Our Slacklining community is unjustley being asked to take down lines in our local parks and beaches stunting our excersise, balance, and growth. As an up and coming sport for the youth and adults alike our community should be proactive, working with local slack liners to create a designated slack lining area as Santa Monica did for their slack lining community one year ago by granting a small portion of beach for their park to be built.

Mississippians face the danger of employment discrimination on a daily basis. There is no state level protection for discrimination on the basis of race or sexuality. Race-based claims require a costly visit to federal court, and only a handful of Mississippi cities offer any protection on the basis of sexual orientation. The Mississippi Legislature has a fiscal interest in keeping Mississippians employed, as taxpayer money spent on unemployment and welfare can be costly. Furthermore, employment discrimination has been linked to greater prevalence of costly physical and mental health issues. Finally and most importantly, Mississippians deserve the freedom to provide for themselves and their families without intrusion into their personal lives or discrimination on a race basis.

Millions of factory-farmed animals, such as cows, chickens (including cage-free), and pigs, suffer barbaric conditions and are slaughtered inhumanely, painfully. The cruel practices of factory farming must be ended and replaced with humane, respectful ways of breeding, raising, and killing animals. Animal abuse is illegal in the U.S. yet factory farms are allowed to violate these laws.”

LAUSD has become the laughing stock of the nation with iPadgate and the MiSiS mess. It is hard to imagine that the leadership really has students first and foremost on their minds. Schools have been in utter chaos since the failed launch of the Student Information System. Some students do not even have their schedules and have been in school for three weeks. Teachers cannot track attendance because they do not even have accurate rosters, risking critical and fundamental revenue to schools, not to mention a sense of order in classrooms and safety on campuses. The daily revelations about the improper Pearson-iPad deal make it look like LAUSD is choosing PROFITS over PUPILS. It seems no one has even answered what pedagogical value these computers and software provide students. There has not been nearly enough deliberation about the content of curriculum on the devices. In your exuberance, it seems no one has asked, “What could $1 billion have paid for?” The students and families of LAUSD need textbooks, arts classes, summer school, staff for shuttered libraries, lower class sizes for higher risk kids, and assistant principals, nurses and school psychologists. These are the things that make a difference in the lives of students. Therefore we demand RESTORATIVE JUSTICE for LA schools!

Tillis has done immeasurable damage to the residents of North Carolina in his position as State House Leader. This includes cutting money for education and unemployment benefits, and denying Medicaid to low income residents. He also gave tax benefits to the wealthy and stood against women's right to equal pay. While the Kochs can buy Tillis, North Carolina cannot afford him. (tilliskochagenda.com)

Maria Fernandes was found dead in her car on Tuesday, August 26. She worked four jobs – three at Dunkin' Donuts – because she couldn't make ends meet on the pitiful wages we make. She worked hard, and was often forced to take naps in her car between shifts – she died in a New Jersey convenience store parking lot after being overcome by fumes while resting. It's heartbreaking that she died working so hard to make ends meet. And it's outrageous that incredibly profitable fast food corporations get away with paying us so poorly that we need to work four jobs and sleep in our cars between shifts.

Ten years ago, the parents, teachers, and community of the Dearborn school came together to rehabilitate a crumbling school building that had been neglected for decades. Together they created the Dearborn 6-12 STEM Early College Academy plan to address the physical plant of the building and the academic needs of the students of Roxbury to prepare them for success in the 21st century. This plan was approved in the spring of 2012, and ground was broken on June 19, 2014. Now the entire project is at risk despite Boston Mayor Marty Walsh's October 2013 promise to “unequivocally support the Dearborn Project through to completion.” The Dearborn community members deserve the fulfillment of this promise.

I am the parent of a child with uncontrollable seizures. Every drug the FDA has approved, has been ineffective in controlling or stopping this severe form of Epilepsy. CBD oil ( Medicinal Marijuana ) has been proven to slow and even stop seizures. Many medical uses are showing great responses for sufferers, including M. S. and Parkinson's disease. Please help us.

Montana's stream access laws are continually being challenged. Most of these challenges are the result of people having no previous knowledge of the existing laws or knowledge that is incomplete or incorrect. The people of Montana like their stream access laws and would like to see them remain unchanged. If you're looking to buy a piece of Montana you should be fully aware of all the laws that may have an impact on your property and learn to live by those laws rather than strive to change them.

Let's ask North Carolina to supplement SSI to assist parents of minor children whose disability prevents them from working full time or working at all. $721 is not enough especially when food stamps are negatively impacted!! This is NOT a handout it is much needed assistance for parents and/or caregivers who face the everyday challenges of caring for a child with special needs.
