Milwaukee was once a bastion of the middle class. Sadly, over the last 30 years, good-paying jobs have been replaced by low-wage service sector positions that trap 196,000 Milwaukee-area workers in poverty. It doesn't have to be this way - especially since a large number of these jobs are paid for with public tax dollars. Let's ensure that public resources are used to address our economic challenges.

I've seen firsthand what a difference easy access to clean water and sanitation can make in the lives of women and girls around the world. Without it, they are sicker, less safe, and (for girls) less likely to be in school. Scientific evidence proves pornography to be a powerful addictive drug, effecting the brain of the addict in ways detrimental not only to themselves but also to their families and society as a whole. Many families have been devastated and dissolved by its effects and it's time to fight back in the form of law suits. The tobacco industry has been sued for it's health effects now it's time to compensate our families and society from the destructive effects of pornography.

Too much unfinished Business

The Obama Administration recently proposed new, woefully inadequate, rules for oil and gas fracking on federal lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management. By doing so, the BLM will pave the way for drillers to amass corporate profits at the expense of our American treasures and essential resources. Stand with the people of New York in calling for a National Ban by signing this petition to submit comments under protest for drilling on public lands. No amount of rules will fix the industry's well-documented chronic well casing failures, nor mitigate the gross amount of chemicals, volatile organic compounds, or methane contamination in groundwater. New Yorkers have long been embroiled in an epic struggle with the oil and gas industry, fighting for basic necessities and resources that are often repeatedly compromised by the drilling and fracking process such as clean water, air, and food, not to mention good health and a sustainable future. New Yorkers know that not only do we need to protect our pristine public lands by banning fracking in those areas, but we also need to protect all Americans from this dubious practice which involves the injecting of millions of gallons of water laced with toxic, cancer causing chemicals in order to shatter bedrock. Studies show that the process of drilling, fracking, processing and transporting natural gas results in a tremendous amount of methane being released into the air. Methane is 70-100 times more potent than CO2 over a 20- year time frame. Recently published peer-reviewed studies on methane emissions show that, at present, gas extraction and combustion significantly contributes more greenhouse emissions than burning coal. So not only is fracking dangerous, but the methane emissions from fracking accelerate climate change and spell disaster for our country. The best way to protect our revered public lands and the rest of our country – including our air, water, food, health and climate - from fracking is to prohibit this inherently dangerous form of fossil fuel extraction entirely. This comment is submitted under protest the question isn't how we should be fracking, but if we should be doing it at all.

Lack of proper agent representation in literary works, screenplays, and music should not force someone into poverty and loss of commerce trade. With the Networks, and Production Studio's in the position to establish a platform for a unique cultural performances which can give new light on issues taking place in America with additional historic information never before seen, or heard. A citizens 1st Amendment Rights and freedom of expression is of little use if access is denied for commerce trade. Equal representation is the issue involved. It is rumored that the parole board spends 4 minutes or less reviewing each case and with the data presented in the Fiscal Year 2012 and 2013 Statistical Annual Report it is realistic to assume that is close to the reality of their ability. As a result of discriminatory regulation and lack of resources, the current system unjustly binds many inmates who are ready for reintegration to the confines of their unit without merit; specifically with regard to youthful offenders, first-time offenders and other individuals that have proven through their daily choices and actions over a period of time that they can be successful members of society if given the opportunity. Exploration wells to find natural gas are already in the ground in NW Georgia. Based on the experience of citizens in other states, the air, land & water pollution, the health issues, Georgia should ban all exploration that results in the creation of injection wells. To obtain natural gas, large injection wells must be built that are forced through layers of soils, rock and possible aquifer layers. These then pump great quantities of water and unknown, unidentified chemicals through piping to force the gas to the surface. At every stage of the drilling process fracking puts our air, land and and water at risk of contamination. Fracturing rock releases hazardous gases from beneath our land, such as hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, and methane. Quantities of these chemicals are known to serious cause blood disorders, negative neurological problems and reproductive challenges. Fracking uses up to seven million gallons of water per injection well and by using this resource for these wells decreases the amount of drinking water available for us. Chemicals used to blast through rock layers are highly toxic and are present in the waste water produced. Not only is this water forever polluted, cracks in the wells and piping used will allow the polluted water to leak into our ground and will contaminate the ground as well as our aquifers and stream beds. The health, safety and welfare of our citizens is at risk; the welfare of our ecosystem is at risk. We want to ban the exploration and use of natural gas in the state of Georgia so that our citizens continue to have clean and safe water, air and land. We want to keep our state clean. We encourage the exploration and use of sustainable energy using clean energy sources such as wind and water movement and solar power.

David Swift is a retired veteran of the U.S.A. service who has lost many of his rights for non-violent crimes he committed in his youth. His son Dustin is an outstanding citizen fighting to support his father as the county and local governments seek to harass (today they euthanized his german shepherd as a "danger" though the dog was an older docile creature) and run him out of the county. The Swifts have very few resources and like many of us, subside on a modest life-style. This petition is started by a friends and neighbors who appreciates their neighborhood watch and concern for local citizens.
