Non-military action re SyriaWe face an urgent situation where once again the US is about to attack a country that has not attacked us, but most assuredly will retaliate against any military action we take. Chemical weapons are an abomination, but it is far from clear that military action will have any positive effects to help the Syrian people. Attacking Syria to "maintain our credibility" in the words of one presidential candidate I remember in 2008 is a "dumb war".97 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mary Lucas

Bank of America kicks Mardi Gras Indian family out of their home! The Sorina household are dear friends - very good people. People who chose to return and rebuild their home after Katrina. Their neighborhood was hard hit and they put in the hard work of returning to their city. Only to be taken from their home years later by a ban. http://outfront.blogs.cnn.com/2013/08/28/8-years-after-katrina-new-orleans-homeowners-forced-to-fight-for-homes/?sr=sharebar_facebook144 of 200 SignaturesCreated by devin meyers

War & Casualties are NOT Necessary!!!The purpose if this petition is to make our government realize that they need to start behaving in a civilized manner. They are setting a horrible example by abusing the power they have and squandering the resources available to them. For my entire life, I have watched as my country bounces from one war/conflict/invasion to the next. I feel like I have never known a time of peace. I also realize that in spite of that, I have been lucky. Anyone trying to live in any of these War Zones, has experienced horrors that I can not even comprehend. This is wrong on so many levels, I do not even know where to begin. War is a barbaric thing of the past, and it is time that we treat it as such. The United States of America is one of, if not the Greatest Powers on Earth. With that great power comes great responsibility. We should be leading by example. We must be the change that this world needs. We must practice Peace instead of War.74 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Misty Myers

No War Against Syria or Iran! The President has called upon Congress to approve attacking Syria to prolong and escalate the war there. The Congress has imposed harsh sanctions upon Iran, just as they did for a decade before invading Iraq. War doesn't solve problems. Killing people only escalates the suffering. It is time to try a compassionate, humanitarian approach.31 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Vernon Huffman

Lunch Break for Pharmacy staffI am a Pharmacist for a major pharmacy retail chain and on most days pharmacist work diligently to serve patients without something as basic as lunch. It's inhumane and can be a hazard to the public, our job requires us to multi-task and make clinical judgments in a matter of seconds. These decisions and judgments should be made under the best circumstances.70 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Pharmacist Rights

Oppose Brazos Energy's Plans To Build New Transmission Lines in Frisco, TexasI live in Westfalls Village and am among the 19,700 current residents (and estimated 34,700 at build-out) who will be adversely impacted by this project. As proposed, the construction of these above-ground, high-tension transmission lines will have a devastating impact on our collective property values and quality of life.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Steve Stringer

Avoid World War 3 in SyriaI would hate for a war to start because of an eagerness to be world police when we should be handing that power to the UN, as it is supposed to be. We can provide assistance to the UN, but action is not worth starting a chain of events like the ones that led to the last two world wars. We should rebuild America before creating or entangling ourselves in more conflicts.17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stuart

Women Get The Right To Vote DayBeginning in the mid-19th century, several generations of woman suffrage supporters lectured, wrote, marched, lobbied, and practiced civil disobedience to achieve what many Americans considered a radical change of the Constitution. Few early supporters lived to see final victory in 1920. Slavery was abolished, Martin Luther King Jr and Winston Churchill are recognized on the calendar.. but women are still not recognized for their tireless efforts to gain the right to vote in America.79 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Carrie Frorheich
