Mountaintop Removal is a destructive and unsustainable practice that only benefits big, greedy corporations at the expense of the health of our communities and the environment. While traditional coal mining extracts coal from underground, mountaintop removal mining blasts away chunks of mountains at the surface to get at the coal beneath. Explosives are used to remove up to 400 vertical feet of a mountain to expose underlying coal seams. Excess rock and soil laden with toxic mining byproducts are then dumped into nearby valleys and waterways. But our water isn’t the only thing being poisoned by these chemicals; mountaintop removal has also polluted thousands of pristine streams, and there are dozens of toxic slurry dams across West Virginia. Mountaintop Removal mining has contributed to placing a slew of wildlife on the federal endangered species list, and threatens some of the highest biodiversity in North America. Numerous studies demonstrate that mountaintop mining has serious environmental impacts, including loss of biodiversity and toxification of watersheds, which mitigation practices cannot successfully address. There are also adverse human health impacts which result from contact with affected streams or exposure to airborne toxins and dust. We must tell President Obama and Director John Pizarchik of The US Dept of Interior - Office of Surface Mining, Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE) to enforce the Stream Protection Rule, and stop mountain top removal to protect human health and our environment.

Recently, Nintendo unveiled the "New" 3DS, due for release in Japan on October 11. Nintendo has a long history of region-locking their systems, meaning that they cannot play games from other regions of the world. This policy has been the topic of scrutiny towards Nintendo, and I feel that with a new version of the 3DS system on the way, Nintendo can take the first step to removing it's region-locking by allowing the New 3DS to play 3DS games from all regions.

My son Hunter works at Linn County Options, which is being subject to change, closing or restructuring because of the Holmens act. We do not want our choices taken away from us or made for us. Hunter loves going to work everyday at Options and I love it too for pure simple reason of security and safety that he could not achieve outside of a controlled work enviroment.

Yes I did it with one company worked for 3 and half hours doing their lunch rush, this is a kinda well know restaurant. They put me on the line I didn't get a chance to even look at the menu. I found a 2 restaurant that told me the same thing, I'm not going to waste bus fare and my time to clean their space. This job want me to start after 2pm the lunch rush is over so I guess they start cleaning. So I guess the manager think that I'm going to clean while the paid employees take it easy that day, I don't think so. I think he want to see if he like working with me.

As One Ministries was started by a member of the community operating out of the back of her truck. A person who cared enough about the homeless population to build an organization that serves several thousand homeless people each year. They provide comprehensive services that help to feed, clothe, bathe and house homeless people in Gaston County. Without the services the homeless population in Gaston County have very few resources to rely on.

I am Craig Bowden, one of the candidates running for Utah's 1st Congressional District. Several third party candidates, including me, are on the ballot this November but are being excluded from participating in the debates, even though the debates are being held on tax payer funded venues like universities. Supporters feel that in order for true non-partisanship and voter education, ballot qualified candidates should be allowed to debate.

This is about stopping what is killing me, my family and thousands today from an asbestos town that continues to kill more and more innocent families with children being told/sold that Libby is safe. I have been telling all who will listen, for 14 years now, to stay away from this death town as it is not safe to anything that breathes...Tremolite asbestos causes Meso. This has to stop.

The Penn Township Community Park at Sweetbriar Creek is a very nice attraction for the residents of Sweetbriar Creek and neighboring communities; however the park is greatly underutilized due to it not holding children’s attention that other parks do. The lack of swings is a common complaint among children in the area that visit this park. We respectfully request Penn Township fund the installation of high back full bucket swings (baby/toddler swings) and belt swings (older children swings) at Penn Township Community Park at Sweetbriar Creek within the next year using existing Township funds that are already in reserve for this purpose.

This is about centuries of officers murdering African American males unwarranted. Being stopped and harassed . Seeing that all those responsible are punished to the letter of the law. Yes I have been personally affected by this.
