• Rep. Latham: Explain your vote for Paul Ryan's job-killing budget
Rep. Tom Latham voted for a federal budget that would, according to the Economic Policy Institute, slow the economy and cost 1.1 million jobs next year -- and 3 million jobs in 2016. Paul Ryan's congressional budget would cut $137 billion from SNAP (food stamps), $125 billion from Pell Grants, and $16 billion to block grants for Meals on Wheels, homeless shelters, and child care for working-poor families. It would cut some $300 billion from education funding. We need to send Congressman Latham a strong message so that he knows we don't support these budget priorities. We have a chance to make an impact over the next few weeks as Rep. Latham is on recess and making public appearances. We want him to work for a budget that creates jobs and gives everyone a fair shot in life. If enough of us sign, Rep. Latham will know exactly where his district stands. • Rep. Griffin: Explain your vote for Paul Ryan's job-killing budget

  • Appoint a Special Prosecutor to Investigate the Murder of Michael Brown
Bob McCulloch must fully recuse himself and his office from the investigation related to the murder of Michael Brown.
McCulloch's decision not to charge officers who murdered two unarmed African-American men in 2000 by shooting into their car 20 times, especially in the face of the U.S. Attorney's independent investigation finding that those officers lied about their actions, gives us no confidence that his office can provide a fair and impartial investigation into this current matter.
That failure, coupled with McCulloch's recent participation in one of the most racially polarizing elections in the history of St. Louis County, means that his office's continued oversight of this tragedy will only sow further distrust and discord in our community.
For the good of the entire St. Louis region and the nation as a whole, we call on Robert P. McCulloch to recuse himself and his office from this matter and to appoint a special prosector to investigate the murder of Michael Brown.

  • Protect the Artic
Although the Arctic is far from where we live the devastating results of commercial fishing, climate change, and oil drilling will effect us (the world) like a chain reaction. The Arctic is home to so much wildlife and natives that we need on earth. The monetary benefits of commercial fishing, oil drilling, etc. are not worth the life long devastating impact it can have in the arctic. We should be doing what is possible to preserve the Arctic and it's wildlife.

  • Say NO to Arctic Drilling
The Arctic is a truly special place, but it is under threat from rising temperatures, oil drilling, and industrial fishing. One person can make a difference and I believe we can stop our dependence on oil and products made with oil. For too long, we have been blinded by Big companies, who have tons of money telling us it's all okay when it's not okay. Buy more, use more be like others, but it's time we take back who we are and consume less. Live smaller, enjoy life more. Be more conscience with what we buy and why. Use more recycled products, reuse item you would recycle. Think of things you can make from it. What ever it is, try to stop buying so much and be content with what you have. We need to save our planet for our children's grandchildren and so on. Be more responsible with our resources and lets make big oil companies accountable for their actions. Do not let Shell or any other Oil Corporation, go in to the Arctic and drill for oil. Lets stand together to stop them and thanks for signing my petition! ArcticDeclaration.org

  • Protect our Arctic
Like so many places around the world that were once remote and pristine, the Arctic is now threatened by overwhelming pressure from human incursion, development and desecration. The Arctic is an amazing place, home to whales, polar bears, and other beautiful creatures. We need to act now to protect it from destruction by corporate interests seeking to enhance profits through natural resource development and expanding market access.
