humanity back into Corporations. They are already lobbyists and "people", but they don't have to become lawyers capable of suing nations for projected loss of profits. They don't have to ship more jobs out of the U.S. and further undermine rights of migrant workers. Stand up now and make your voice heard. Residents of Massachusetts, vote to stop the TPP.
