"Dia De Los Muertos" is a sacred holiday, not a Disney trademarkOn May 1, Disney filed ten applications to trademark "Dia De Los Muertos" for products ranging from jewelry to jellies. "Dia De Los Muertos" is not a brand name owned by Disney, it's an ancient and sacred holiday observed by millions across the Americas for hundreds of years. Disney should immediately withdraw its trademark applications.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Carlos

EARTH FIRSTToday, as our country and the world experience the results of a global economy we are also experiencing the disastrous results of what an ethics free global economy means to the environment, and to the wonderful biodiversity that is now being threatened by the endless footprint that mankind is leaving upon the earth, and by the drastic loss of irreplaceable biodiversity on this planet. The world needs to come together, and compose a constitution for the planet, and create permanent limitations on how, and where man's footprint is or is not allowed to intrude into areas rich with plant and animal life.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dennis Balgemann

Stop the deforestation of the Berkeley/Oakland HillsThe Hills Conservation Network has been fighting to prevent FEMA from allowing UC/Oakland to use federal disaster mitigation funds to clearcut ALL of the tall trees in the hills. They are targeting eucalyptus, pines, and acacia for complete eradication, not because of a fire risk, but because these species are despised by the native plant restoration community. They have dismissed proposed "species neutral" fire mitigation strategies that would be cheaper, would use far fewer herbicides, and would be far more effective in lessening fire risk because the native plant restoration agenda wouldn't be advanced.6,347 of 7,000 SignaturesCreated by Dan Grassetti, Hills Conservation Network

Semi trucks take livesMy 16 year old nephew was killed in a car accident on April 18, 2013 on I94. He was heading west bound on I94. He merged into the left lane and hit a patch of ice causing his vehicle to go into the median. His car slid through the median into oncoming traffic heading east bound on I94 and was struck by a semi that was in the passing lane. That lane should only be used for passing and semi-trucks are always in the passing lane. It should be a law semi-trucks cannot be in the passing lane unless only to pass and only during normal conditions. Within that same week there were 3 accident’s all involving semi-trucks and all were in the passing lane. Out of the 4 people involved two died!242 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Valerie Wood

Congress and the White House: Reinstate Import Tariffs NowUntil a little more than 30 years ago U.S. workers were protected by import tariffs. Since then corporate profits have surged while American wages have stagnated. We've all been hurt by the lack of import tariffs.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Paul Cavanaugh

Stop massive GSA corruption/public fund theft & whistleblower abuse: Get the FBI to do their jobGSA/mafia corruption amounting to an estimated annual $20 billion in public fund theft through government contracts, has been ignored by the FBI since 2002 when it was reported. The US Attorney's office says they need the FBI on board in order to prosecute. Though reports have continued, even in the face of whistleblower abuse like that experienced by Peggy Miller who has suffered house break-ins, theft of files, invasion of privacy, and abuse from intelligence gathering equipment, the FBI continues to ignore even though the first agent verified the report's accuracy. The Senate Judiciary, Homeland Security and Select Committee on Intelligence should move aggressively on this, and get President Obama and FBI director Mueller to do their jobs. President Obama was told starting in 2009. This drain on the budget needs to be stopped and the corruption needs to end. Also whistleblower protections need to be strengthened. The Congress and the President need to stop the corruption, get the FBI to do their job and protect whistleblowers from civil rights and criminal violations.36 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Peggy M Miller

Tell Fast Food CEOs: Your Workers Shouldn't Have To Rely On Food StampsI walked off my job at Jimmy John's this morning because I can’t survive on the poverty wages I make. And I’m not the only one. Fast food workers from all over St. Louis went on strike because the companies we work for aren’t paying us enough to support our families – despite huge corporate profits. Most of us make $7.35 an hour – Missouri’s minimum wage – or just barely more. That means our average salary is less than $19,000 per year, which just isn’t enough to cover basic needs like rent, food, health care, transportation, and often times a family to support. A lot of us are forced to rely on public assistance to make ends meet. It’s downright shameful that someone who works full time is forced to rely on public assistance because their employers aren’t paying us enough. Paying fast food workers a livable wage will not only help us support our families, but it will also help strengthen St. Louis’s entire economy. When we’re paid a fair wage, we’ll have money to buy the everyday items we need, keeping the money in our community and making our neighborhoods safer. I've had it with you and other fast food chains who are not paying your employees in St. Louis enough to survive. I’m outraged that full-time workers can’t afford rent, food, transportation, or health care (health care that you also refuse to provide) and many are forced to rely on public assistance to make ends meet. I believe that, here in America, everyone who works hard should be able to afford basic necessities like groceries, rent, and transportation for themselves and their families. I stand with St. Louis’s fast food workers in demanding they get the respect, and living wage, they deserve.846 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Rasheen Aldridge
