On Tuesday, January 21, federal prosecutors indicted Bob and Maureen McDonnell on charges stemming from the Star Scientific gift scandal. These charges only underscore the need for real ethics reform in Richmond. Politicians in Richmond will try to pass an empty bill with no real changes so they can keep accepting free dinner, free Redskins tickets, and free trips to France. We deserve better. We deserve better than ethics reform legislation so full of loopholes any elected official could still accept shopping trips, vacations, Rolex watches, and rounds of golf, just like Bob McDonnell.

I want the right to vote for myself and for future voters in my culture. We do not wish to go back to paying a poll tax and having to recite parts of the constitution or whatever some anti-person ask of us.

I fought in a war believing I was protecting the American freedom and the American Constitution. I took the very same oath as the President and all members of congress. I feel all the Americans who died in battle or suffering the wounds of battle are having their sacrifices negated by this current attack on voter rights by the GOP.

This may be the greatest threat to American jobs that you've never even heard of. Right now, the Obama Administration and nearly a dozen countries are secretly negotiating the largest free trade agreement in history -- all behind closed doors without letting the American people know what's in it. Now, Sen. Max Baucus and Rep. David Camp want to grant the president "fast track" authority, which provides for preferential and expedited congressional consideration of trade agreements to skirt around Congress' constitutional authority to amend the legislation. This is plain wrong. We know what happens when Congress passes this type of legislation granting fast track. Factories close, plants move overseas, and our workers are left behind. We simply can’t afford to repeat the mistakes of the past. This agreement could lead to the mass export of American jobs, put U.S. companies at a severe disadvantage, and harm our fragile environment. Please sign this petition calling on President Obama and Congress not to "fast track" the TPP.
