Any matter in the Senate should require only 51 votes to carry it, since that constitutes a majority. The Republicans have demanded 60 votes for far too long.

Willie Manning has been in death row in Mississippi for almost 20 years, and the only evidence against him was testimony from another inmate, who claims he confessed to the murder of Tiffany Miller and John Steckler. This inmate was already known for unreliable testimony against 2 other people, and has since recanted his testimony. Manning is scheduled to be executed on Tuesday, and the Mississippi supreme court has just found that a DNA test which could prove his innocence is not necessary.

What we call our country.

I have 6 grandchildren,all excellent students, I want for them a safe America ,not a Wild West. I want to be sure that when they are in School, at the movies or simply when they walk the streets ,that they are secure and safe .It is enoughe that we have to worry about forigne terror . We do not need our own countrymen to kill each other and our children..

Many of us are frustrated at the lack of caring of so many officials who are merely interested in the next election and their political party succeeding or working for narrow interests of the monied electorate.

There are so many unanswered questions regarding fracking for gas. Will we find out in 20 years that fracking caused water pollution and more earthquakes in California? Let's urge Assemblyman Ken Cooley to support alternative sources of energy instead of fracking.

Why doesn't the Government help old workers get back to work . Government is spending money every were but were it is needed most. In order to get older people(40-65) back to work the Government need's to created a program were they will pay half the salary of an older worker in order to make them more attractive to the work force. Lets face it there are millions of older workers unemployed who apply daily for work .If and when, they get a Job interview , they are not hired because of their age.It's a fact and the only way to give an advantage to the more experienced hard working older population is with Government help.

A large percentage of the population is aging toward the need for Social Security in order to survive in their latter years. Any threat to the present payout formulas need to be stabilized. This simple two step program resolves the problem.

This is not even an issue that I have encountered personally, and in spite of that I am still outraged that banks have found yet another way to steal from hard-working Americans. Banks are making people homeless practically "for sport," and it needs to stop.

For both fiscal and ethical reasons, it is time Congress cancelled AUMF and reclaimed oversight of US military engagements. We should return to the Constitutional policy of allowing military action only when a formal Declaration of War is passed by Congress. Article 1, section 6 of the Constitution grants the right "to declare war" to Congress.
