Rep. Matsui: Strengthen and Support the new VRAElection Day is the one day that we are all equal. It doesn't matter it you are rich or poor; black, white, brown, or Asian; when we step into that booth on voting day, we all have the same amount of power. We need a strong Voter Rights Act to protect that power. We know that too often politicians are trying to manipulate the vote for their own gain, and we need to make sure that voters of color, women voters, young voters, the disabled, and ALL VOTERS are protected. This is a @@Petition. As such, all signers will receive regular email updates for as long as the petition is active. You can easily find these email updates by looking for the "@@" in the Subject line of you email inbox. ps. you may contact me directly via the link (my name in red text) under the title of this petition.63 of 100 SignaturesCreated by laura rubalcaba

Restore Voting Rights ActProtecting and improving voters' rights is important to all Americans. A Justice Department Study found only 40 instances of voter fraud out of 197 million votes cast, showing voter fraud IS NOT an issue in America, but protecting the rights of all Americans to be able to cast their votes legally, fairly, and unobstructed, must be upheld.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rebecca Kesling

Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014“The Voting Rights Act is one of the most important pieces of civil rights legislation Congress has ever passed. Last year's Supreme Court decision weakened critical provisions of it. Right now, Congress can restore those protections by passing this important bill. Rep. DeSantis (FL-06) should support this effort by cosponsoring and fighting for a strong bill.”1,069 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Dale Muzzy

Save the Old Stone BuildingWe are starting this petition because we want to preserve and re-purpose the Old Stone Building as a multi-purpose space for the community of Upper Marlboro. The building is currently owned by Prince George's County and sustained damage when a car hit it. It is open to the elements and needs immediate repair. This building was listed as a contributing asset in the town's application for designation as a Historic District to the Department of the Interior, and it would be a shame to allow such a picturesque treasure to be demolished. We are fairly certain that the building could be repurposed for less than the amount it will cost the county to demolish it and haul it off. Our community will lose an architectural treasure and potential gathering place. We need your help in contacting the elected officials listed above and asking them to do the right thing: Save the Old Stone Building!74 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joe Plenzler
