As Congress seeks to pass immigration reform, more than 1,100 people who could be included in reform are continuing to be deported each day. People who came to the US looking for a better life, to provide for their families, and who call it home are pursuing political equality but may be taken away before a path to citizenship opens. Right now, the government is spending $18 billion dollars each year, just on immigration enforcement. It's more than all other federal law enforcement agencies' budgets, combined. That wasteful spending isn't just destroying families. It hurts our communities, divides families,removes hard-working people who contribute to our neighborhoods and our civic life, and ultimately undermines our democracy. Stopping deportations is sensible and humane. It resolves a crisis thousands are facing instead of prolonging it. It makes sense to cease the removals today of the people that Congress could make citizens tomorrow. The President brought relief to Dreamers and has the ability to extend that same relief to their parents, neighbors, and all who could become citizens under immigration reform.

Corporate donations overpower fair elections.

When this amendment was passed, we were a fledgeling nation The Second Amendment was based partially on the right to bear arms in English common-law, and was influenced by the English Bill of Rights of 1689. This right was described by Blackstone as an auxiliary right, supporting the natural rights of self-defense, resistance to oppression, and the civic duty to act in concert in defense of the state. With a standing army of almost 1 million and the strongest defense apparatus in the world, with state and local police forces as capable as most countries armies, there is no longer a need for every citizen to have the right to bear arms. At best, they should ask for the privilege based on compelling circumstances

Backyard gun target practices within the residential areas can be very loud and scary to domestic animals and humans. It can be heard from at least 10 acres or more away from the source of shooting. It is an invasion of most people's private air space, and disrupts otherwise peaceful environment. Gun owners should go to the permitted gun target practicing areas, not their own backyard.

Creating a fairer tax base for all companies, negating the need for shrewd downline accounting.

We the people who have the right to take charge of our financial responsibilities and demand the right to refinance our student dept. The student loans have turned in to a virtual debtor’s prison. We demand our rights to refinance to low insterst rate. The banks do not have the right to extort money from us for our hard work.

The school district's budget for the 2013-2014 school year calls for HUGE cuts to the school staff, activities, programs and services. That means our children's schools won't have any of the things that make a quality education.
