Twitter: Don't cover for politicians!Twitter recently blocked a number of sites, including dedicated to archiving politician's tweets from accessing its API. This effectively shut these sites down. What elected officials say publicly to their constituents ought to remain part of the public record. Twitter shouldn't help politicians paint more favorable images of themselves or cover up their mistakes. This is like letting politicians erase footage or shred documents that make then look bad. Urge Twitter to stand for transparency and accountability by restoring API access to these sites.234 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Common Cause

No Iran Deal Opponents in Dem AdministrationMore Democrats are stepping up to support the Iran nuclear deal. [1] But Sens. Cory Booker and Mark Warner, who may be considered for vice president, are not yet counted as yes. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders support the Iran deal, and Martin O’Malley has offered cautious praise. They should pledge not to pick running mates who oppose it. [2] They should also pledge not to appoint Iran deal opponents to confirmation-level positions; and Senate Democrats should pledge to oppose Senate confirmation for Iran deal opponents. Some Senate Democrats like Chuck Schumer and Robert Menendez have already joined Republicans in pushing for war. Ron Wyden, who has been good on Iran diplomacy in the past [3] and bad in the past [4], is now counted by the Washington Post as “leaning no” on the Iran deal. [5] Democrats fear that Gary Peters’ chief of staff may push him to oppose the deal. [6] Alan Grayson, who is running for Senate in Florida, is counted by The Hill as “leaning no,” while Tammy Duckworth, who is running for Senate in Illinois, is counted as “unclear/undecided.” [7] Urge Democratic Presidential candidates and Senate Democrats to draw a line in the sand against Iran deal opponents by signing our petition. Stand against pesticide pollution of our waterThe Senate committee charged with protecting our environment just passed a bill that would make it a lot easier to spray pesticides in and around our rivers, lakes, and streams. The bill should be called "The Contaminate Waters at Will Act” since it eliminates the need for permitting to spray pesticides into our waterways. The documented health hazards and loss of wildlife attributed to pesticides are the exact reason why businesses and industries are required to obtain permits to spray in and around bodies of water. Please tell your senators to stand against this reckless action now.9,468 of 10,000 SignaturesCreated by Environment America

Bystanders effect act; friends or not friends? My son has recently passed away on May 26th of 2015 due to a drowning incident. He was fully clothed and was also among friends at the time it happened. To this day, nothing definite has been said to me or my family as to what exactly lead up to his drowning. We do not know definitely how it happened with my son and why. So I am raising an awareness about Wolves in Sheep's Clothing, a disguise that people wear to lure you into other directions. This is happening on U.S grounds, where people are being befriended and mislead by friendships when incidents occur as the end result and we must pay attention to it .There is always someone who knows something, yet there are not enough efforts or help when it comes to such cases. The families have to look for services and provide for themselves to get the help or raise the money, when some may not have the money or resources. In certain cases like these, they go cold and unsolved. Families will never know what actually happened to their love ones as a result they give up, yet they still live with it every day wondering what had actually happened and why. We are still waiting for answers. http://greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item/we_are_all_bystanders https://www.psychologytoday.com/basics/bystander-effect58 of 100 SignaturesCreated by venus stutts

Boycott Specified Cruise Lines while they still travel to Faroe IslandsWe need to stop Faroe Islands from financially benefiting while they slaughter pilot whales. Any company that makes money by going to the Faroe Islands is supporting this slaughter. This petition is to stop these companies from making money from a place that slaughters pilot whales. They need to stop providing cruises to Faroe Islands and to let the world know what Faroe Islands is doing is unacceptable.388 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Fred Cahill

Support the president's Clean Power PlanWe have been inundated with smoke from the wildfires. Friends and family have lost their homes. Farmers have seen their crops suffer from lack of rain. Fires and drought are a result of Global Warming and we can do something to stop that. Let's do it.34 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Pauline Druffel

Rep. Frankel and Sen. Costa: Continue Funding for Planned Parenthood of PAI volunteer for Planned Parenthood, so I know that the videos behind the defunding plans are slanted. Planned Parenthood of Pennsylvania doesn't participate in fetal tissue donation, so their funds should not be at risk. Defunding Planned Parenthood would put countless Pennsylvania women's' lives at risk.41 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Serena Zets

Diplomacy v. WarOne of our fellow petitioners have presented this same issue to Congress, unfortunately we need higher officials on our side. We need our voices to be heard. We, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, do not want to endure another War. This will lead to another World War which will kill millions. Outside of the picture of Barack Obama agreeing to this war, do you agree? Help us speak up for what is right. This petition is for the concerned Americans who want our country to stop falling down the hole. Stand with me and all of the others. You are much appreciated.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nakia Flowers

Stop Racisim in Southfield, MichiganThis is clear violation of civil rights and the clearest form of racism. This is the reason why there is civil unrest and a continuing divide between the very people who claim to protect and serve and the community they live in. This form of racism has to stop now and it our government should never allow such atrocity.39 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michelle Summers

Ask Michigan's Adventure & the Michigan DEQ to Do the Right Thing!Michigan's Adventure, a 250 acre amusement park in West Michigan is applying for an exemption to their wastewater permit (#GW1010335), to allow them to discharge 5 million plus gallons of waste per year on site. As a concerned citizen and local watershed volunteer, I am asking you to contact them and request they hook up to the existing wastewater line that runs directly in front of the park. The headwaters of the Duck Creek Watershed are located in very close proximity to this waste disposal site. We need to let the Michigan DEQ and the parent company of Michigan's Adventure know we believe in protecting our watershed and environment. The company that owns Michigan's Adventure, Cedar Fair, L.P., reported over $190 million dollars in profits last year. Join me in asking the Michigan DEQ and Michigan's Adventure to do the right thing and dispose of their waste in the local wastewater system instead of dumping 5 million-plus gallons of waste at the amusement park! We have until September 3rd to make our voices heard! UPDATE: Let's keep up the pressure!!! The Muskegon Chronicle article has drawn a lot of attention to this issue. I'm leaving the petition open to let more people sign & tell Michigan's Adventure "It's Time to Hook Up!!!"757 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Lynn Knopf
