  • Oppose Mountain Top Removal in Maine
Ensure the passage of LD 1059, "An Act To Protect Maine's Environment and Natural Resources Jeopardized by Mining." In the spring of 2012, LD 1853 was passed in Maine, legalizing mountaintop removal via open pit mining. LD 1059, which was considered by the Environment and Natural Resources Committee on April 29 and will be voted on in the next few weeks, is sponsored by Representative Ben Chipman of Portland. It will result in a full repeal of LD 1853. The protection of our natural resources and health requires passage of LD 1059. • First Money in a Budget Crisis comes from Congress
Congress has let the Budget hang for too long. Let Them pay for their stupidity. Before general department cuts, Congress' salary and privileges will be completely cut. Privileges are for Performance of duties and the income is token from the days when budgeting the government's expenditures was the job of Volunteers for a few years, rather than the reason for being a legislator.

I am on Social Security Disability, Medicare and Medicaid. I need these programs just for my survival. I live in poverty. If you make cuts in these programs I am afraid of what will happen to my life. I have no family to care for me. All I have is Social Security Disability, Medicare and Medicaid. Plus the millions of other vulnerable Americans who will be devastated too by any cuts in these vital programs.

  • Stalking
I have been stalked for 11 years. I have an restraining order against my stalker and the police refuse to enforce it. We need a national stalking law that forces law enforcement and State Attorney's/District Attorney's enforce a stalking law. This law also should be a criminal law rather than the current civil law with automatic monetary penalties that are to be paid immediately after a conviction of stalking or the stalker goes directly to jail or both.

  • Healthcare & Social Security
The President and Legislatures have a different healthcare and retirement systems than the citizens. They need to be on the same system that the citizens are on. How can they "attempt" to manage two different systems and get voter support. This is CRIMINAL!

  • Automobile Insurance companies have unfair car rental agreements
While repairs or searches for replacement of cars involved in accidents happens, it's common for insurance to be sold that is represented as providing a rental car that is the same quality as the original one, at no charge to consumers. There is the impression that consumers may use any car rental company, but in reality, the insurance company pays a rate that is acceptable to only a couple of car rental companies with whom long standing contracts are in place to accept amounts that aren't competative with existing car rental rates. Those contracts need to be outlawed, so consistent rental rates exist, for all car rental companies. Car remtal companies coerse consumers to pay non conforming, much higher fees for damage done during the period of time the car is rented. That has resulted in monthly contracts held with tepair companies that agree to keep any needed repairs to cars, within a monthly amount. When many cars require repair in a month, "corners may be cut", and when few cars require repairs in a month, the costs to renters for a repair increases, beyond the standard in different communities. That cost, which must be bourne by consumers. The rental cpany sets the prices for cars they repair, to reflect their costs. That practice needs to be more standardized, as consumers are made to pay highly inflated costs for repairs, then. The only alternative is being banned from renting any car in the future from that company. When the former situation exists with insurance companies having preferential agreements, that renders Consumers liable for imcreased car rental costs, which negates the prise that such rentals aren't covered, as intimated and constitutes false advertising! Blackballing comsumers should be outlawed!

  • Removal of the assassinations list
The president of the United States has a secret list of people that he will command his forces to assassinate on his whim this is a direct violation in the constitutional to freedom of life and conviction only by due processing of the law. We should stop this from happening before we have to suffer from watching our own president assassinated before our very eyes and watch another global warfare ensues possibly on US soil.

  • Elected Democrats Need to Stand Up Now!
Several times recently, including this past week, elected democrats allowed republicans to call the shots in the Senate. We cannot continue to support elected officials who turn their backs on the poor and disenfranchised to accommodate those of us with means....such as allowing the sequester to be lifted to prevent inconvenience to those who fly while poor little children go to school hungry or are not allowed to go at all...due to squester cutbacks.
