• Eliminate Georgia's Law of "False Alarm Reduction Program"
This is about the law which was created few years back "False Alarm Reduction Program" . The sad thing is most citizen like me doesn't even aware of such a law. And the government is totally taking advantage of this. For instance, I was fine a $225, a fine of $150 and late fee. And I had no clue. How can you blame the citizen to keep up all these unnecessary laws/rules and regulations when people are working day and night to bring food to the table and taking care of their family. When will the government stop ripping off people. We already pay enough taxes. This Law of Georgia " False Alarm Reduction Program" should be eliminated.

  • Rep. McAsey, Make Corporations Pay their Fair Share of Taxes
At a time when Illinois is considering laying off 13,000 teachers, cutting college scholarships for 30,000 students and evicting hundreds of veterans from supportive housing, state representative Emily McAsey voted to protect almost $500 million in wasteful corporate tax loopholes -- instead of making corporations pay their fair share. If enough of us tell Emily we disapprove of this vote, we can convince her to reverse course and support House Bill 390, a bill that would close $500 million annually in corporate tax loopholes and provide much needed revenue for schools, infrastructure and public safety. When big, profitable corporations don’t pay their fair share, the rest of us pay more. Our income taxes provide more than 55% of Illinois’ revenue, but corporate income taxes provide a meager 9% of state revenue. Let's make sure Rep. McAsey knows we're counting on her to represent her constituents, not helping corporations dodge their taxes.

  • Demand Montana Republicans end their attack on same-day voter registration
Same Day Registration places a burden on the individual voter, not the county election offices or polling places. Any Voter willing to first go to the county election office, before going to a polling place precludes any possible Voter Fraud. STOP this movement to restrict US Citizens from their Right to Vote.

  • NJ: Say No to PARCC (Decir “No” al PARCC) & High-Stakes Standardized Testing ( y Exámenes Estanda...
We do not believe in frequent high-stakes testing for children. We refuse to subject our children to yet another standardized assessment that negatively impacts their curricular and instructional choices. The data that will be stored on our children without a parent's permission is a violation and should be stopped immediately. We, the undersigned, believe that using test scores to evaluate teaching and learning is unjust and inequitable. Rather than pouring time, energy, and money into a new testing program, we demand that the district and the state reevaluate the ways in which they measure school and student achievement. New Jersey students deserve better.

  • Rep. Turzai: Please Put Medical Cannabis on House Agenda
Hundreds of thousands of people across Pennsylvania have a condition which could be helped by treatment using some form of medical cannabis. Cannabis is one of the oldest medicines in the world, and is the safest therapeutically active substance known to mankind. It has been scientifically studied in great detail. Cancer, HIV/AIDS, epilepsy and seizures, nausea, Alzheimers, ALS, Cronh's Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, chronic pain, arthritis, glaucoma, dementia, depression, PTSD, and many other conditions are all at least partially treatable with cannabis. Healthcare practitioners need to have this medicine available as a treatment option for their patients. For many patients, including many young children with forms of intractable epilepsy such as Dravet Syndrome, they face the possibility of death in the time it takes the legislature to act. For the rest, cannabis is the best medicinal hope remaining for re-gaining - at least partially - a normal life. Many times, cannabis can be a better treatment option than conventional pharmaceuticals. There is nothing worse than watching someone you care about suffer, except when you have the ability to do something to help. You have the ability to help, simply by making medical cannabis a priority for the remaining days in the 2013-2014 House session. We hereby request that House leadership immediately put HB2182 (Rep. Cox) - or SB1182 (Sens. Folmer & Leach), if it has already passed the Senate by now - onto the House legislative agenda for consideration.

  • District 68 School Board: Give Teachers Fair Employment Contracts Now
We community members understand that "fiscal responsibility" means spending money in the right way. We are aware that without superb teachers in our classrooms, it won't matter how much money tax-payers spend on technology or curriculum.

  • Missouri doesn't need any more guns.
There has been gun shootings in American schools, but these shooting are a minority to the other types of gun violence in the states. We need to discuss the problems with guns; not to bring more guns into the situation. This includes enforcing our teachers and faculty to use guns in a school environment.
