  • Governor Cuomo: Don't FRACK New York
Fracking injects radioactive and toxic materials deep into the earth; fracking uses millions of gallons of fresh water which is returned to the surface as hazardous waste. Fracking industrializes the rural landscape with constant noise, air pollution, and dust from tanker trucks carrying fracking materials to and hazardous wastes from the wells. Gas wells release high levels of methane, which contributes to global climate change. People and animals suffer from exposure to fracking chemicals in the air and water. To save our planet and our land and water, it's time to concentrate on energy efficiency and developing renewables. Please tell Governor Cuomo: Don't FRACK New York.

  • Dental coverage to be included in all medical coverage.
I believe that any medical coverage should include dental coverage. Dental coverage should not be denied because of inability to pay. It is a medical need and it should be included as such.

  • Stop picking on Government workers
The employees of the federal government at Local 1938 out of the Army Corps of Engineers (Huntington District) have had cuts in all aspects and would like to have some back. We have been without uniforms for over a year because the program has been dropped. We would like to have it back so we can be distinguished from the public. The Volunteer program the Huntington office has provides hats and corp shirts so they can be distinguished but nothing for its employees. We as Local 1938 feel this is wrong and would like to have our uniform program back. We also would like for our government officials to stop cutting our benefits we now have and give us back our pay raise we have not had in years along with a cost of living. We work hard to meet the demands of the public and are finding it very hard with the cuts our government officials are coming up with. We feel if the Government need to cut the budget down it stop giving money overseas to benefit the rich who are sending jobs overseas and start taking better care of people at home.

  • Curb Your Horse
I live in the lower east side, particularly most recently renamed "Hell Square". On the weekends, the police now block off a radius with their police cars and have patrol horses walking about in the neighborhood. Although I am all for the police presence, is the horse really necessary? They defecate all over the neighborhood and it smells like a circus every weekend.

  • Ban all political TV commercials
Banning commercials is a step to removing money as a factor to political power. US campaigns should be funded solely by the public and restricted to a series of debates which are fact checked before being presented to the public. The status of a fact should be immediately apparent as the debate is watched.

School district policies have protections in place for bullying for students, however, there are no mandates to protect public school employees from administrative and workplace bullying. Need to create language in school Ed Code and mandates to insure civil protections for all.

  • Lice policy at Gibraltar
I am bringing this petition to the school board because there is a lice problem at Gibraltar that won't end. My daughter has come home with lice four times in the last two school years. We need a new policy to keep lice from spreading, including lice checks. There are several parents that won't send their kids on the bus anymore because of the lice problem. Parents would like Gibraltar to put a policy in place that will help put an end to this problem.

  • Florida news stations: Tell Obamacare success stories like mine!
As a 28 year old with mental and physical ailments, that make working full time just to get insurance almost impossible, the Affordable Care Act is my only hope to get the medical care I need. I was able to get life saving medical care back when I was still on my mom's insurance as a result of the Affordable Care Act changes. Now I will be getting my life saved again after January 1st when my new ACA insurance becomes active. This makes me very happy as my ailments are life threatening. The Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, has been under attack by mainstream media for more than three weeks now. What the media isn't telling you are the millions of success stories like mine.
