Servitocracy, the next form of governmentMovements to enfranchise groups (by property, age, gender, race, birthplace, etc.) have been afoot since the foundation. While well intentioned, such criteria miss the mark. Alone, the act of voting is hollow, signifying little.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Holley Weeks

Stop logging in our parksWe have a local park in Mt. Morris, Wisconsin. Without anyone's consent in Waushara county, local loggers are clear cutting trees, stating the trees are diseased. A highly educated arbitrator looked at the acres that have thus far been destroyed by loggers for personal profit, stating there are very few trees with disease. We need to save this beautiful mountain-park.88 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mary

Save the AnimalsThere are too many people who are dumping off their pets along the roads, killing them, beating them, hoarding them, running puppy mills and fighting them with other animals. People should have to qualify to adopt a pet from anywhere and from anyone. If they can not afford them, then they should not be allowed to care for them. It is a proven fact that even though pets forgive unconditionally, they still have the emotions, feelings and the mentality of a 3 to 5 year old. Imagine someone mistreating your child at that age; they would go to jail and be charged with a felony. We rescued a sky terrier that was kept in a cage, fed saw dust and molasses, never taken out of the pen, picked up by her ears, and continuously bred for half her life. When we got her home and sat her in the grass, she got used to it and she ran and jumped and rolled in it. You would have thought she was crazy when all it was was excitement to be able to run and play. We rescued another puppy. When the owner would return to his house and the puppy barked and jumped with excitement, the man kicked the puppy clear across the room yelling at it to shut up and get down. These two dogs are the most gentle babies ever. We could go on and on about animals we have rescued but won't do that. Please, let's get the word out and stop animal cruelty.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Keith johnson

We The PeopleI turned 80 this past year. I have lived through a lot of history: World War 2, the invention and proliferation of nuclear and chemical weapons, space explorations, the movements for civil rights, workers rights, women's rights, marriage rights, questionable wars, global conflicts, our perpetual state of war, growing economic inequality and corporate greed... I am proud to stand with those of the younger generation in the fight for peace, justice and equality!44 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Carol JOY Haupt

It's time for full equality! In too many states, it’s still legal to discriminate against LGBT Americans. Whether it’s in housing, public accommodations or in the workplace, it has to stop. We’ve made incremental progress, but it isn’t enough. In 14 states where we’ve won victories on marriage equality, someone could marry their same-sex partner legally on Saturday and then get fired for being gay on Monday. That’s wrong. We acted to ban discrimination on the basis of race, gender, national origin, and religion. Now it's time for the next step: a comprehensive act that affords to LGBT Americans the full equality that all Americans deserve. Add your name today and join the chorus of Americans calling for full LGBT equality. Help us get it done!9,978 of 10,000 SignaturesCreated by Senator Jeff Merkley

President Obama, Please Pardon Attorney Stanley L. CohenStanley L. Cohen is an attorney, international human rights activist, and a true American Hero fighting for justice and defending our Constitution. Stanley is an advocate for many people the government would like to silence or put in jail: Palestinian freedom fighters, Muslim preachers, North American natives living on Indian reservations, marijuana dealers, anti-war protestors, radical squatters, the homeless, "hacktivists", anti-Zionists and everyone in between. Mr. Cohen has been unfairly targeted by U.S. authorities who seek to silence him and end his law practice. Recently, after years of unfair prosecution and hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees, Mr. Cohen has pled guilty to charges of "impeding the IRS" and has been sentenced to 18 months in prison beginning on January 6, 2015. In October 2014 Stanley Cohen traveled to the Middle East to negotiate the release of American Aid Worker Peter Abdul-Rahman Kassig who was held hostage by ISIS captors. Talks to save Peter Abdul-Rahman Kassig went on for weeks, backed by the U.S. Kassig was killed by his Isis captors on 16 November after one of the prime negotiators, a Muslim cleric, was arrested and imprisoned in Jordan. See the full story in the Guardian and you will understand how vital it is that Stanley remain free: http://www.theguardian.com/news/2014/dec/18/-sp-the-race-to-save-peter-kassig Stanley is HERO, a dear friend and trusted advisor. He always puts the cause of justice, human rights and the needs of others for legal representation above himself. One minute in prison is one minute too much. Stanley must remain free to continue his lifelong dedication to the practice of law. Please stand together to seek justice for Stanley L. Cohen and ask President Obama to pardon him and keep him free.1,206 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Free Stanley Cohen

Tell Gov. Brewer to Drop The Lawsuit Attacking Arizona Immigrants and FamiliesRecently, the State of Arizona joined a host of other states in suing the federal government over the President's executive action on immigration. In addition to subjecting thousands of Arizona families to deportation, this lawsuit, if successful, would deny work permits to thousands of Arizona immigrants and deprive Arizona of a massive $100 million in much-needed tax revenue over the next five years. President Obama had to act on immigration after Republicans in Congress chose to do nothing. And despite the fact that President Obama's immigration action will benefit countless families in Arizona and generate millions of dollars in taxes, Gov. Jan Brewer and Attorney General Tom Horne are joining with their political partisans to block it. When it comes to anti-immigrant records, no governor comes close to Jan Brewer. She was on the wrong side of history when it came to the state’s controversial SB 1070, and the Supreme Court recently denied her attempt to strip driver’s licenses from DREAMers. Why does she keep attacking the immigrants who keep Arizona thriving? We need Gov. Brewer and her administration to immediately end the lawsuit against President Obama and stop the attacks against immigrant workers and families living in Arizona. They are part of our state and they deserve a way to become documented residents, not shunned and set up for deportation.721 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Gabe Ortiz
