The Senate Intelligence Committee has taken an important step by passing an intelligence authorization which would, for the first time, require the Administration to publicly report on civilian casualties from U.S. drone strikes. The Administration should support this provision, and Congress should pass this drone strike transparency provision into law. Sarah Knuckey, Director of the Project on Extrajudicial Executions at New York University School of Law and a Special Advisor to the UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial executions, calls this provision "an important step toward improving transparency," and notes that "Various U.N. officials, foreign governments, a broad range of civil society, and many others, including former U.S. Department of State Legal Advisor Harold Koh ... have called for the publication of such basic information." This provision could be offered as an amendment in the Senate to the National Defense Authorization Act. It could be offered in the House as an amendment on the intelligence authorization, or as a freestanding bill. There is a small group opposing the fields due to the removal of approximately 40 trees, which the City has said will be replaced at least 2:1. SW 45th along both sides bordering Gabriel park has no room for pedestrians. The road is narrow with no parking strip, let alone pedestrian walking. We need a walkway and cross walk for pedestrian access to the park.

We the parents of student/athletes would like the District to reconsider their policy on limiting practice days and times during the 2013/2014 holiday break. TUSD is putting our children at an unsafe, unfair advantage with other schools who will be practicing during the break. Not providing a safe environment for our children to practice and prepare for the season is unacceptable. We would like TUSD to reconsider limiting dates or times and provide a safe, fair place for our students to prepare for the winter sports season. Failure to allow these student athletes to prepare could deem them not prepared physically or mentally for fair competition. I'm tired of paying taxes to support minimum-wage paying Corporations. WalMart, McDonalds, and others are shirking their responsibility to their employees by underpaying their people while raking in billions for the top executives. Make these companies do their part to provide an above the poverty line income to their employees, so they can live with dignity.

As a father of two children, one entering his school years I have a concern about how the youth in our country encounter extreme violence in film and video games. There are many examples where killing is made to look cartoonishly fun. I realize that a more responsible approach in these mediums will not end gun violence, but that doesn't mean we as individuals shouldn't strive to minimize the bad influences on our impressionable youth.
