Many companies think it's okay to attack our world's nature preserves, and we all have to work together to show them that it's not! Many animals are dying or becoming extinct because of the horror that's happening in the Arctic. If you look at what some gas companies are doing, you'll see it's all because of money and resources. They're willing to kill life to get what they need to make their company more successful. But what's more important, the life of these animals and the value of the Arctic or which company has the best oil?

I am starting this petition because it is unfair to people who are convicted of a felony and that have changed their life for the better, have gotten a college education, and are discriminated against with employers! We deserve a second chance to become successful too! And people wonder why felons revert back to their old illegal ways! Because no one is willing to give us a chance! One mistake and we're given a life sentence! No good jobs, no housing! Considered the black sheep of America! Its not right! How are we supposed to get our lives back on track? Employment discrimination against us needs to stop!!!! Unless it's murder, rape, child molestatation or something to that effect, it shouldn't have to be disclosed! You could even make it where after a certain number of years, it doesn't have to be disclosed ! We need fair treatment!!!

The Colony of Columbia has a nonvoting member in the House and no representation in the Senate. We (theoretically) elect a mayor and District Council member, but our own tax dollars are controlled by Congress even though we don't have a vote. Over the years, votes on many progressive issues (gun control, medical marijuana, and even the placement of a firehouse) have been overturned by Congress despite the wishes of the local citizenry. If they won't give us home rule and a vote in Congress, we should not be paying for Congress to decide how to use.

CO2 EOR is a tertiary method of oil recovery. The secondary method is forcing oil upward by water flooding. After EOR, oil companies attempt to retain the CO2 beneath the earth in a process called Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). The current trend is to gain Federal tax credits for CCS, and in some cases, plan to trade carbon storage credits for cash. CCS is a complex and difficult process due to the corrosive effects of CO2 on cement casings, metal valves, and pipes. Tell the BLM to leave the CO2 in the earth where it has safely existed for 25 million years, instead of using it to produce even more oil, which in turn creates even more CO2 greenhouse gas when the oil is used. Since the killing of Michael Brown, an unarmed African-American teenager, by a Caucasian police officer last week in Ferguson, MO, Police Chief Jackson has demonstrated not only that he is an ineffective leader, but he will also promote a racist agenda in carrying out his job functions by: aiding & abetting the white suspect, Darren Wilson; deploying military tactics on a predominantly African-American crowd of protestors; disseminating video surveillance of a robbery suspect with a slight resemblance of the victim in an effort to defame the victim's character; & showing preferential treatment to Caucasian protestors over African-American protestors by charging them with lighter crimes. It is time to put an end to racist policing!

Our children's health and safety are at stake. You will not see this issue discussed in mainstream media, we need to push this very relevant conversation in the direction of our elected officials. With your help we can make a change! THE POWER OF COMMUNITY! The microwave radiation from wireless devices has never been safety tested on children. The current regulations for the amount of radiation that children can be exposed to was set by the US army and was based on keeping recruits safe from short term exposure. Current guidelines are based on the premise that the microwave radiation is safe so long as it does not heat an average sized army recruit [6ft 1inch tall. 210 lbs] more than one degree centigrade in 6 minutes. Safety limits have not been adjusted for density/body weight of children. In addition to ZERO studies on the safety of long term microwave radiation exposure on children, there are also no studies on the compounded impact of metal/microwave radiation [braces, under wire bras]. According to Health Canada there are studies showing that microwave radiation reflects and is absorbed by metal. The World Health Organization has classified Wifi and like Radio-frequencies as a type 2B Carcinogen. We need to keep driving the awareness and alertness of the growing public concern about microwave radiation in our environment. Certainly in Europe, there is a great deal of change. Parents are demanding safe schools for their children - wifi free schools. France for example has eliminated wifi exposure within their schools. I have lived several places and find there is little continuity in different policed forces. I find those who are using community policing to be very superior to all others.

The Arctic is an important place with an amazing variety of species. With so many species going extinct worldwide, why shouldn't we take a stand to save as many as we can?

So many activists are getting in trouble for believing in what is right

The Corp of Engineers dredges, annually on average 800,000 cubic yards of sediment from the Maumee River and the ship channel. This sediment contains phosphorous and nitrates from farms and sewage treatment from as far away as Indiana. The Corp then uses “open lake” dumping in Lake Erie to dispose of these dredged sediments because it is the “least expensive method of disposal”. Explain that to those who during the latest Toledo water crisis lost wages, businesses that lost income, and the continuing increased water treatment costs due to toxic algae, to be borne by Toledo water users. Dredged material dumped into Lake Erie visibly contributes to reduced water quality and provides the necessary ingredients for algae blooms. Continued phosphorous and nitrate loading of Lake Erie by the Corp of Engineers will not help improve water quality. We need now to permanently keep dredged material out of Lake Erie and not use it as a garbage dump.

I'm proud to be a Native Texan and we deserve a statesman for our governor. Not someone who is more interested in making and carrying out political threats.
